I am not saying that it isn't a great buck.. or that it isn't great that it was found... I was expressing a personal feeling about if it had happened to me... again.. the difference for me would be whether I spent 6 days actively looking for the buck without hunting... or whether I was hunting those six days and happened on the buck. There is a difference in my eyes... as soon as you pick up your bow and continue to hunt for another buck you have just resigned yourself to the fact that you lost that buck.. meaning if I found the buck while hunting or someone else found it while I was hunting it would be a found buck that was given up on. If I didn't hunt and continued looking for the buck everyday for six days.. I would consider that a harvested buck because I did not resign to the fact that the buck was lost and continued to pursue it until found... regardless of the shape the deer was in when I found it... it's about the action taken after that in my opinion matters...

That is my posiition on finding a kill 6 days later.. unless I spent all those six days strictly looking for that buck and not continuing to hunt. It's what I would do personally.. not suggesting anyone else has to live by that rule.. I guess it depends on how you feel after you find the buck...six days after the fact for me would be a lack luster feeling...that wouldn't take away from the buck still being a great buck.. I just wouldn't consider it a great kill on my part especially if I or someone else came upon it six days later by accident while hunting...and I don't know if thats what happened here... so I am not passing judgement just telling my feelings if it happened to me.. by the way it is a magnificent buck.. is that your buck?

Common Sense Law or Zero Intelligence?

I see death coming to you and me one day also. You can be sure we won't escape it. Should I spend every minute of the day worrying about it? I sure won't. Death is inevitable.. gun ownershiprights and hunting rightsdon't have to be.. thats the difference -

Is the NRA giving us a con-job ???
nyantler replied to fasteddie's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Thats what non-profits do.. solicit money... you don't have to give any after you pay your yearly dues if you don't want... the fact that an organization that you belong to solicits money from their members regularly.. shouldn't be a reason to get all up in arms about (no pun intended).. I'm not saying it isn't annoying sometimes, but certainly doesn't sour me on the NRA. -

The truth is he probably never will top that one...the buck is now the #4 all-time typical with a gun in NY.. but I'll bet he'll be out there next year trying!!

Maybe NY State should implement this type of program

Common Sense Law or Zero Intelligence?
nyantler replied to Mr VJP's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
A sensible gun owner would know that our 2nd Ammendment right has and will always be in jeopardy as long as we have gun owners that think like you do... You may be willing to compromise but my right to keep and bear arms may not be infringed in any way shape or form. A criminal is a criminal no matter his weapon of choice.. we already have laws to for criminals.. we don't need laws that impede a law abiding citizens right to own any firearm... the laws are suppose to be made for those that misuse that right and break the law... keeping me from owning an "assault weapon" has done nothing to stop criminals from still using them, the only thing it has accomplished is keeping me from owning one. -

well my opinion is that the only reason you think it's pretty crap is because it isn't the same opinion as yours..lol... Arrow seems to have a thick enough skin and able to fight his own battles.. he's been doing just fine -

Yeah well his lack of class before that was the issue... the backpeddling when you are proven wrong is just a defense mechanism... and if you read further in the post ... he still states that we must wait to see the follow up report.. still questioning the result -

I usually spend the summer shooting in an outdoors at different bow shoots around the state... this timeof year its fun to do some stump shooting in the woods behind the house with my recurve... I also have a 3D target set up year round in th back yard.

I would think your chances of getting hit by a deflected crossbow bolt is the same as a deflected compound arrow or for that matter lightening... I know of only one death in NY in the last 30 years from a deflected arrow... and it was from a compound.. and that guys was one unlucky guy -

I read your idea.. but I don't get the point...you will already need to complete a crossbow course to use a crossbow in NY for 2011-2012... -
Check out this ride... 1930 Henderson "Streamliner".. what I wouldn't do for one of these
