Just had a group of 5 out behind house looked pretty healthy even the yearlings looked ok....they were hitting the pine trees pretty hard but looked good weren't skinny and coats looked good...hope the rest look that good....think the crop of acorns and locally the field greens really helped them put the weight on....hope this ends soon for everything's sake....should have taken a pic but didn't think about it.

stoneam2006 replied to Lawdwaz's topic in General Chit Chat
Had to do the number 1 thing I know I'm not supposed to do and pried a patch of the ice off...was pouring in house had to stop it don't think I did anything worse than what was there....gonna be a busy spring summer fall....come on spring -
Hopefully it's right

I am in a rifle county and currently own and hunt with 2 mossberg 500 rifled barrel scoped slug guns. One in 20g one in 12g both are accurate past 100 and even 150 is very very achievable with a well selected round and scope...i personally would not hunt with a smooth bore after using a rifled barrel IMO they are worth ever bit of it....but rounds are drasticly more expensive also...my guns both really like hornady sst 2 3/4 or federal fusion 3 in

I've been seeing lots of deer here in 9x seem to look ok and moving ok....snow is real deep and I'm sure it's causing winter kill to dome extent....my big worry is turkeys and I'm not much of a bird hunter but normally see them in big flocks in the few fields around us and haven't seen any in at least a month or better....i always like watching the birds up behind house doing their dance....one hen has layed eggs on same spot for few years now I'd hate for that to stop

If it's a whole assembly I can't imagine it's that hard...if just putting new fabric on...now way I would try
-
Changing the whole top assembly or just the fabric?

No tin roof....didn't even know you could do tin underlay.....figured tin roof with no gutters best option -

Yea exact same situation here and I've shoveled it off a bunch...still to thick for any melt product to work and I've tried a few....gonna be a busy roofing season I imagine Yea I tried to explain that to a buddy he just don't get it...gutters are nothing but ice dams waiting to happen -
Ice Dam............................................
stoneam2006 replied to Lawdwaz's topic in General Chit Chat
I have shoveled my roof must be a dozen times...ice dams are terrible and my roof is leaking in multiple places...I've done everthing and have a roof getting put on in late August sucks I couldn't get one more winter outta it....I've tried salt I've tried drilling holes thru it and thru gutters as they ar also getting replaced..nothing has worked at all...I've what to do as I'm outta ideas just need a thaw to hit and melt them off and deal with damage I guess.....this damn coal stove has been awsome and terrible at the same time....good luck to all affected hope someone has a way to fix it....share here lol -
He's a big motorcycle guy also

Yea from where I grew up to where I live now is quite a change...i spent alot of time in Cohocton as my grandma owned a B&B there and i lived in Hopewell. I still hunt alot of the state land up there as well as alot of land down here in olean. Love the lakes but love the country setting here more.
-
Canandaigua lake is only thing beside parents I miss about living there

I almost hit one on way home from work last night he took a dive off edge of road instead of their trail and was almost completly gone....had a real hard time getting out...

There is definitely ways to release unwanted catches. But as Phade said location and placement deters alot of those problems. Phade what's the trapping forum?
-
I don't but buddy's on fb do and they are having a great year I guess....fish seem to be biting anything they say.
-
Hope this ends soon....seem pretty desperate around me too....see them in road every night browsing the edges where plows get down to geass/weeds
