  1. And of course Burm....your treestand is nowhere in site. LOL
  2. I don't care what the temps are. I don't have to be at work!!!! Just the me, my chair and rifle. Life is good!!!
  3. Actually I think all 3 are different buck. The first video there are 2 different bucks. The 2nd video is a buck different from the first two.
  4. Usually a sandwich or two. 2 candy bars (fifth ave and pb cups), chips, breakfast bar, ring Bologna, a water and mtn dew. Then by 10:00 I head back to the truck to stock back up.......jk
  5. That sucks. Something will turn up eventually. It may not be right away but someone will start talking about it and word will spread. When people get drunk, they cant shut up.
  6. I am!!!! Only 7 hours, 51 mins and 15,14,13,12 secs to go before I get out of work, rotate the tires on the truck, pack the truck and get ready to leave tomm morning. Gun is sighted in, bags are already packed and the frost this morning put a smile on my face.
  7. Well atleast you are able to rejoin us...just in time because there are going to be a lot of monster bucks posted on here this weekend.
  8. Holy hell growalot, throw in a kitchen and I will come make you your meals for the day!! LOL
  9. I will shoot a doe at 715 the first morning if the opportunity presents itself. I go for meat and that is meat in the freezer.
  10. Who is getting the @ss slappin' taunts.......the wife or the coworkers? lol
  11. The SOUNDS OF OPENING MORNING aren't what they use to be about 14 years ago when I first started hunting. The first shot by someone in our gang was always 7 to 715. Now we are lucky if someone shoots by noon the 1st day. Yes I still hear those pre legal time shots. I would have to say that the shooting has reduced by about 70% since I started hunting in New York.
  12. Just about ready to go. Ended up doing 6 loads of laundry (including the kid's laundry) to make sure that all the clothes were washed so I could find my lucky shirt!!! Plus it made the wife happy that the laundry was done. Gun is sighted in, bag is packed and there is no day like opening day. Plus hunting with my 80 yr old great uncle and other relatives while I can is a blessing in it self. Hope everyone has a great and safe opening weekend.
  13. Definitely an interesting way to get it out.
  14. Yeah I always use tent stakes to help hold my chair on the ground so it doesnt flip over when I take a nap. Lol But on a serious note to you guys that hunt from tree stands, PLEASE use your safety harnesses. As a vol firefighter we had to help a guy out of his tree because he was wearing his safety harness. Had he not....well he would have dropped about 20 feet and then rolled down a steep embankment. A guy I worked with fell out of his tree stand while wearing one. You just never know when something may go wrong. You can do something 100 times and nothing happens. But it is just that one time when you least expect it. Please be safe and happy hunting to all
  15. Yeah guessing around 12-13 for the 1st 2. The other one is a little older.... I would just keep your eye out in case they decide to start growing the weed on your property.
  16. I have seen my fair share of rubs and scrapes down here in PA. More than normal as well.

    Got 'em!!

    Congrats. Meat in the freezer.
  18. I will text some of the other guys that I am hunting with. But now this year since upgrading to the smartphone I will probably look at and contribute to the "Live from the Stand" section of this forum.
  19. In gun season, I do all day sits the first 2 days. The other days I am out, I usually sit til about 10 and walk around or sit at another spot for awhile and then head back and sit from 2 til dark.
  20. If they were my choices I would go with the .308. I would feel a lot more confident with the .308 if that deer was standing at 200 yards compared to the .223.
  21. Google Earth is what I use a lot of. Bing maps work well also.
  22. Yeah I got nothing.....Definitely a conversation piece!!
  23. I can see where your brother in law in coming from. Try to let the smaller ones walk in hopes of a bigger one. Now however I think like you do. If I am willing to shoot it on the last day....I will shoot it on the first day. Every deer is a trophy to me....Spike buck or 20" 10 pt or a doe. They all put healthy meat in my freezer.
