12/2 pm 33 Got out for just an hour. As soon as I hit the woods a good snowfall started. Had about an inch when I pulled out.
-
Got about an inch of snow last night that started while I was sitting watch. Between them and this morning it musta been a deer party, tracks all over lower end. I came out to the far end not a track. Maybe I shoulda stayed down there but I need to be where they are gonna be not were, hope. 40 snow will be gone soon

I live right down the road from 3 rivers and have not been over there once this year. It gets hunted hard. Don't get me wrong there are deer there and I have seen a couple dandy ones but do not plan on having an uninterrupted hunt. You can get lucky there but you will need to hunt harder/smarter than the rest as well as lucky. Cicero swamp never did it for me either. I lived in Cicero for a decade and spent some time in there. I have started looking into Howland Island to the west and Montezuma. Still learning. Howland gets hunted hard and Montezuma is tough to learn so far. I also go south to Tully with some luck. Truthfully I do not have an answer for you. Public land in CNY gets hunted hard. I will be listening as well if anyone has suggestions. I keep losing spots!

Safe well managed drives I have no issue with. I imagine you are on public land that you think is yours? I agree they can be done not on first or last watch, opening weekend... A good drive is a piece of hunting history, as is still hunting not just sitting on your azz all day. Room for all of us, I especially like when they go past and send me a deer!

11/28 pm Out back for 2.5 hours. I saw 2 again too far out. My bro in law missed a doe

A few years back my brother in law and I were headed down a creek bed in ML and jumped up a 7 pointer. We both pull up and shoot. We get to the deer and look it over and one entry and one exit. We still have no idea who hit it. We split all the deer we get anyway and I have a lot more years and deers so he tagged it. That was another previously wounded one as well had its lower jaw shot was real thin and wouldn't of made it much longer.

First good fatal shot in our group. I remember one opener morn on state I was in a tree above a swamp. After a while I hear bang bang bang bang down in front of me in the swamp. I see deer coming do get ready. Hear come a doe trying to run on 3 legs, one back leg half shot off. I pull up and drop her at 50. Then I see another coming right to me. A fawn at 30 yards gutshot. I pull up and drop that one. Back then it was one doe tag max but it was not a choice I hesitated with. After a bit here come some Elmer following blood trail and gets to me. I ask him how many deer was he shooting at? Says dunno. I was around 25 maybe he had to be 20 years older anyway. I gave him a bunch a shit for spraying poorly aimed billets all over and shooting 2 deer and bad at that. Told him the doe was mine have fun with the gut shot fawn over there.

Saw broke on way back to finish cutting. Tip DEC sure he was not tagging it by those actions

11/27 am blizzard Headed in walked right past nice covered tower blind to far ladder stand. Was snowing a bit. Well got to ladder and it started coming. Got 4 inches in an hour then wind blowing all the snow of branches onto my head! I barely made it till 8 and said heck with it. Head in and hit fresh tracks in front of tower. Pull cam card yup buck, pic was not great due to snow small or broken rack but looked nice size bid. [emoji107] Evening went to tower blind forgot cell hike back in, I am on call 24/7. 15 min since I came in fresh tracks crossed mine headed towards other stand rrrrrr

Sat for 4 hours this morn and did one small drive no luck. Did kick out a yote my bro missed. Ate turkey and decided not to hit last watch. Go Eagles! Oh and gun season is way more challenging to see a deer and after opening day almost impossible to see a good buck.

11/26 am 35 Was out back for 2.5 hours. On way in a jumped one deer right in the same spot as yesterday. I was a bit farther away and it was not as quiet walking this morn. Once he takes off all I can smell is buck stank. I grunt a couple time to try to unscare him(like that word!!). I hear him walking around up the ridge. I decide to back up 80 yards or so and get in my bros hang on. Wished I had of just hunted that instead of going to the far out one. I heard him for a while down left of me but then nothing. It was a really nice morning. Snow coming now, starting to cover the ground I will be sneaking out soon!

11/25 am 41 Out back for 2 hours. It was especially dark going in and real quiet. I do not use a light most of the time. I had a deer blow about 12 feet from me jeesh scared the crap out of me! I wait a few and take another step and another one 10 feet away blows and takes off! Good thing I don't have heart issues!! That was it for the morn.
