65 out just jumped two browsing does 50 yards from my stand, doh!

11/11 am 54 Out for 3.5 hours behind the house. Had the basket go by about 100 yards out at 8:30. Not responsive at all to can or grunt. Laying off the calls, nothing likes them this year! Pulled clover cam and a real nice 8 was there yesterday morn 1/4 to 8 hmm was at other

11/10 pm Got hung at work so was not going to get out then said screw it 30 minutes better than none. Hit tower 5 minute walk. Getting in it I heard something down the bottom. Get in stand and settled down here comes a deer right at me. Didn't it catch me moving and busted!! lol small flathead.

Pulling the plug soon it is 58 degrees out

Basket buck just passed about 100 yards out looked like one I missed the other night. Man not one buck this year responds to can, grunt....

And remember just because the regs say you can shoot till sunset does not mean it is always safe. I hunt one swamp that on a cloudy day gets too dark to shoot safely before sunset. Like a dungeon in there.

What did blood on arrow look like, little bubbles, slimy, dark, white fat, meat? Did arrow not pass through did you see arrow as deer ran away in deer? How was blood trail? Spray one side, two sides, drops, bubbles, clots, pools. Did deer bed? Did you start tracking right away? Was it noisy did you hear anything while you were tracking? Is swamp a size you can walk around in morning to check for blood trail coming out? Barring any more info, cover every foot of ground for 400 yards in every direction from lost blood. Hope you find it.

Most deer have ticks. Nothing wrong with the deer. Hang over a tarp or big box as the deer cools they will vacate. Or take to butcher or skin like others said. Ticks are part of hunting if you have not seen any consider yourself lucky

Little warm this morn 51 going into mid 60s got the day off so fingers crossed. Just beautiful walk in this morn little before 6, half moon and stars all over.

11/10 am 46 Out back for 2 hours. Jumped a couple by the tower blind going in. Nothing sighted this morning. The tree that I deflected the arrow off its branch yesterday will no longer be an issue!

That would be my question, the suckers. With everything growing straight up do I cut the top off.

Ok so was clearing out a thicket out back and find a couple nice apple trees. They had a few apples but what do I need to do and when to make them turn into producers? The one pictures is 12 - 14 feet tall and as you can see growing straight up. How should I attack it? Thanks.

10/9 pm 46 Back out back for 2.5 hours with bro and bro in law. I heard crashing way out in the pines out front around 3 and I figured deer running so I get ready and here comes that basket from yesterday haulin. He stops 60 yards out for a minute then starts trotting to my right side and I scan ahead and have one good hole. I draw back and grunt he stops perfect in it. I have to bend my knees a bit and crouch to get my sight on him below a branch. Get pin on spot and squeeze. I actually pick up the arrow right off and it is running true and about halfway there snap I hit that twig and threw the arrow off. Buck runs about 30 yards stops and trots off without a care!! It happened too fast and I did not have time to process the arrow arc!! I can promise you that there will be a tree gone tomorrow. I sat there afterward and wondered why I had no good lane in that spot, just never had a shot op there before and I cant cut em all down!! Saw two doe about 10 minutes before sunset behind me they were just browsing slowly out about 80 yards. Down to 5 days of bow. I'll be out every morn and off Friday. Hope I get another shot. The boys did not see anything.

10/9 am 40 Out back with bro for 3 hours and what a bummer after yesterday!! He saw one for a second and I saw nothing.

I think maple! Ah stupid! There will be one less tree over there tomorrow! 6 point just trucked in I had a nice hole my line of site was fine just happened too quick to register! My sight line was just under branch my arrow arc was through it!

Hmm my arrow arcs more than I accounted for anyone got a recipe for twig?
