For those of you that are already tracking or are interested in it now is the time to be honing your shooting skills. I shoot one of me deer rifles at least weekly. I’m lucky to be able to shoot in my back yard. I know many don’t have that ability but you can still be practicing properly at a public range. The drills I did this week was 3 shots at a 10” steel plate at 50yds from a carry position. My carry position is my hand right hand wrapped around the receiver. As a left eye dominant right handed person that shoots left handed this is what I’ve found to be most comfortable and fast. A have a very basic free shot timer app on my phone. I averaged just under 4 seconds from beep to 3rd hit at 50yds. You don’t need steel targets a paper target will work the same, the only difference if I miss a shot I shoot until my 3rd hit. I shot 2 boxes of ammo. The first box was single shots. From carry position to shot. The second box was the 3 shot drill. It’s a great drill for this style of hunting, I highly recommend it. It works on many aspects of getting the shots off when tracking. I’m working on getting a camera to start filming some of my range work to add to this thread. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

A quick update, I paid a deposit to a young lady that is very interested and motivated. She has some flexibility on dates but as of now I have locked her in for the 3rd week of Nov. I really hope this works out. This could work out very well for both of us. She’s a very liberal college student that has a good amount of filming experience but zero hunting experience. She’s never stepped foot in the woods outside of a city park and never been around a gun let alone fired one. I really hope that her looking at this from a non hunter point of view that she will be able to capture things from a completely different angle than the run of the mill hunting videos that are already out there. Now I just have to hope for favorable conditions for that week or else I will have wasted a good bit of money and time but it’s a risk That I think is worth it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I did watch the video as well as talk to a very good friend that was there and was also on the unit. When being told to clear a street they don’t say, if someone’s over 75 and under 150lbs they can stay. The officers were told to clear that street of protesters. That particular “protester” decided instead of listening to the police he was going to act like an asshole to the police. The choices he made brought on completely justifiable actions by the police. You’ve been through police training? You know what they do and do not cover? Cops are human beings, after dealing with these protests for nearly a week while being stuck on mandatory 16-18hr shifts I’m sure that particular officer was getting a little sick of the bullshit. If you can’t understand that than you’re part of the problem. If you think you can do better there are departments across the country that are scraping the bottom of the barrel to fill spots! As someone that doesn’t have a side or party that I align with I consider myself pretty open minded. I can generally understand someone’s opposing opinions however some who thinks that this lifelong dirtbag deserves this is incomprehensible to me. The call to make all disciplinary of Leo’s public makes me nervous. I’ve been put on paper before for things I’ve done that didn’t happen the way supervisors thought. Being a Leo already sucks in a lot of ways. There’s a reason why forces across the country are constantly looking for new officers. Departments are constantly lowering requirements because recruitment has been so low. When you lower requirements you’re going to get a lower quality employee, lower quality employees lead to more problems so it’s really a double edged sword. As a LEO you put your job on the line everyday, sometimes when your life could be on the line and you have to break some rules. Then you have to hope that someone whom has never been in that position before in their life can see why you did what you did or else you’ll lose your job and possibly your freedom. I also had the pleasure of serving in 2 foreign wars and couldn’t agree more! This country is heading in a direction I’m sad to be a part of! I’ve spent my adult life serving the country that I love. Between my time in the USMC then as a sheriff and now in the department of corrections I’ve personally witnessed the worst this world/country/state has to offer.
