Man he is dark! Brr cold and windy!

Ok I have been putting this off because I knew it was ugly. Bow season results. Hours in the stand during legal light - 120 hours oh my!! Deer sighted - 38 pathetic Bucks - 12 Dow - 25 Not sure - 1 So I saw 1 deer every 3.15 hours on stand and 1 buck every 10 hours. This is a bit misleading because I had two distinctly different seasons almost. From 10/1 to 10/19 I saw 2 deer in 32.5 hours so 16.25 hours per sighting!! And 10/20 to 11/14 I saw a deer every 2.3 hours. Standing corn really hurt one of my spots this year. It actually was just cut this week. I had an enjoyable season. I only saw one big shooter during light and he was far away and a marginal shooter that I hit a twig on. That ended a 9 year streak of bow deer. Now we return to the gun season!

11/20 an 28 Out back for 1.5 hours this morn. Fresh snow and a bunch of tracks across back of lawn on way in. 2 crossed lawn before I came out. That was it.

11/19 am 18 wind chill 6 Out back for 2 hours. Man it was ccccold! Saw one small one way up ridge at 7:15am looked small. Then walked up one on way out. Walked by me at 20 feet. Just a little one. I did take a pic of it standing under my bros stand and texted it too him telling him it was BIG lol.

Thanks Zem! 11/18 pm cold windy Got up this am and saw the wind and wind chill and said no way. Did get out for the last hour hoping the wind would die off and deer might move. It eased for a bit but picked back up. It is still howling out now at 9:30. Hope the morning is better. I did hear a few shots tonight.

Omg my eyes hurt its so cold out! Wind chill redonkulous! Hoping they have not moved due to wind and its cuts down and they move but time running low!

I hunt pretty much every day during bow and gun so it does not matter much to me. I will say my son is 12 so I will not have to worry about him missing school to catch the opener. When I was a kid that was acceptable, now his teachers would probably give tests on those days to punish the "bad" hunter kids!! I do have friends that have jobs they can not miss and they really like it on Saturday.

Got up this morn saw 20 on the temp and the trees blown sideways and said nope!! Took the two does to the butcher see if I can sneak out for a bit later if the wind drops some.

Love the big woods! Used to hunt Jenkins Mountain area Out past Paul Smiths years back. Had a real camp in Regis. Would love to spike camp before I get too lazy!!

11/17 am 33 Out back for 2 hours. Had a rain snow mix. Saw two just around sunrise. They were a bit on the small side.

11/16 pm 33 Hit same stand for evening watch. Sat for 2.5 hours and nada. Bro in law and nephew saw 3 behind the house in tower no shot.

12/16 am 31 Hit upper hole stand for 2.5 hours pretty quiet. Did see another fisher. Dif property than yesterday.

11/15 28-34 Well we all decided to hunt out behind the house. First opener we hunted here in the 13 years I have been here. So around 7:10 i hear something coming in the pines out front. The snow is crunchy and loud. It ends up being a fisher very cool. I actually call him in to 18 yards to get some vid and pics. While this going on I hear crunching to my right and turn and see deer running in. Two were fawns and a third I could not tell swing out 100 plus yards out then I hear another more right. This was a nice doe and she cut behind me. I was sitting and at a bad angle due to fisher so I had to wait as she walked 20 yards behind me to get by so I could turn. I finally got a steep angling away shot at about 45 yards or so. She hunched up and went about 50 yards and just stopped. Then I saw a flash and lost her. I figured she fell over. So then I sit back down to watch for more. About 20 minutes later I hear more behind me. A doe and fawn are crossing the crick behind me angling down creek towards my nephew I hope. Then a little 4/6 point comes after them. I had a shot at 80 but he was young and was hoping he might head to nephew too. The does turned and went up ridge and the buck stopped when he crossed my dead doe and stayed with her for 20 minutes until I finally got down to try to bump him to my nephew. That did not work so I got back in stand and 10 minutes later a different doe walked out of front of my box blind my nephew and his dad were in and one shot his first deer! Mine His We got those out and hung had lunch and went back in for a short watch. I saw a nice fox. At 2 we went to another prop to hunt last watch. Right away a fawn went by my bro then me. Then right past legal I had 2 fawns and a doe come out and then a small grunting buck chased them away. I saw 12 deer a fisher and a fox and have two doe hanging in the shed! Nice day.

Ended up having a doe and two fawns come up as I was packing up past legal then a buck come in and chase em out. Ended up seeing 12 today. Though 4 just after 4:45. Also a fisher and a fox. I am beat shower, bed do it again

My 14 ye old nephew shot a doe just a bit after I shot mine. He was down the way in my box blind with his dad. His first deer he was stoked! One shot went 20 yards. We got em dressed and dragged and hung up. Had lunch and back on stand. just had fox go by

6:36 here was first shot. I shot at 7:15 nice doe Saw 7 so far 2 doe 3 fawns 1 ? And a 4/6 point I passed hoping it would head down to my nephew. The buck who was following a dif doe than one I shot saw mine laying and stayed with it like 20 min, I finally got down trying to push it down creek that did not work! Also at 7:10 saw fisher, it almost cost me the deer! Nice so far!
