  1. Interested in the price for sure, almost tempted to stash on away for a future project
  2. I quit reading the tread at the book of revelation reference.
  3. Bill I think we're practically neighbors..
  4. This gets better every freaking page. Statistics from one of the most well regarded biological programs in the country are thrown out the window in favor of Anecdotal observations on your back 40.
  5. Neither should be killed, unfortunately we have hunters here that will shoot anything with a bone sticking out of their head. So we are stuck doing the best we can with the simpleton clientele we have.
  6. It makes perfect sense, why is so hard to grasp a simple concept. Right now both of the above bucks may/could get killed . With ARs one will not get killed and one/could may get killed. Pretty simple.
  7. Yea Wyoming is already the most expensive state to build points in, now it is even freaking worse.
  8. The big picture is that if you compare southeastern take vs central-west you see a reduction of yearling take of close to 25% keeping in mind that reduction is carried over and has been yearly lowing the total yearling avg on the state level. Every other chart on that page lends it self to a reduced yearling take in AR regions with an increased age class of bucks being harvested.
  9. My Weber cover cracked and looked like shit after two winters. Hopefully you have better luck
  10. Yep it's going through the roof lol. DEC is stating a five year increase of less then 5%. Keep in mind that this has only been measured from when...?.....well when AR units were implemented. What would these number look like if AR were taken out of the avg? Most likely the same as the pervious 20 years. You want the same result keep doing the same thing. % Buck Take ≥ 2.5 Years Old 2010 ....44.9% 2011 .....45.8% 2012....43.7% 2013.....48.2% 2014....51.8 % 2015 ...52.8% Are ARs the be all end all? No. Are there better regulation changes? Absolutely. However the push back on them will be even greater. Unfortunately we are dealing with dimwits so we're forced to take baby steps. You want results go to: 1) One buck only tag for the entire season. 2) No either sex tags 3) non transferable DMPs that are unit specific. 4) 9 or 10 day state wide regular season after the rut. All of these implementations would be better in the long run then AR however the same hunters that are crying in here would cry their eyes out. So your stuck with either the status quo or half ass AR's and we continue to keep NY deer hunting near the bottom of the barrel compared to the rest of the country ( except the NE states which do an even worse job then NY...hard to believe).
  11. Because most of them shoot the first buck they see, then use their wife's tag on it and then hunt the rest of the year, waiting for a big one. Then they cap The first scrub they see on the last weekend and tell their buddies how they tagged out. Or maybe none of the hunters who kill the 40 plus % of Yearling bucks don't have Internet? After all they are hunting to feed their families could afford Internet.
  12. Great let's go one buck tag per license to be used in any season. Cut the regular firearms season back to a statewide 9 days staring dec 1 yearly. Forget any AR. Bring enough rope for a comfortable hanging when you propose it.
  13. Your probably right. Points have been a big ponzie Game. I did a similar thing with a large plot of land in NY in regards to my yearly bowhunting for whitetail. The money I took out of the land and the taxes saved let's me bow hunt for three weeks out of state yearly for whitetails in better places and better deer then I could ever hope for on my land, and further more I spend less money doing it. In fact I am selling my remaining property for the same reason. As for a BH sheep I might just get sick for it and go hunt Canada, who knows? Otherwise I been burning all my points the last 5 years. In the next 15 years I am looking at 3 premium elk tags and about the same excellent mule deer tags. After that I am out of the point game. I been booking landowner tags and Canada will keep me hunting till I can't hunt any more.
  14. Regardless if AR is the best implementation for a law change its still a change from the status quo which many are not satisfied with. I.e. Many see it a a step no matter how small in the right direction, that may lead to bigger more effect steps at later intervals.
  15. You are correct, I missed it my first post. I guess also you can add to that Shiras moose we have no option to purchase a tag so we're stuck spending 20 years drawing. I put myself in the same shoes in regards to a big horn-tag, in that yes I can go hunt them in Alberta to the tune of 55k however I am not going to. So the 4-5k I spend on drawing a tag over 20 years in three states is a somewhat justified expense. Their is always hope that some state address the point creep issue they created as well. Similar to what Arizona did last year with their reg changes however I think we can all agree that more drastic changes over several years will needed in more then one state.
  16. Satisfaction survey? Sure it has to be cry babies. Never mind the fact that there are plenty of NY hunters who take their time money out of state yearly and those hunters just my have an expanded pool of experiences to base THEIR options and satisfaction on. So joe blow that hasn't hunted anywhere but uncle mikes back 20's opinion is valid however someone else's has no validity. Add in conspiracies and DEC backhanded innuendos and you have a viable forum consensus. What a typical crock of shit.
  17. I have a Webber genesis also, got it locally from a hardware store I think is a bit over a 1k out the door. It been a great grill for us.
  18. The only tags that would be worth anything is the sheep and moose tags. Both have decent units in WY, the MG tags are poor at best.
