I'll do 2 or 3 all day sits every year in an enclosed blind. Coffee, sandwiches and snacks help. I've taken a sleeping bag up there at 10:00 at night and slept there so as not to get busted on the way in for a morning watch. My wife laughs and calls me crazy.

I'm late to the party too, but as a ltd license holder and active tracker, you're asking for a lot of trouble if you take your dog hunting with you. Tracking and hunting are clearly two separate activities.....you're either doing one or the other. Also, you'll learn you want to carry a sidearm while tracking, not a rifle or shotgun.

Lots of great advice here. Definitely leave the tops, as mentioned they'll help protect seedlings. Sounds like sanctuaries and hunting trails leading to the big fields would be the way to go.

Like others have said, lots of unanswered questions. The biggest one in my mind is if you have lots of property and can afford to give up the spot. If not, feud or no feud, I'd tactfully rescind hunting rights.

I did some long range scouting tonight and watched 4 bucks come into the beans. 3 of them were nice enough to have their picture taken.

This is a 1 acre plot that borders my woodlot and 50 acres of beans. Half is in brassicas which were planted July 13th, the other half will be planted around September 1st in winter rye, oats, and clover. Bordering the plot on the right side is a screen of Egyptian wheat and sorghum. The screen could use some urea but I'm not putting it down until we get rain, and who knows when that will be?

I've got a couple new plots this year that are almost impossible to hunt without getting busted coming or going from the stand. I took my excavator out there and solved the problem.

Bean fields are my absolutely favorite food to hunt over. I would expect you to see lots of action.

I love it when the farmer plants beans at our place, which he did this year. I shot my biggest buck in a bean field. A 2 acre bean field would get wiped out here, hopefully that's not the case at your place. Good luck!

I planted a few mounds this year for the first time to see how the deer like them. As far as the deer ruining the plots, your neighbor is a real jerk. Apparently he has no interest in having a good relationship, we'd be in small claims court.

When the farmer I lease to was here working the fields, I asked him to work up an acre for me in the duck pond field. He hit it with his chisel plow, then with the discs. He saved me lots of time and fuel! I'm going to put brassicas in there. Also, I worked up a strip in front of this plot and another to plant Egyptian wheat and sorghum to act as a screen to allow me to get in and out undetected. Screen for new plot Screen for old plot

Waddington man and tracking dog attend 'Trackfest 2016' in Georgia Friday, March 11, 2016 - 8:42 am Updated at 6:36 p.m. March 11 to correct phone number. LISBON -- Tom Rausch of Waddington and his blood-tracking dog Luna recently traveled to Griffin, Ga. to attend Trackfest 2016. Trackfest is held by United Blood Trackers, which is dedicated to promoting resource conservation through the use of trained tracking dogs in the ethical recovery of big game. Rausch, a retiree from the U.S. Coast Guard and the St. Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation living in Lisbon, last year publicly offered the services of Luna and himself to track wounded game for hunters, free of charge. Rausch said the team recovered 11 deer and two bear last hunting season. Trackfest, which attracts trackers from around the country, is a three-day seminar consisting of classroom and field work for the first two days, with field testing for certification conducted on day three.
