Im waiting on my broken leg to heal from my atv accident a month ago, going to miss most of october. I like scouting alot in sept to see if others have been in my area. I might be able to ground hunt by end of october but well see.

I didn't get a doe permit for the 2nd year in a row in 4W. My club gets a landowner permit and we usually give it to a member that has not shot a deer yet. I have property to hunt in orange county if I need a doe.

Was this county land or the state owned DEC land?

had guys walking around all morning not able to find their spot and then a doe died near me and the guy started feild dressing it with 30 mins of daylight left instead of just waiting so he ruined the rest of my hunt. and the second day rained, not the worst thing that could happen just annoying.

Jinxd yourself last year? I totally understand, Someone told me that I will never see 3/4's of the deer I get pics of.

Pictures Pictures? I wanna see. My cam went out this morning, going to get in on monday. Its about 2 miles in and don't think anyone will find it.....hopefully. Spooked a deer with headgear this morning real wide couldn't tell how many points, saw a few turkeys as well.

Mines going out next week in suffolk, my buddy has a some super nice bucks on his cam already. Im going to set it out now cause in september with everyone scouting it will probably get stolen.

I hunt turkey in Roxbury and always see 2 or 3 bear during a weekend hunt, some rugged hills and great hiding places for bears.

Is the 3d range airconditioned? I know they do not have heat.

theres a certain section of cederpoint you can hunt, all I hunt i suffolk parklands. I hunt the ones in manorville mostly.

hellyhanson makes a great camo rain pullover, its about 80$. I highly reccomend it.

Your very right, my buddy is always commenting on how much faster his bow is than mine bla bla. My arrows do hit very consitant and I really have not seen any difference when I increased the speed other than my arrows are more unstable in flight. Ill definetly be going back to 64 otr 65 lbs.

Thanks for the input, I definetly need heavier arrows because I can see the fly arradically even though its hitting its mark(the fletchings kinda go side to side after hitting into the target). I will probably come down on the weight a bit because I feel my arrows hit harder when my bow was set for 64lbs rather than the 70lbs im shooting now. Quickspinns would probably help stabilize it also.

I shoot a 3 yr old Martin Moab single cam 70lbs with Beeman camo hunter shafts with standard vanes(340's I beleive). I wanted to get a bit more speed out of my bow, would better arrows or smaller vanes be better? How does everyone feel about the "Blazer" vanes? Im going to start fletching and cutting my own arrows this summer. Also would using a non camo shaft gain speed? I feel the camo dip on the arrows add some weight.

We used to do this when the site was Empire hunting, was always a good time. Alot of guys never made it back to the site after it crashed.
