Exactly in my opinion it would take a real schmuck to go on property that they don’t own or have permission to be on. Someone owns it pays taxes on it why the hell should they have to post it? I don’t have a posted sign or my name on my trucks and if they’re in my driveway the keys are in the ignition yet it’s not okay for someone to just come take it without my permission so why in the hell do people think it’s ok to go on land that brings to someone else there’s no difference. If they’re under 180ish lbs and it’s not wet I carry mine as much as possible. 4.5hr drag is no joke! But what else in the world is better than dragging a big buck? I can’t say I enjoy dragging but if I’m dragging that means I just did what I love to do so there not much else I would rather be doing! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

“Improved” if a tree is cut, a trail is mowed, a field in tilled, anything done to the property is an improvement. The trespassers I had trouble with a few years ago got ticketed for trespassing and my property wasn’t posted where they came into it. I had a mowed trail that they walked across and that’s why they were ticketed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If you’re ever arrested for trespassing make sure you make that exact argument to the judge, you’ll get off no problems! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Was up trying to track one for a buddy yesterday and today. Yesterday was perfect! Got within 30yds of a mature buck 4 times and Buddy was never able to get a shot off. Today was awful, got within 50yds of another buck he was bedded under a spruce up hill wind in his face and must have watched us coming for a couple hundred yards. I saw him just before he got up and Buddy never got his gun on him. He has to go back to work tomorrow so I came back home tonight. Don’t let loud conditions stop you from still hunting, you can still get close enough to them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If you were stopped in my front yard and I didn’t know you and I wasn’t out hunting I would probably be coming out to see what the hell you were doing, especially if you were in Camo! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Very very rarely, I got a bino harness this year thinking it would be nice to have binos while tracking and I haven’t used them once so far and will likely never carry them again. I haven’t ever used a range finder on a deer and have owned one for at least 15 years. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I just like being outside, all spring and summer I’m on the water all fall I’m in the woods and all winter I’m on the ice. I’m usually stuck inside at work but even when I worked outside I still was outside every day off. If I had to pick one reason why I do it it’s because it’s all my way on my timeline. If you see your deer go down, do you continue to hunt ?
Buckmaster7600 replied to rob-c's topic in Deer Hunting
I don’t even have to see them go down, if I’m confident in the shot. Especially if bow hunting I’ll stay in the stand, already have to do the work and make the mess cutting one up another isn’t that much more work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
That’s awesome, glad you’re feeling better! Savage 99 is one of my all time favorite guns! I have a 250 as well but I don’t think mine will ever see the woods, I’m usually not a collector of guns I can’t bring myself to hunt with it it’s just in too good of shape. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Who has a Remington model 8 ??
Buckmaster7600 replied to LongWayFromHome's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
I have a 14 and a 141, I will buy a model 8 one the right one finds its way into my hands. The market for them is a weird one, they’re either ruined or very expensive. I don’t want a safe queen I want one I can kill critters with. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
That deer never knew I was behind him until I killed him. He was hours ahead of me all day that’s why I was walking at such a fast pace I knew I had a lot of catching up to do. Most people don’t realize that this time of year it’s nothing for a big woods buck to make a 10-20 mile walk in a day. That’s the main reason why I usually won’t take anything but a smoking fresh track this time of year is because you often don’t catch up to them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Some of it was dragging but I only had to drag him maybe a quarter of a mile the rest a carried him. Only time i dragged him was through the swamp where the muck was deep. I don’t carry a book bag or jacket or anything like that, just sling the gun and drag so no back and forth. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
