  1. I have also quit weighting them, I had a powder scoop made that fits 120gn by volume and that’s all I use now. The scoops is always within a grain. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I’m also on that list. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Probably, last loose powder I shot was Jim Shockley gold. Much cleaner than 777 but was very temperature sensitive so I didn’t use it for long. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. That last 3” is where the burn ring is from the pellets you’re using. You using white bots or 777 either way they both make a burn ring it’s from the glue they use to make the pellets. This is the exact reason why I don’t use pellets any more. Probably too late this year but next year look into these, they’re the best sabots I’ve used and load easy! https://www.harvestermuzzleloading.com Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. The problem is if you’re anything like me you’ll own 2 or 3 boats that you think you can make work and are never happy with. That’s when I finally decided that a 13 hour drive and a couple plane tickets were worth it to finally not have to settle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Yea, hard to find that style boat in NY, I drove to Chicago to get mine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Craigslist is the best. You can usually tell how a boat was treated pretty quickly by the way it looks when you go look. If you’re. Sow trolling with a rod in your hand you can’t beat a tiller! I love my new rig it’s definitely my forever boat! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. The problem is that 80 and 90 inches quickly becomes 60 and 70 inches with the way those boxes are on the side, doesn’t leave much room to get around each other when trying to net fish and set rods. Another questing I have is why new? Just like tree guy said there are a lot go good cheap used boats out there that you can save a bunch of money on and customize to make your own. I’ve owned a lot of used boats and I don’t honk I’ve ever lost money on one. The only reason I bought new this time is because there wasn’t a used 20ft 100” wide tiller East of the Pacific Ocean. 9. If you’re walleye fishing I’m assuming you will be trolling. Unless you’re by yourself you will wish you went bigger very soon with the boxes on both sides of the boat like both the boats you’re looking at. They take up a lot of room and make a boat seem way smaller! I love tillers that’s what I run now and for trolling there’s not a better setup unless you have more than a few guys in the boat at a time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. This video solidified my support for capital punishment. No this isn’t kids being kids, no this wasn’t bad judgement this is two pieces of shit that will never turn out to be decent human beings. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I understand that, I think it really boils down to the individual. I ice fish 3-4 times a week while there’s ice and only wear lacrosse burlys with 200gram insulation with a good wool sock until it’s single digits and I bust out my Baffins. But I know guys that wear big pack boots when it’s 30 and still get cold feet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I go from one hobby to another usually without a day off in between. Deer season leads to ice fishing, ice fishing leads to getting the boat in the water wherever the ice thaws first to chase salmon and trout. Other than July-sept when I work all my doubles I’m lucky to be outside doing a hobby at least 3 days a week more when I’m off for May and deer season. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Thanks, the drive Monday morning will be crappy but I’ll take my time. I’m more worried about the roads into the state land. As long as they don’t close gates I’ll be fine, we are bringing 2 trucks and I have a winch and a couple comealongs so we’ll be fine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. The shorter the barrel the stiffer it becomes, everything else equal the stiffer the barrel the more accurate and consistent it is. You’ll lose velocity and that will negatively impact the trajectory. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Neither, loud and big flame. If anything they kick less and stabilizing a bullet has nothing to do with barrel length. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Trust me, from someone who loves short barrels there’s a reason why no one makes an 06 with a 16” barrel. If you think you might want a 16” barrel get a 308. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Happy birthday fellas! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Honestly, for 100yd brush gun I can’t think of a better cartridge. Probably why I have 7 or 8 44mag rifles. If a fella was going to buy 1 gun to hunt deer with I wouldn’t recommend a 44mag but for what he’s describing I can’t think of anything better. Inside of 100yds a 44mag will do everything all the other cartridges will do and maybe even better. They also chamber shorter lighter guns in 44 than the other brush cartridges and that’s a big plus. 19. I couldn’t care any less about what you hunt with or buy but I find it hilarious that every “negative/ mixed” comment came from people whom have never killed a deer with a 44mag and every single person that commented that has killed a deer with one all gave very positive reviews. 20. I’ve heard from a few different sources that those are hornady SST’s, rebranded and yellow for TC. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. That’s for the offer, I really appreciate it. The gun didn’t like the browning’s so she’s all dialed in for the SST’s. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Everything expands better the faster it’s moving. Although it’s a big chunk of metal it’s still going slow, for me I’m usually only shooting at does with a muzzleloader and I will only take broadside shots to not waste any meat. When you don’t hit bone to help with the wound channel nothing usually bleeds much. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. A few months ago I gave all my old shotgun sabots to a buddy probably 60 boxes of different varieties. Leaving for Mass tomorrow and i can only come up with 3 different sabots choices locally Hornady sst’s hornady American whitetail and browning copper. I always used Remington copper solids with my scopes gun and buck hammers in my peep sighted slug gun. Can’t find copper solids and apparently buckhammers are discontinued. From what I’m reading online the SST’s don’t expand well and don’t give great blood trails. This might not be a bad thing because I’ll be tracking and may be shooting at the south end of a northbound buck. The whitails are a hollow point so they should expand great but maybe not penetrate as deep. Can’t find any info on the brownings but I like copper bullets. The SST’s shot slightly better than the whitetails but not enough to matter. Just got the brownings today and am heading home to see how they shoot. I’ve been out of the slug game for a long time so if anyone’s uses any of these and can give me any help with them I appreciate it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Not a loss, use them to get it on paper, save the good stuff for dialing in and killing critters. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Not only did I never get much blood but they are absolutely hell to load! 20 years ago they were one of the best options now I wouldn’t use them on a bet! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
