Our soldiers are Losers

How can you say he’s middle of the road? He’s the most weathervane politician I’ve ever saw. Whatever way the wind blows is the way he’ll point. There’s literally not a topic he hasn’t flip flopped on over his half century in politics. But good try! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Ke doesn’t cause more meat damage all things being equal. Velocity is the main culprit for “messy meat.” Due to the larger permanent and temporary wound channel. Ke just keeps the bullet going in the direction it started. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’m confused by how you think a 180gn 30-06 makes more of a mess than a 150gn 308? The 150 from a 308 is traveling 150ish FPS faster, if you’re using the same bullet and shot placement the 308 will be more messy every time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The problem with these questions is that other than a very few on here most on here haven’t killed 10 deer with a rifle. I’m not putting anyone down but unless you’re in a few small areas most likely you’re only killing 1 or 2 deer a year with a rifle. And a large portion of the state has been shotgun only until not that long ago. That being said both the 30-06 and 308 have been around a long time and are both fine choices for deer/bear in New York as well as anything else that walks on North America other than maybe a costal brownie. Me personally I own both and have killed deer with both. They both do it all very well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My philosophy is to go mono e mono with a buck worth shooting in the big woods. Doing it my way on their turf is what I live for! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If you burnt out a 2500lb winch I would be getting a bigger one. I don’t know what brand Polaris uses but the quality winches are better than the harbor freight/northern tool ones. Is they’re enough better to justify the price is arguable, but when you need a winch is usually the worst time for it to fail so a couple hundred bucks is cheap insurance in my book! Cool idea but not of any use to me. With wool pants taped to my boots as long as I don’t stand in it I can get through water without getting wet as long as it doesn’t come in my front pockets. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If I’m on a track that I really want to be following there’s really only 4 things that make me call it off, river that’s over my pants pockets, “ I’ll spend a lot of time looking for a place to cross!” Snow melting, if I come across a bigger track and, dark. As far as getting them out of the woods. If they’re under 180ish lbs i make backpack straps with their legs and carry them out. If their over 180 I have a very hard time getting them up on my back so I drag. Tuck their front feet behind their horns cut a sapling or branch longer than my hips are wide. Tie rope around neck and front legs and tie to both ends of the stick just long enough for me to get in the loop. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

There’s no free lunches, everything is a give and take. I know I can shoot tighter groups with a scope as well at a target, but as long as I can put 1 in the middle of a deer I know I’m going to get him so I don’t care about group size. Scopes are an excellent aid and if there’s not snow on the trees or coming from the sky I hunt with a scope. If there is than I won’t take the chance and just carry a gun with a peep. Dry firing is your friend! You can do it in your house for free. I dryfire 5 or 6 times a week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Before you worry about snap shooting work on your freehand shooting. Once your groups start Shrinking then start working in some snap shooting. Your best tracking days it’s very difficult to keep a scope clean. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

By open sights do you mean open sights or a peep sight? Also what do you mean by good shot? I personally hate the standard open sights not because I can’t shoot them well enough but because they cover too much of my target and it’s surroundings. A peep gives you a lot more open sight picture to be able to see branches and sampling etc. If you’re constantly hitting a pie plate at 50yds that’s more than good enough! No, I don’t know anyone that uses them. What do you do with the sticks when a buck jumps up 20yds from you? I’ve never worried about the long shots because I’ll have time to get ready and most times I’m carrying a gun with iron sights, 150yds is as long as I want to shoot. 150yds is a shot I’m perfectly comfortable taking trying to get a bullet in the middle of a deer without a rest. If I have time to set up shooting sticks I have time to take a kneeling position or lean against a near by tree for added support. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If you’ve ever saw the episodes where he hunted with the old guy I believe it was his uncle it’s what I imagine a day in the woods with Pygmy would be like. Those were my favorite episodes, I don’t think I’ve watched one since the old timer died. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I don’t really have an end goal. I’ve had a couple ideas but I want to see how it turns out before getting in too deep with it. I got banged up a bit overseas, it’s not getting better that’s why I want to do this while I can. Thanks for the offer! I may take you up on it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
