A lot of people miss the subtlety of the way the President operates politically. He and Kanye apparently get along, but that's not the reason he was invited for lunch and allowed to speak like he did. And I'm certain that Kanye went along with it willingly. He's not the "House Negroe" that someone on CNN claimed him to be. He made several very salient points during his speech. Now think about how absolutely, over-the-top enraged the Liberals and leftists are about the whole thing. They're dropping their proverbial pants on the air to criticize West. They're exposing themselves for what they are, and the President is smiling about that.

Thanks for the interest. I've been mostly flat on my back for the last several days with some bizarre malady. I'm feeling a little better, so I'll see if I can get some photos.

I'll bet they even go snipe hunting for bait. Those right-wingers will never stop. I wrote the snipe comment before even reading the article. It was the first thing that crossed my mind. Funny stuff. And you know someone will take it seriously. That's what scares met scares me. -

She got a paycheck for telling a story. You'll see it two or three more times over the next couple of weeks. The Leftists don't have a single thing for the midterm election and they're panicking. -

Sorry folks. That whole trunk reference was out there and I had to reread to actually connect it. I get ahead of myself sometimes. -

I own a Ford, but I wouldn't get anywhere near that one even if it was free and the trunk was filled with Clinton Cash. -

People like Fenstien, Schumer, Schiff Swalwell, Blumenthall...I'll run out of allowable content space before I run out of names for that list...These people are all evil scum. Vote them out..It's the only recourse we have. Kick them out of office. -
I had one sit under me and my camp stool to get out of the rain one time. Right between my boots.. I can only guess that he was wondering why a human would sit in the rain for as long as I did. I think he might have mumbled something like "birdbrain" when I finally picked up to leave.

Very nice!! TAKE YOUR KID HUNTING should be an annual American tradition and holiday. Actually it was way back in the day. Opening day of either deer or pheasant season was a free GET OUT OF SCHOOL DAY pass. My how things have changed. Then again having a big sack of trapped muskrats and raccoons, and a .22 rifle in my locker was entirely acceptable then as well. Never hunted deer very much with my Dad because he was always the designated driver for a bunch of his friends who were basically there to drink and play cards. Probably a good thing that he didn't take me along because I stayed home drinking and playing cards with my own friends Lots of mornings in duck blinds though, and I used to put a lot of those little rubber patches on his chest waders for him. He has Alzheimer's now and we're slowly losing him. It breaks my heart. It really is "The Long Goodbye". Take your kids hunting, camping, fishing and make memories. There are no do-overs or reset buttons on this folks. You do it now or it'll be gone forever. Sorry for the sermon.

HMMM, I smell venison backstraps cooking. It may just be projection.

Beautiful buck, my friend!! Congratulations on the early season score!!.

Even getting out to try and get back later is not good. Stay put in the stand. That's why you bring snacks and sandwiches .That deer has no idea what happened and will lie down and die unless you give it a reason to get up. I'm old, and some call me dumb, but you don't push a wounded deer unless you feel like tracking for a few days. I've recovered deer that were completely bled out and still running to get away. Animal instinct. It's what they do to survive every day.

I think I would draw the line before kittens. Chipmunks are a different story, however. It's hard enough just catching them. Using them to catch my dinner is kinda like payback. I feel the same way about field mice. STAY OUTTA MY TRACTOR'S AIR INTAKE.

Thanks guys. I try to pound this into the heads of new hunters on a regular basis. The primary point of hunting is killing. If you have no interest in killing carry a camera. That killing happens primarily from blood loss. You can't scare a deer to death no matter how loud your gun is. If you don't give the animal time to die then you end up chasing it. Not good for you, as a human, and very disrespectful of the animal.

Not saying that at all. Multi-stage presses are very capable machines when properly set up. My point was more about people not willing to work at being proficient with their firearms, and then trying to substitute quantity of ammo for marksmanship. I see it a lot. My apologies if that point didn't come across.

Everyone today seems to want what they want immediately. There is no difference between a burger and fries at some drive-thru window and a box of ammo. What the heck ever happened to "patience is a virtue"? Sure, I'm impressed that you cranked out 10,000 rounds of ammo for your pistol yesterday. Now hit that target with your first shot because it's the only shot you're going to get before the target shoots back. Hmmmm. We seem to have a problem.

The advice given here is generally solid. But even climbing out of your stand to look for the arrow could get that deer up and moving if he's close by and can hear you. That's the last thing you want to have happen. I hate to be coarse about it but you want him to lie down and bleed to death. That's the point, so to speak, and that won't likely happen if he's being chased. Apparently you're already moving, but next time use your binoculars from the stand. It will take you some time with the binos to locate the arrow and study it through the glass, and to look at the blood in the area and give everything a thorough look. Point one: It will keep you in your stand for a couple of critical hours. Point two: It will make you a better observer through your binoculars.

I've been reloading for over 4 decades and have never seen a worn out single stage press. Even the 80+ year old one I learned on 40+ years ago is still as solid today as it was the day it was built. It's pushing close to it's 100th birthday!!! Might have to throw a small party for the old gal. Thanks for all the ammo baby. I can't speak to the multi-stage setups because I've never owned one. From what I understand though it's very much a case of buy once, cry once. You get what you pay for. I've always looked at reloading as being kinda similar to having sex. If your main focus is just getting it over and done with, you're probably not doing it right.

A lot of municipalities won't allow those as a primary heat source. The insurance folks tend to investigate that sort of thing so it does get around.. They're real nosy and like talking to anyone who'll listen.

The chipmunk was really annoying. Out of my wood pile and out of my life, and I got a tasty fish in the deal.. Over and done.

I guess that killing one is the point. But sometimes it's fun to just watch them. I guess it really depends on what you have in your refrigerator for dinner.- 10374 replies

Sounds like a done deal. Those big lures aren't cheap. The last time I fished for big pike I caught a chipmunk to use for bait. Sorry I even said that. Call the PC police.

Not sure I should even share this here. A little explanation about the new girlfriend because I consider you guys friends. And she may commandeer my profile on the site at any moment anyway. She'll be 28 YO next week. I'm a 59 YO crusty and cranky white SOB with a bad attitude and a bunch of guns. But she's very smart and very cool about everything, and funny as hell too. She's one of the coolest gals I've ever been around. It's sad that I have socks older than she is. She's also black. Not cocoa brown or cream in coffee black. I have to ask her to smile in a dark room so that i can even see her. Someone in the local American Legion called her a N888888 the other day, and people thankfully stopped me from killing the guy. Who the heck would even say that? I'm trying to get her a job in DC working for Charlie Kirk at Turning Point USA. She seems to think I want get rid of her. Take me with you baby!!!- 10374 replies

I saw two does earlier today drinking iced tea and lemonade. Maybe that's the ticket. A Lemonade stand in the woods. I could do that. Both deer and hunters would be welcome.- 10374 replies
