41 and quiet here as well

I also pulled the card out of the cam on that watch. Got a spike, a 4, two 8s and a big 11 all hitting the scrape over the last week. The 11 was a new one not seen before. All at night.

11/7 am 48 Got out in the deep hole stand for 1.5 hours with the crossbow. Right after I got in I heard a deer blowing way behind me. I think my BIL jumped it. Then I heard it walk behind me in the thick stuff. It was still dark out so no idea what it was. Just a bit before sunrise I heard another come in from the front. It came right into my lane it was either a lone doe or a big button. Then around 7:45 I had the same doe and fawn come in as I have seen two other mornings here. She is pretty small but after a bit she just gave me to good a shot at 35 yards in my lane. Pulled the trigger and thwap right on the money. No pass through and she takes off. After a couple seconds of her running I hear a crash. It was not in site so I waited 45 minutes and got down and followed a very easy blood trail 50 yards. She was not too big at 90 pounds dressed but I bet she will be tasty! My BIL was out this morn nothing and my bro was behind my house for 9 hours today with a zip. I think those two must smell lol.

Thank you! It was a new experience! I did find carrying the Xbow in the woods is a bit awkward. But 35 yard shot dead on smack.

TY ADK! Well back from LA. Had today off but with the weather crap I went to work. My mother in law called last night and someone hit a buck in front of her house. My daughter told me Tuesday after I left for the airport she heard noise out front and saw a pickup stopped and a guy swinging a rake or shovel handle at something on the ground. Trees blocking her view and the neighbors yelling!! She thinks they hit a deer and were trying to finish it off but was not going out there. I have not run into the neighbor yet I hope it was not a big boy!! Wife is starting to see a lot of dead ones on her drive to work. So the bucks are getting pretty stupid!!

All depends on the situation. Weather, shot placement, deer reaction, location, ground cover(snow)....... The 8 I shot the other day I hit a bit back and up. I saw deer run off arrow in it. Heard a crash. I assessed what I knew and sat down for 45 minutes. Got down dead deer 60 yards. I saw arrow had half of a 30 inch arrow in him angled into the boiler room. I was pretty certain the crash he was dead before he hit the ground but without a through double lung I could not be sure I got both lungs hence the wait.

It would not bother the deer in my area I have seen deer come through 10 minutes after a coyote And they get howling every time the fire whistle blows

Live from the airport! Silly last minute work travel came up. Wife reported like 5 fresh road kills on way to work. I also saw a small buck when i pulled into the airport a few minutes ago. The mornings are still cool this week I would be out for sure! Funny tidbit I am headed to LA and it will be warmer here this week than in LA!

Got called out to LA for work for a couple days so no updates till Friday. Keep nocking em down!!

10/2 am 45 Down in the outer hole stand for 2 hours. Right at sunrise I had a button come down right under me. At 8:30 I had a decent 8 point walk by, stop and pose at 22 yards in one lane then wander up towards my brothers stand. Too bad he is a t work, I sent him a pic though cause I'm nice like that.

10/1 pm 62 Out back in the far stand for 1.5 hours. Nothing going on. My bro and bro in law hunted another spot and both zip as well.

I figure if a move will get you in another watch for a couple hours instead of fighting around where you are ho for it. As stated above avoid making a ruckus around bedding atras

My son had a soccer game this morn so I passed the am watch the boys saw nada. Been running errands and then out for some wings and football watching the wind blow crazy. Snuck in for the last hour or so wind dying a bit but still 60 out

10/31 pm 52 Out back in the far stand for two hours. Nothing but squirrels and the deer my wife saw in the backyard.
