  1. Who's going to pay the union dues?.. the athletes?.. the unions must really be hurting for money... I heard the unions are big in support of this with all the drop in union member as of late. They will ruin college sports like they did manufacturing in the US.
  2. I love when guys use the phrase "internet tough guy" then invite you to come kick their ass for real... tells you everything you need to know about the guy. Some of those guys might want to be careful what they wish for... just sayin'.
  3. You two can have fun convincing each other of your "facts".... the rest of us will continue in the real world. Have fun with this thread I have a feeling you'll be alone from here on out.
  4. Well if they are going to bring in a union... maybe it is time that scholarship money should be considered as income to the athlete and taxed or we could not give them a scholarship and pay them what the scholarship dollar amount is and let them pay their bill with that. Collective bargaining will kill college sports as we know it... and remember you can't unionize one sport without unionizing them all... girls included.
  5. Nope this is a real bow
  6. True... Most hunters are more worried about someone else killing "their" deer instead of concentrating on hunting and killing it themselves. To be so worried about crossbow hunters that you would not hunt for two weeks of bow hunting because they'd be in the woods is ridiculous. Like biting off your nose to spit your face. All this stuff is going to be a distant memory without a hitch before you know it... just like with the intro of the compound... this is just like it was then.
  7. I'm of the thought that when you talk loud enough people listen... the more noise the gun owners make and the more they get out their message the better chance of gaining ground with those non-gun owners that might be on the fence about Coumo... Reminding people that once one Constitutional right can be infringed so can others... people need to know that this isn't just about guns... it's about giving the government or anyone else the power to stomp on the Constitution... it sometimes takes just one brick to be removed to bring the whole building down. If you haven't noticed the government intrusion on religion, speech, guns, search and seizure and State rights... then you haven't been paying attention. There are many people still asleep out there that need to be informed and woken up... apathy and defeatism isn't going to get that done. The independent voting block is the biggest and can be swayed with proper knowledge of the issues.
  8. I applaud you for getting youngsters into hunting with traditional equipment (longbow and wooden arrows). I have nothing against crossbows and compounds, but its' nice to see that you're introducing them to real archery. Good job!
  9. You truly are delusional.. show me one case where either QDMA or B&C used a high fence to put money in their coffer... all deer farms do is feed the demand of other deer farms... QDMA and B&C have nothing to do with deer farms... and never have
  10. LOL.. I was reluctant to add your quote because of the length, but what the heck... our difference of opinion I believe stems from our different styles of hunting. I am sure I would have a similar view if I hunted the same way as you. I don't experience a lot of the negative stuff that other hunters do... I'm not sure if that is because of the places I hunt or my different view of what hunting is... maybe a bit of both. There is probably a bit of selfishness in all of us to some degree that also shapes our opinion as well. I think very little about other hunters during hunting season... I'm too busy hunting and having fun... very few of the new laws and rules passed ever seem to affect me or my hunting experience... as you already know, I do have an opinion on many subjects when it comes to conversation and I certainly like a good debate... but the truth is none of it matters much to me when it comes to my personal hunting experience. Life is too short to let trivial stuff get in the way of the things I enjoy doing.
  11. Crowded would be a reason to belly ache... but as of yet nobody knows if any of that will happen. There is way more public land in NY than there are people to hunt it if hunters get away from the roadways and into the woods.
  12. I like to think that preaching to the choir is what gets the choir talking more and more about the preacher to others...which makes the congregation larger... If the preacher stops preaching to the choir, nobody goes to church and the church dies. Preaching, to whom ever gets the word out and ensures the continued existence of the church. Defeatism and apathy have been the bane of gun owners to this point.
  13. That is correct about bow hunters... but an increase in hunter numbers in any season does not necessarily equate to "excess" hunters. What is considered excess to some would not necessarily be excess to others. The guy who wants 100 acres of public land to himself might consider one more hunter in the woods excessive. I'm sure there are some public lands in NY that are small enough where added hunters could become an issue.. but for all the talk there is about increasing hunter numbers for the sake of deer population control and the future of hunting... there seems to be a lot of concern by some at the prospect of additional hunters in the woods. Can't have your cake and eat it too. I don't see hunters giving up gun hunting for crossbows... I could see an increase in overall numbers before that... but like you, I won't believe any of it until I see it. I just think the crossbow will be a non-issue in years to come and fully accepted by bow hunters... much like the compound.
  14. Great shots Wooly!!! That fox seems to like posing for the camera.
  15. Yeah I'm sure the public lands will be overrun with crossbow hunters... and so what if they are... there was a time not long ago when there were twice as many hunters in the woods as there are today and everything was just fine... for those that feel crowded move farther than a few hundred yards off the road or I know of 6 million acres of state land that doesn't get hunted near enough where you can hunt. I've been hunting public land for nearly 40 years and rarely see another hunter in the woods. There is this big push to get more people involved in hunting in NY.. well, there ya go... now we'll have more... what's all the belly aching about?
  16. The QDMA & B&C are both non-profit organizations... I can assure you that neither is about money. The only money operation is deer farms like yours... you have everything to gain by passing on the nonsense you've been posting. Again, you certainly understand nothing about CWD.. that is apparent with each post.
  17. I know him as well... all I can say is that he is a bit shady and it didn't surprise me to find out the CWD was found at his place. I wouldn't have him stuff a pillow for me.
  18. With all due respect... it is not understandable to want public woods to yourself.. that's why it's called public... there should always be a certain expectation that you may encounter undesirable situations when hunting public lands. Especially smaller parcels. Selfishness is not a good argument, especially when there is no evidence that there will be less opportunity anywhere or the huge influx of new hunters that you suggest. I don't think I have said this before but I believe that the real reason there was such a push back against crossbows at all was because of NY Bowhunters and there selfish vendetta against them. The buzz they started put a bug in the ear of a lot of other bowhunters that jumped on board gumming up the works for introducing crossbows into NY hunting. Not just trying to keep them out of bow season, but out of NY all together. This single issue consumed the club. I was a proud member years ago until I witnessed things by club officials that I won't mention here that soured me on the clubs real intentions... the crossbow issue was the end of the club for me.
  19. Show me the post where I jumped on your brother... I asked him a question... which he didn't answer and you did with a childish response... you didn't need to even get in a conversation with me. So I believe that is where I got your post to quote saying I had a difference of opinion than others which I assumed meant you and your brother... your anger is what got the best of you here not me... but you did the usual thing guys do when I touch a nerve.. attack my website...lol... yes I am opinionated just like the rest of the people who post here... if opinions bother you then it's probably time to take your ball and go home... or maybe just mind your own business when nobody is talking to you.
  20. I wasn't even talking to you in the first place.. how did you get involved in this? But since you are now... you were the one who said something about guys like me acting a certain way to those that have a different opinion... so if you say you have a different opinion then that must be you're against crossbows, because I'm okay with them. But that really isn't even what your post was responding to... it was butting in on a question that wasn't asked to you... your reading comprehension is so good you don't even know when you're reading something directed at you... got your panties all in a bunch for nothing really.
  21. Neither of you answered my question yet... what about the crossbow has you all stirred up? I thought the girl question was legit based on how childish you were acting over a crossbow...
  22. Very cool! I like the half mount too...
