Good eatin deer right there, Ide get the hind quarters done in cutlets. One of my deer I killed in Highschool fit into a garbage bag, best eating deer I have ever shot! Good job, nice to know there are other DEER hunters like me! Now get the mama!

    Finally

nice, waiting for my doe still
  3. Some big deer being taken out there on private lands
  4. Was in 4w friday thru monday, saw 5 deer friday and missed a doe. Saturday evening saw 2 deer, and last night I draw back on a doe and had the arrow fall off the string. Oh well. We shot a coyote this morning.
  5. I hunt 4w and am all for the antler restrictions, don't even know the last time a deer bigger than 4 points was killed. If a wmu gets antler restrictions does it make it easyer to draw a doe tag?
  6. North Fork Preserve. I used to work there when I was in highschool about 6 years ago, beautiful peice. I "guided" the tower shoots there with my uncle, I would retreive downed birds and help the shooters get around. The owner died and the siblings were fighting over it for almost ten years, I don't think there will be any hunting allowed on it if the county takes it over especially with all those camp sites they want to make. Saw a huge 8 and a equal sized 10 fighting in the middle of a feild in the middle of the day one time, amazing place. Saw a huge nontypical 13 pt taken from there once, the guys who have deer hunted there for years must be pissed about them loosing this amazing property.
  7. Buddy of mine got a small 4 pt in weschester right at sunrise.
  8. 4w deleware county, and 3m orange county
  9. Hunted montauk on a windy day a few years ago and stalked right up to 3 does feeding, Its great for still hunting. Hitting a deer in 30 mph winds is another story. I was when I had first started bowhunting with an old 1980's jennings bow, slowest bow in the world lol.
  10. I lost a 7 point last season, was sick to my stomach it was not a big deer BUT it was my personal best. Got in touch with Matt Sasso but he could not search on public land with his dog (understandable) Don't worry about other guys knocking your decisions, everyone thinks they are pro's on the internet and have all the answers. Im young too ( 22 ) and its hard to have older guys take you seriously. Losing a deer happens if you hunt long enough. Just get back in that treestand!
  11. Hes gunna be bloated, breath through you mouth when you gut him! Hopefully you find him.
  12. You gotta be in it to win it. Walk around and find some good trails and you will see deer if you ut your time in.
  13. Ticks will die after the first frost, don't have to worry too much after that.
  14. Deer, im just as happy wether it has no antlers, a spike, or a good buck. But we do start to see more bucks during this time. But a deer is a deer, the only thing we won't kill is a button buck if we can try. But after my sucky season last year because of my crazy work and school scedual, and my health situation now, im killing the first thing I see this year when I get back in the woods in the next couple of weeks.
  15. End of october seems to always be good on LI, someone in my group always get a deer around the week of Halloween.
  16. Hunt a pond in the morning/ early afternoon.
  17. I know how you feel, I had scouted and had alot of pictures of deer back in august. Than had a bad atv accident later in august and in not getting the cast off til next week. Ill be good to go by november maybe earlyer.
  18. Fins to feathers taxidermy in famingdale
  19. Usually 30 min before actual sunrise....
  20. Good luck guys, I would be getting out til november when im healed up.
  21. Im 22 and hunt LI, and am the youngest memeber of a hunting club in Deleware county 4W. I hunt alot of waterfowl and deer ith the bow, its all I live for. Alot of older guys underestimate younger guys, they do not give them respect and "think" they do not have any skill. I have learned alot from older more seasoned hunters, it is the only way to truly learn how to hunt. Best advice ive ever had is that you "Have to be in it to win it", you ain't gunna kill anything sittin on the couch. Alot of guys my age just don't have the drive to sit in the cold for hours and wake up early.
  22. All my arrows got them in july, the newones that came out are great, they fixed all the problms from recent years. I recommend them.
  23. I have property just off rt 30 in hancock and there is tons of grouse. Hard to get without a dog but we still kill a few. Pheasants in my valley too.
