JK No it does not need to be in plain sight. I would just put a tarp down. And if you are driving a long distance consider keeping the meat cool.

Sounds good to me I am off tomorrow!!

It happens. I shoot a lot, I shoot very well form all different angles. Every time I head out I shoot one arrow only at the target and hit a bull. I have bowhunted for years and taken many deer with a bow. Even a couple decent ones. And I STILL forget to think when a good deer comes out. I call it a deeranurismstupidismitis. Pick a spot is very good advice you just got to remember it!!

Wow I missed this. Nice buck. He is a pig anywhere in the state but definitely in the southernteir.

If you got out quietly and did not spook him it should be a good day for you tomorrow. Do not go in before light! Wait until good light and I would have two of you if possible. Go slow and quiet and as one person above said one on the blood looking down the other focuses out front and to the sides ready to shoot. Sometimes gut shots can take more than 12 or 14 hours hopefully you clipped some other stuff as well and he is already stiff. Plenty cold out. Hope you do not have a lot of yotes as well.

Definetly better when it is cooler, This time of year the deer have grown in their heavier winter hair. It gets warm and they get less active, I notice most drop in movement anything over 60 for sure but even in the 50's it is uncomfortable for them in my opinion. -
Not a big fan of the time change. I get to get out most mornings and nights now evenings get tough and gotta get up an hour earlier in the mornig ick.

Buck Mounted Camera fighting and Running
Fletch replied to HectorBuckBuster's topic in General Chit Chat
That is cool!! Would not want a box mounted on my head but still cool. I was thinking it must be a fenced ranch because it is probably not legal to do that to a free reange deer. Nice buck at the end!! -
Coll I will pick up one of each tonight.
-
No need to go at 2am! They sell any open units all day. At end of day if quota is hit it will not be available the next day. I forgot it was yesterday so I am hoping 8f and 8j are open I will go tonight and see. I started exploring Montezuma last year and I think it may take years to get a good lay of it without any opportunity to scout. Also have tried Howland Island a couple times.

That is the way to do it take time off work!! I don't work a full week all month!! 4 days work this week, 3 next, then 4, then 2. Gotta have priorities!! -
11/2 am 32 d Got out in my climber this morning behind the inlaws for 2 hours. Around 8 am had a little 4 point come up behind me. He picked me out but could not decide if he liked me or not. He circled behind me and came right out broadside at 15 yards in one of my lanes. He got a pass for now. After he got a bit aways I can called him he did not like that. After he was gone about 15 minutes I hear a deer running so I get ready. A smaller deer is out to my side about 50 yards. It came right from where the buck went. It was a flat head, possible even a button, it went right back where it came from. Then about 20 minutes later I see one walking 50 yards out same spot again. It cuts and come around behind me and I had one quick shot at about 12 yards but I had not gotten a good look at the head to make sure it was not a button so I held the shot. It was a fun morning. I left the climber right there for tomorrow morning. Tonight I will be late working so if I get out at all it will be my quick spot in the field out back where I missed the doe last Tuesday.

11/1 pm 56 d Went to the hole stand tonight. Warm calm and sunny equaled a big fat zero. Could have filled a truck with squirrels out on the sunny day. Hit a bit of a lull here. Thinking about hitting behind the in laws in the morning.

Way to go on the buck!!! I have been thinking the same thing that Zem has I see very little movement on nice days and quite a bit when it is nasty out.
-
Way to stick with it. Nice deer.
