  1. Came home from fishing to this, Delmonico with the fixins and my favorite beer, I was pretty happy! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I actually had a custom sheath made for my old folder out of leather so I can hang it on my belt but it sits in my back pocket. It’s a very nice setup but I always carried a small folder in my pocket as well and just started gutting and quartering with it and never used it so I quit carrying it all together. But I do like the idea of having another good fixed blade. As for cutting out the bung holeo I think 2 1/2” is absolutely perfect because you can’t cut too deep, just burry it to the handle and go to town. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Now we’re talking! Take an inch off each end and it would be perfect!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. If they made that with a 2” blade and a shorter handle I would have to buy one of those. A 3” blade with 7 1/2” overall is too big for my needs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I might have a new reason!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I’ll be gone ice fishing tomorrow and Saturday for the third and fourth day this week. She’ll get flowers delivered at work. She was pissed when I told her I was fishing on Valentine’s Day but she’ll get over it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I got my motorcycle license before my regular license. Went from April-sept the year I was 16 with just a bike. A brand new CBR 600rr that I payed cash for. I kept than one until 2009 and sold it with 67k miles. Now I have an 06 HD Road King 14 Honda CBR 1000rr 12 Suzuki DRZ 400 supermoto. Don’t ride near as much as I did with my work schedule and 3 boats but I do enjoy riding and I have no payments and have the room for them. The HD’s nice for a long ride once or twice a year. The CBR’s nice for when I want to go 0-100 in “holy shit.” And the DR Z is a smile machine, it’s amazing how much fun a 40hp single cylinder bike can really be! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. There’s some other hot powders I use as well but h110/W296 are the old standby hot rod powders. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Around home I almost only handgun hunt. Either a glock 20 10mm, kimber 1911 10mm, custom gp100 10mm or a Rugers BH 45colt. The 10mm are shooting 155gn Barnes tax xp handloads, loaded with green dot powder. The 45colt is loaded with a 200gn Barnes 460xpb with a charge of H110. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I think I’ve shot just about every elite model made and there’s been something about every one of them that’s kept me from buying one. I have zero brand loyalty and buy the bow I like best, I have owned just about every manufacturer but have yet to own an elite, who knows maybe this year it will be an elite. I’ll know in a couple months when the ice is gone and mud season aka bow shopping season arrives. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I shoot every brands top bows every year. If I find one I like better than my current bow I buy it. I think the longest ice kept a bow was my bowtech experience, I kept it for 3 years. My sight is about 20 years old and my rest is 10-12 years old. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I would bet that at least 25% of my coworkers that have retired in the last 2-3 years have moved out of state after retiring. These are people with 50-75k $ a year pensions. One just the other day retired he’d already sold his house and had a house built in NC pocketed a couple hundred grand from the sale after paying for a bigger new house to be built and he’s taking his money and his state pension else where. That’s the worst possible scenario for the state is when someone is getting a pension from the state and they’re sending that check out of state because they won’t see any return on that money. It’s exactly what I’ll do when I retire, sell my place and my camp and head south. I’ll come up with my truck camper for deer season and a few Lake Ontario trips and that will be it. 13. I agree with many points made fellas. “I carry because I’m not a good fighter and I don’t think I would enjoy being raped.” That’s the line I started every one of my concealed carry classes I’ve ever taught. It’s true but it’s not the entire story. I carry because there are bad people in the world that want to do bad things. Every situation is different but I can honestly say I’m not going to shoot someone over my wallet. I’m not going to shoot someone over a robbery at a store I’m in. I will only ever draw my weapon if I need to stop the immediate threat. If I draw and they stop without me having to kill them, awesome if not.... When I was teaching the courses I would always ask a few questions before I started. Basically it was a series of questions that would end and if their hand was still up at the end they were admitting that they didn’t think they would be mentally able to take a humans life. At that time I would return them their money and ask/tell them to leave. If you’re carrying a gun you better damn well know how to use it and be able to use it to kill someone because the only thing worse than not having a gun is having when that you won’t or can’t use. 14. I’m not really seeing it here but the thing that everyone at work kept saying was that they carry for the “public safety” reasons. Not saying I’m running from a threat but I carry a gun for me and mine not to be a the hero. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. A good discussion at work that continued to a group chat about why we conceal carry cane up the other day so I figured I would see what your guys take on the subject is. Why do you conceal carry? Is it for your safety/your families? Do you feel it’s your duty to protect those around you? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Rob I sent you a PM. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. 20fps deviation is very good. 10fps doesn’t amount to an inch until 1600yds at those speeds. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Before I went to war with them and started shooting everyone one I saw it was common for me to see packs of 4-8. After a few years of all out war on them I haven’t saw a track this year in the snow around the farm. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. When I flew with my Ravin it was no issue at all, had it in the factory case. Only thing I did was take off the scope. I packed scope, bolts and broad heads in suitcase. I was hoping they would let me take it as my carry on but they said no so I had to pay the 2nd bag fee. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. That’s what makes the world turn and this forum enjoyable. If we all lived the same and hunted the same it would be very boring. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I can’t add anything to the topic of watches. To be honest I didn’t know anyone still wore watches that weren’t smart watches. What I find interesting is how we all spend money differently. I’m not rich but far from poor I don’t go without much. I would never even consider paying 1000$ dollars for a watch yet I have closets and safes full off 1000$ rifles with 1000$ scopes on them. And a barn full of 500$ fishing rod and reels. That’s what always keeps this forum fun we are all very different from very different lifestyles. As for a pool I can’t stand them, that’s why I have 2 boats. Ones for fishing and ones for pleasure. I thoroughly enjoy anchoring the boat and having some beers, floating on a tube etc. I can’t sit around a pool for 2 minutes before I’m bored out of my mind! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. The mutt and I are out chasing bunnies. I usually don’t shoot them but once in a while I will to remind him why we’re out here. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I’ve killed crows over black trash bags on coat hangers. I now have 3 dozen flocked decoys and I often wonder if they work any better. Scouting and getting permission is 99.9% of crow hunting. I would way rather have crap decoys and a bad caller/calls on good property than the best gear on shit ground. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Some of you really over complicate this stuff. Cut around the brown eye then from sternum down about a ft or so reach up cut esophagus, trim any hangy bits, dump guts and away I go. Don’t want a big hole for crap to get in during the drag. Yes I use shoulder gloves but always throw away the stretch ones that come in the pack, they’re useless and added weight and bulk that’s not needed. Couldn’t imagine carrying a saw and/or an ass tool. All you need is a sharper nice with a 2-2.5” blade. Whole process shouldn’t take more than a couple minutes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. 1st lake George laker of the year! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
