Youth Pheasant Weekend
turkeyfeathers replied to Doewhacker's topic in Small Game and Predator Hunting
Wish we had some birds around here ! Good luck to you and your son. I'm sure Bill will be taking a youth to Sterling or Stewart -
Anything you don't know something about ? Always impressed.

I've gotten pretty good at writing my name in the snow from 18' Good pen(is)menship

daughter had one of those too. It was more or less a giant ant farm for most of its life in our yard.

Did you happen to eat asparagus before peeing in scrape ?

I stopped in on way home from Cabelas as I was looking to buy a 20 gauge bore sight. No gots. Asked at Wolcotts if they bore sight. Sure do, went home grabbed daughters gun, 5 minutes later it was done. He quoted me $10 when I first stopped. All set he says, no charge. Good business IMO. I've compared some of their prices on handguns and they are always the cheapest. This may have been my 5th or so time there. They fixed my Buckmark for me last year and very happy with the service. Great staff each time I've been there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Dang , this thread is catching up to the beer thread in posts. -
I'll split the cost of another suitcase with you so you can pack it full of Fresh squeezed and Surly. Can't get either here. So drink your fill there

From what I understand is the " human " scent dissipates quickly and the deer smell only the ammonia in our urine. I've been drinking a big ole iced coffee on my hour drive to check cams. The toughest part is I gotta whiz so bad by the time I actually get to my made scrape. I actually jogged a little bit the last time to make it. Lol. Picked up a few bucks on cam nearby first check but they hadn't scraped . Second time i checked I had camera in menu mode so no pics. Doh.

Happy anniversary!

See how I "baited" you into looking ?! Oh , that was " corny " Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

that this is purely a coincidence. Stopped at Wolcott guns to get daughters shotgun bore sighted. Truck had hunting stickers all over it. Probably owns a parrot and it's food spilled

And I didn't even get any. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Stone has it. First get rid of grease. Leave outside for a few days to catch a nice surface rust. Dye with logwood, sumac , black walnuts. Whatever you choose. Like he said , have wax ready as traps will take wax better when they're still hot. When cooled , file off wax from end of dog and and where dog catches on pan. Otherwise they may spring on their own when set. Are you going to use earth anchors or cross stake rebar ? May want to boil those too. Don't plan on staking single stakes with anything less than a 24 " rebar stake and even then coyotes can pump them out. My .02 for what it's worth. Oh yeah , careful waxing: stuff is highly flammable. Experience talking there lol. Please don't use your wife's good pots in any of these procedures !

SSS . My daughters initials. Not sure what else I'd mean by that

I post on another thread yesterday. Buddy and his son catch an unimaginable amount of feral cats trapping fox and coyotes . All of which get let go [emoji16]. Cue Led Zeppelin "Stairway to heaven " in the background Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Did you get your DMP for where you wanted
turkeyfeathers replied to upstatehunter's topic in Deer Hunting
As season winds down and you don't or haven't punched that 9H I'd love to have it as we hunt 9H . Keep me in mind please -
WNY DoeHunter. Fixed it for you . They eat just fine too

Best ways to keep people from stealing your ground blinds or stands
turkeyfeathers replied to LJC's topic in General Hunting
Ground blinds are easy. All the materials are right there on the ground floor. All you need is a bow saw and some twine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Sounds intriguing and I'd try it but it does look like you threw Kermit in the blender and topped it off with his fingers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Matty my new Setter pup.
turkeyfeathers replied to airedale's topic in Small Game and Predator Hunting
Gorgeous dog ! Can't go wrong with an English setter as a bird dog. Brother used to hunt grouse over George Reiman English setters. Great painting too.
