What is this country coming to??
nyantler replied to Deerthug's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
I look at it more that the school is not promoting anything.. the private individuals attending the school are just excercising their religious rights... the school itselfs and its officials I agree should not promote such things, but they should not be keeping kids from expressing their rights if they so choose.. school songs, slogans, or even maybe school prayers would have been created by the kids that attended the school and wouldn't have been imposed by the school officials or any government... if it has been good enough for the majority of the students for so many years and has been accepted by that majority.. I don't see the problem... I see it more as the will of the people not the imposition of the state -

You only have to read his Letter of Separation in it's entirety to see that he said exactly what I just said... and for the sake of argument I'll concede that he used the term first and radical liberals have used the term in a way not intended in his letter to further their assault on religious freedom... specifically Christianity. -

Separation of church and state is a liberal made up term... the Constitution states.."Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof... nothing there suggests that religion and politics do not mix or that there is a separation of church and state... just that government will not tell people which religious belief to have... free excercise thereof would mean that religion anywhere is fair game as long as government isn't imposing that religion on the people... people have the right to promote any religion they like.. and the right to deny any religion they like... posting a prayer on a school wall or in public if done so by the people should be their right... one person not liking it does not constitute imposition of that prayer on that person by the state or even by the people for that matter... -
Never thought I'd see a clothing designer touting furs being eco friendly... good video that actually makes some sense

I am not calling you a liar at all.. just saying that everything you have said is your version... even what you said your neighbor said.. we have only heard it from you... I could just as easily say that I spoke with your neighbor and he told me a different story... one sided stories always come out in favor of the person telling the story.. yours is no different.. like I said.. I'm sure if the guy you're fueding with told his side... he could make you sound like just as bad of an A-hole... I'm not saying I do or don't believe you... I'm just saying your track record with these kinds of encounters seems a bit distrurbing to me...

You would be hearing in the news about the guy that gave the school district a piece of his mind if that was my kids school... I won't even tolerate that kind of indoctrination what so ever... I would be that schools worst nightmare... I would have told my kids to stand regardless of what the school policy was.. and would back my kid all the way.. I'd have news people knocking down the principles door every day.. and the school board... I would raise such a ruckus that they would let my kid stand just to keep the peace. To many have fought to hard and too many have died for them to disrepect America by not standing for the Pledge... I'll be damned if anyone is ever going to tell me or my family that I can not stand for the pledge... and as for taking off ones hat during out National Anthem... they better not be in arms length if they have a hat on... I very seldom get angry, but disrepect for what our soldiers have fought and died for is something that i have NO tolerance for. I'm angry just hearing you tell the story... Please don't tell me the name of the school!! LOL -
It is true that an area can be affected short term by taking too many deer.. but as the deer numbers get lower.. the amount of habitat for other deer is opened... new deer move in... remember the ones moving in have no idea why the others aren't there.. it only knows that there is less competition for food in that area. Continued hammering of a piece of property might make it take a bit longer for the population to regain itself, but if there is food and shelter they will come... at least thats what they have been doing for thousands of years.

Sorry guys I couldn't resist... the truth is I wasn't smart enough on this subject to give a real answer.. I was hoping I might learn something from other answers

man .. that camera takes some beautiful pics!!

We only have your version , not the other guys... I would expect that his version might be just as convincing as yours in his own defence of what happened.. very easy for a one sided conversations to play against a person that doesn't get a chance for rebuttal.. just sayin'... and with your track record with these types of encounters I'd be inclined to hear the other guys version before giving you a shoulder to cry on.

I like it!!! -
I think you miss the point of the differece between welfare (government entitlements and the dispersal of other people money without their consent) and charity... not a single post has been made here condemning charity... charity is giving while welfare is taking... absolutely not the same.

I have always said that there is no lack of deer.. just hunters lacking the ability to see them... I was with a bunch of deer hunting friends at an annual gettogher we have last night... we discussed how stationary hunting (treestands, blinds.. etc) which is probably the most popular way off hunting today... may be the reason some hunters don't see the deer they use to see... not all treestand hunters spend time scouting or even changing their treestand locations during the season... as I'm sure many have already learned.. deer patterns change like we change our underwear... to continue doing the same thing day after day and complaining that there are no deer..in most cases is just a product of not doing what needs to be done to put yourself where the deer are... I have hunted days hard from the ground even... where I just didn't see a thing... it is only natural to start thinking that the deer just aren't there... only to show up the next day with evidence of many deer.. noticable by the vast amounts of tracks in the snow... all it says to me is that I just wasn't on my game the day before... I try never to blame my inability to see deer on the deer population, but rather on something that I need to change with respect to how I'm hunting. Every day is different, every season is different and every hunter is different. The population of whitetails continues to remain rather consistant.

I think you hang all the chicks on a line and the ones that are better hung are the males..

I've seen my children born... thats proof enough for me that their is a God.. ... religion IS a belief.. A belief in the existence of God.. if it isn't real .. it doesn't exist.. what kind of a born again Christian doubts the existence of God?? Nobody should have to prove the existence of God to a true believer... "I AM"... I believe that is how it is written in the bible. Taking care of the needy should not be the same as taking care of the greedy...
