  1. Arrow, As the law is right now you have to be almost a parapalegic to qualify for a crossbow or draw lock in this state right now. Guys like Biz would not be able to utilize one as the law currently is. True on the crossbow. Not true on the draw lock. They changed the rule to allow them with a permit. Should be legal starting this year. Do you have a link to that? That may help my father if he meets the requirements The DEC hasn't updated their website (in, like, 3 years) but if you google the 2010 NY crossbow bill you'll find it.
  2. OK, lets see if we have this straight. 40 years ago, compounds may or may not have been illegal. In any event, they were allowed into the bowhunting woods 40 years ago. Before compounds were in the woods, crossbows were illegal. 40 years ago, when they decided to allow compounds into the woods, they still determined that crossbows should remain illegal. In the 40 years since compounds were allowed into bowseason, they STILL do not feel that crossbows should be allowed into the bowseason (even though the "precedent" had been set with compounds.) That about sum it up?
  3. So you have no evidence that compounds were once illegal? Or that releases were once illegal? Your whole analogy hinges on those facts. Are you just making the whole thing up? How old are you, anyway? Were you even in the trenches back in those days?
  4. I didn't ask what the opinion on the street was. I asked for evidence that were illegal. I'm almost 50, and I don't recall it. Even if it were true....they decided to allow compounds and releases, but kept crossbows illegal. What does that tell you, Steve-O?
  5. I don't ever remember a time that compounds or releases were specifically called out as illegal equipment, or having to lobby to get that law changed. You have a link?

  7. That's too bad....good luck to you. Have you looked into the draw lock provision that passed with the crossbow in gun season bill? My understanding is that allows the use of a draw lock for those with a permit during bowseason.
  8. That's what they SHOULD do. It would maximize revenue and eliminate the controversy. Win-win. Alas, it makes too much sense for our lawmakers to do the obvious right thing.
  9. You guys have already proven that you are not satisfied to have it simply legal. You insist on forcing it into bowseason. Screw it....let it expire. LMAO.
  10. LOL. I love how you call opponents losers, then reveal you wanted full inclusion. News flash....you didn't get full inclusion. Losers.
  11. Yup....the high fuel prices are going to slow or reverse the economic recovery. >
  12. That's a tad dishonest. The goal is obviously to keep them out of bowseason. The philosophy was straight out of the NRA playbook.....don't give them an inch, they will take a mile. Sure enough...you crossbow pushers finally got your inch, and now you are pressing for a mile. Still, the ultimate objective is to keep crossbows out of bowseason. Do you really think anyone cares if someone uses a crossbow during gun season? LMAO. NYB lost the battle...but not the war. The laws are written very deliberately...there can be no confusion that crossbows are treated like firearms, not bows. NYB is still positioned well....we'll see how it goes from here.
  13. OR..... I am more rational than you, and can control my temper better. No need to fly off the handle over a discussion.
  14. Because? I have the legal documentation. I have the legal weapon. I'm in....crossbows are out. LMFAO.
  15. Ditto. But I already knew that... You don't act like it. You jam your opinion down everyone's throat on every thread you post on. If they disagree with you, you threaten to punch them in the mouth. Your credibility is worthless. You should zip it, and go away.
  16. Said the name calling whiner. They are opinions..chill the **** out. I think you are equally obtuse, yet I do not feel the need to punch you in the mouth.
  17. It has nothing to do with being "threatened." Crossbows have no business in bowseason. If people want to bowhunt, they should learn to use a legal bow. This isn't rocket science.
  18. I bet we have far more in common than you think. Chill out. Your bullying doesn't scare me.
  19. Can't help but to try and start crap huh? You can't even tell the difference between expressing opinions and getting all worked up. you're nothing but a trouble maker...I'd love to meet you because personally I think you need a good punch in the mouth. Wow. You are a high strung fella. And a model citizen, threatening violence and all. :
