Not much going on the past few days. Passed one 4 point and that's it. Nobody is seeing anything. Had turkeys gobbling tonight and heard one for blow my bil jumped on way out after dark.

I hunted a piece of town land in CNY for many, many years. It butted up to Niagra Mohawk Land as well. When I was a kid we hunted it no issues. I actually called Niagra Mohawk way back and permission from them until they sold and lawyers got worried about liabilities bla bla bla. As the world changed we started to get harassed by local cops so I went to the town and jeesh what a rigamorow that was........ I had a couple connections and an inlaw that new a judge and that was the only way I could stop these yahoos from keeping on pushing me off in a circle of never ending no answers and go see him/her or do this/that. I finally got a signed letter from the town board that I was allowed to bow hunt there and had that to show the cops who were always waiting for me to come out. I could not gun hunt a while before this due to some new building in the area. That worked for a quite a few years until I moved quite a ways away and did not hunt the area any more.

Shad how has it been in 7A for you? I am in 7A as well and man it has been slow slow slow. Deer sightings are not good at all.

Has anybody hunted this state land? And if so impressions for hunting, primarily deer, type of terrain, hunter pressure, interesting info..... Thank you,

Maybe a chat with the neighbor. They may be trespassing and need some assistance in getting off or getting the law involved. Adjust your stands around a bit to put you where you need to be.

Out here with all my tree friends again! 33 calm and quiet. I was sitting here thinking what a crap start to gun season. I have been out a lot and seen 4 bucks, zero does. I'm thinking a deer sighting every 10 hour bad jeesh.

I am sitting in stand right now in shotgun zone so I have Ithica Deerslayer 20 gauge. I use the shotgun early till we get some meat built up. I can and have done a double with the shotgun. After that I go with the TC Triumph. I have rifle spots too and take the 30-30. I did shoot a big doe last year with the 30-30 that I did say I wish I had my 20! I had a head on shot and I though the doe was straighter but anyway it was a close shot maybe 60 yards and hit the chest and out behind left shoulder. The bullet never expanded and just zipped through. She went a long ways. Crossed a road into shotgun zone! I had to drive home to get shotgun. Track her down and finish her off. The 20 at that shot would have dropped her,

35 here was sprinkling but stopped. Bumped one 150 yds from stand on way in. The got set up in stand and 15 minutes later hear crashing to my left and a grunt then more snapping branches farther away. Hoping now that it's light he comes back this way.

11/26 am Lots of nothing. Now to fry turkeys!

My BIL is in my tower blind behind my house says shooting down by my far stand 5 shots then 2 the other side of him close. And I'm of course on another property. Lol

43 here I got a little to warm walking in. Cmon deers!

First big doe comes by bang same with the next! I am not lucky enough to have spots I can shoot a doe anytime. Any adult deer in my spots is an accomplishment ! They be like rare! Lol

I wish there would have been some hunters doing drives near me opening day. Maybe a deer woulda moved!! I hunt a chunk of state and a big group from up north would come down And drive. They would start a couple hours after light. I loved it I would set a spot around the end of a swamp on a pond and just about time I was getting chilly they would push the whole side and swamp to me! I got a few deer from them over the years!! Not enough of them come down anymore but I actually enjoyed using them and it got deer moving, they were only down for first week usually. On public land you gotta roll with the punches. On private well just like you home you might be stuck with neighbors thank ain't so fine. I would think your neighbor driving the shit outa your prop would improve yours.0

29 snow gone crunchy crunchy, I have to make it to work today so hunting behind the house where nothing has been moving last couple weeks but with it being the predicted best deer movement day of the season I was not staying in bed. I just need a lot of luck!
