I have been spending way to much time on gunbroker Lately. I purchased this Weatherby Element in 20 GA. Is there a way to mount a red dot on it without getting it drilled and tapped? Anyone ever mount an optic on the rib? I have looked for bracket mounts like I have for my scope on my 870 slug gun but it doesn't look like anyone makes one for this model yet... https://weatherby.com/store/element-synthetic/

Wow Moog, Thanks for the update and praying for the best. One of my employees last year had basically the same issue. She is 60 and a heavy smoker. I really thought she was screwed but it turned out to be walking pneumonia and she was fine in a couple weeks. Praying for the same out come for you and your family!

Congrats! You will love it!. I miss mine. At least until I am scooting off trail, running over trees trying to get to downed deer or bringing a treestand in. Although I did pull a deer it two out with the Raptor...lol

Interesting. Went out with my buddy and his kids this morning and didn't hear a single gooble.

Just got into work. Met my hunting buddy and his two kids at 4:30 this morning. Not sure if it was his kids moving all over the place or not but we didn't hear a single Turkey this morning. That's more what I expected out of Turkey hunting....lol

Tried my hand at my first wild turkey breast last night. Had it marinating in Italian dressing since Saturday. Stuffed it with jalapenos and cream cheese. Wrapped it bacon. It was fantastic! Grr, still can't post a pic...

I wanted a red dot for my Turkey slayer. Was trying to decide between the Vortex Venom and Burris Fast Fire. I decided on the Venom mostly because of what I have heard about Vortex customer service. I got the Venom last Friday. When I opened it I was annoyed that the base was installed, the battery was installed and there was no paperwork at all. I figured I got one that somebody returned. I called the place I ordered it from and they said it wasn't returned but it was their display model. They said I could return it but I wanted it yesterday. I emailed Vortex and told them and asked if they could possibly send me the paperwork I should have gotten. I got a message back within a few minutes saying yes and it was shipping. Came home to a Vortex optics box on my porch. Here is what they sent me... Well I can't upload a picture. They must have overnighted this stuff. I got the paperwork I requested, a hat, Vortex decal, Vortex playing cards, Vortex optics cleaning cloth, extra screws for the optic mount and a torx bit. Thought it was a pretty big box for a tiny instruction manual.

I had a very hard time loading pics when I got the turkey. At first none would load. I kept getting a triangle and I believe it had 200 in it and it said upload failed. I finally was able to get some to load and not others. I wasn't sure if it was the size of the file that determined it but that was my thinking.

I started bow hunting 6 or 7, maybe it's 8 now, seasons ago. As soon as I was in the woods that first day of my first season I thought, why did I wait so long to do this... Well thats exactly what I thought at about 5:30am last Friday 5/1 when I heard my first gobble. Why oh why did I wait so long to do this!!
