  1. Sorry I forgot to mention that some of your posts simply make no sense at all... I have no idea what the hell you're talking about.
  2. If you think about it... even if all the talk about coyotes killing deer were true...every coyote in NY would have to eat 10 deer per year just to keep up with hunters and twice that to keep up with population growth... it just isn't happening. The truth is that the combined effort of hunters and coyotes are barely making a dent in NY whitetail populations.. except maybe in some smaller habitats... and even there they are not decimating herds
  3. I'm sure you didn't see this all over Wayne county or more than a few times... that is considered isolated. I never said coyotes never kill deer.. I said deer are not anywhere near the top of their list as a food source.. coyotes are not in the habit of tracking down and killing whitetails.. they do not hunt in packs like wolfs for animals twice their size despite all the tall tales being told that they do. In rare cases they may gang up on a wounded or weakened deer if the opportunity arises and they are hungry enough.
  4. LOL.. more of this BS? Has anyone else noticed that after his initials post FSW has spent the remainder of his posts trying to convince everyone that he isn't full of ----.
  5. 40 years ago I went to a class on a week night in a small room upstairs over a restaurant... the class lasted about 2 1/2 hours... passed a written test.. and that was it. There wasn't even a gun of any kind present.
  6. Exactly right Pygmy.. when opportunity arises... coyotes are just that, opportunists... deer are not on the top of their list as a food source... 99% of what they eat are small easy to catch mammals and rodents. Packs of coyotes are not out actively seeking out deer to run down, tear apart and eat. Hunters take around 250,000 deer each year out of a 1 million deer herd... which are replaced each year with nearly twice as many new fawns... coyotes would have to kill 10 deer for every coyote in NY just to keep up with hunters... coyotes are not hurting deer populations across NY... isolated small habitats maybe but for the most part it's all a myth. It would be better maybe if it were true... hunters can't keep up with the population growth on their own at this point.
  7. If you're using a ml/bow tag... you should be able to take either sex the last 14 days.
  8. In a way, if you look at how society is becoming dumbed down it makes sense that more and more hunters will want an easier go of it when it comes to weapons... old school just is a bit more work and less desirable these days.. doesn't really bother me as long as I can still do it the old way and they don't try to take that away. Whatever gets hunters in the woods is okay by me. A decline in hunters is way more detrimental to hunting than an added modern weapon or two.

It's like a train wreck... can't take your eyes off it
  10. you forgot.. rant rave you've been served rabble babble
  11. That's right Doc... one must weigh the consequences based on where we are in the fight. Makes no sense to give up all your guns and freedoms at this stage of the game. Best to stay on the right side of the law and live to continue fighting the good fight another day. That doesn't mean that I'm beyond doing something foolish just to make a point... God knows I've done that before.
  12. Now that is just stirring up the pot...
  13. That rule was washed up with the inclusion of inline muzzleloaders to the primitive muzzleloader season years ago... and if we're honest, inclusion of the compound into archery season.
  14. An unelected official should not be allowed to start new projects where taxpayer money is involved.
  15. Pretty obvious to some.. many hunters can't tell a mature buck when it has antlers..lol
  16. Let me translate for those that haven't gotten it yet... QDMA is promoting the spread of CWD... you may not have picked up on that subtle point... and for those that just are completely baffled and confused by all FSW's posts.. you may not realize it but you've been served.. another point that may confuse you as well... if you find yourself making sense of any of this nonsense you may need some sleep or have an inner ear infection. I'm sorry, but this crap is so ridiculous.. I can't help myself.
  17. Recurves are only rare to those that don't shoot traditional... you'd be surprised at how many bow hunters use traditional equipment still... I'm around them all the time... trad gang.com is one of the largest archery sites on the internet. But you're right.. only time will tell... nothing surprises me anymore
  18. Oh No... That ought to throw him into a tailspin. Blows all his BS right out of the water.
  19. But the crossbow is not new technology... it is older than old technology.
  20. The big one would be that all does would get bred in the first estrous and fawns being born earlier giving them plenty of time to grow before the next winter. But, even with a 1:1 ratio carrying capacity still has to be at a level conducive to good herd health given the habitat available. Ratio is only a small part of total herd health.
