  1. I have always said 175lbs and up is a big one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I used the gmx superformance when I hunted with my AR. I was stationed in NC at the time and it was my only rifle I had down there. Never shot one over 150yds and was never really happy with the terminal performance but I never lost a deer with them. I was using an AR with a 14 inch barrel so I certainly left some speed on the table, an extra 6-8 inches of barrel make a big difference in performance with a round that is depending on velocity for performance. 3. I have killed a few deer with my AR's never was overly impressed but they all died. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I have been lucky, I have a ton of stands out and a handful of blinds that have all been out for years and have yet to loose one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. 60yds is my max, for the last 10 days I have shot 1 "cold" shot at 70yds and all were well within my 8" circle. To give myself even more wiggle room I have set my limit at 60yds. Stone, I know you and I shoot a lot more than the average bow hunter and others need to remember that we shoot thousands of shots a year to be prepared for these ranges. 6. You are stating ball parks as facts. If your not calculating vains and arrow diameter your numbers won't even be close. If you don't know at what rate an arrow is slowing you will never know how fast it's going when it gets to a distance. At "normal" archery ranges none of this would matter but when we are talking extreme ranges where an arrow has slowed to less than half its original speed it really matters. 7. QAD drop away if off and on the bench, whisker biscuit is on turned back down to 70lbs. Paper tuned and dialed in. This is 78 yds 1 field point and 1 slick trick.
  8. Small fanny pack for me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. What about. 400gn arrow or heavier. I can't find a calculator that goes out that far for archery. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I shoot both ways, my bad back causes me to stand a lot while in a stand so I practice both ways. It really doesn't make a difference I'm very confident shooting both ways. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I forgot a shotgun 12ga Remington 11-87 tactical. "My only buckshot kills came with this gun on Beaufort usmc air base in SC" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. This is the stuff I love! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I'm going to add the guns because that will be fun lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Yea I have it in an H&R handi rifle. It's a cool gun but not fun to shoot. Only killed 1 deer with it a doe a hit her a little back and it blew a huge hole in her. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  16. Modern technology and my way above average skill I don't think 120yds is out of the question. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. So because others can't do something it should've be aired? I guess we shouldn't have a motorcycle or car race ever, or a skate boarder or hell even a home improvement show because I'm sure there is someone who doesn't know how to use a circular saw. Why the hell is this any different? If there is a moron in this world who watches this guy take a 130yd shot and think he can do the same thing we most likely don't have to worry about him wounding anything because most likely he is paralyzed after trying a back flip on his dirt bike after watching the Xgames. 18. Last year I went to a local farmer asking permission to hunt I told him I'm willing to help however I can to gain permission he told me the only help he needed was driving silage truck but I couldn't do that because I didn't have a CDL and that he didn't let anyone hunt his land. Last winter I used my GI bill and went to a trucking school to acquire my class a Cdl luckily it didn't cost me anything but time. Well this spring I went back to him and told him I had acquired my Cdl and if he ever needed help to give me a call. I have been chopping hay on my days off whenever he needed me and corn the last couple weeks. I haven't asked him for permission again because I wanted to give him time and I really don't need another place to hunt but am always looking. Well this morning he rode with me out to the field and told me that I could hunt the 500 acre chunk that we were chopping and to treat it as my own and thanked me over and over for helping him when he needed it. Back story- I grew up up working on dairy farms and have been driving silage truck for a long time but never had my CDL so I didn't just get it for him and am glad I have it as I can help my grandfather who has a dump truck but is trying to slow down. I enjoy the work and get a lot of days off because I'm on a 12hr schedule at my real job. The land is out there guys you have to work to get access. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I find it funny that certain individuals discredit someone's skills as "unethical" there are people in this world with natural talents way beyond most of our imaginations. My whole life growing up I was told 30yds is the max a bow should be shot. While I was in the service a couple of my buddies were from Idaho and were bow hunters. We went shooting one day and they had a target set up at 100yds I was laughing at them. After they explained that they hunt wide open prairie and rarely get shots inside of 40yds and most of their shots were 60yds I was amazed but after watching them and shooting with them for a couple years and seeing deer they killed it made me become dedicated to having the ability and set up to shoot longer ranges. In the right conditions I am 100% confident in my abilities at 60yds with my vertical bow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. If I had to worry about organizing my gear I would take 3/4 of it out. Even all day hunts in the ADKS I use a half full small fanny pack. I don't like carrying a bunch of crap. Grunt tube compasses gps guting gloves piece of rope knife life straw and granola bar, between my pockets and my pack nothing is stuffed full and I know where everything is. 21. So if I'm reading this correct he set the ladder stand against the tree then used screw in steps to get to top then tried stepping into the ladder stand? If so that wasn't the best idea for sure. I hope him a fast recovery and I hate hearing about this stuff. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I'm impressed, I wouldn't have taken the first shot but had I why not take the second one. The animal already has a arrow in it in a fatal spot why not try and hurry it along. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I can't get the link to load but I do know that a couple years ago a bow hunter shot his camera man in the face. That was an accident. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I hunt 5h, 5f and 6j all have lots of state land and there are even a few spots that have deer. Very little hunting pressure. With your money you should be able to buy a big chunk of land up hear if you find these area have too much pressure. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. I have the basspro insulated ones, haven't worn them much but they seem ok not too noisy or bulky. I do like the full length zipper on the legs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
