I can only imagine how much fun it would be to play a golf tourney with all of you! Too bad I live five hours away.
-
Not really beer related but my cat got into the catnip and is now stoned af. Hilarious!
-
Hope it’s a good day for you! Happy B-day.
-
And now on the deck for the rest of the evening. And the first harvest from the garden.

Having a few at Rising Storm Two miles from home and a great afternoon.
-
Enjoying a few at Noble Shepherd after an afternoon paddle on Canadice Lake. Summer at its finest. Good beer and a little bluegrass music.

Is it going to be a long, hot summer?

This just in from Portland, OR. Protesters have destroyed yet another offending statue. The statue was burned. The statue was of an ELK! WTF! Just when you think the world can’t get any more bizarre. https://www.amren.com/news/2020/07/this-is-how-we-end-racism-portland-protesters-mocked-after-setting-elk-statue-on-fire/ My wife and I are vacationing in Oregon soon. Flying in to Portland, getting the rental car and getting the hell away from Portland. -
Sorry to hear about your loss. Your brothers story hits very close to home. It’s painful but you did all you could to help. The bottle is the easier, but painful path.

Yes, I did use those metal brackets. They work well and are very easy to use but in the next one, I probably would not use them. Again, no problem, they work fine. Just not something I couldn’t do myself.

I built this one on an 8x8 base. The inside is 6x8 and there is a 2 foot deck on the north side. Fourteen foot legs but splayed at an angle to widen the base and increase stability. A little buddy heater and a couple of chairs and it’s a great lousy weather hunting shack. Also a good place to escape to when I really need some quiet. I built the platform and legs, set it in place and fastened it down with stakes and cables and then put each wall panel up and finally put the roof on. My friends will never let me forget that I put the camp paint on each panel upside down! You really can’t tell unless you look closely and my friends don’t have too much to rib me about as each of them have taken a deer from it in the last three years.

Stone Scorpion Bowl IPA. Nice evening on the deck to enjoy a beer..., or a few.

Best used for target practice.

Made the rounds to all my local breweries today. No BS, Rising Storm, Other Half and Noble Shepherd. Just doing my part to support the local economy. Now it’s time to enjoy the fruits of my labor.

A little Lake Shore Fog while explaining to my wife that her Christmas present isn’t gonna happen. Tickets to Kenny Chesney in Seattle as part of our summer trip to Crater Lake NP. Cant say I’m broken up over this. Big crowds, loud music... not my thing. On the other hand, I’m out a lot of money. So far they are calling it a postponement, so no refunds. Cancellation or postponement, I’m out of luck either way as I’m not traveling to Seattle just for a concert. At least there’s beer!

A little garden work, a little golf (not much cause they got three and a half inches of rain yesterday and only three holes playable) and time for happy hour with Rising Storm Off That NEIPA.
-
A new IPA for me. Neon Sails out of Mast Landing from Maine. Good classic IPA. Must be good, it’s my third.

This venison is going into fajitas for taco Tuesday while undergoing a corona virus on cinco de mayo. It’s all good.

My girlfriend Sally. Best dog I’ve ever been fortunate enough to partner with. Good birder but it’s been 8 yrs since any real hunt. Bad hips. 13 now and loves to lay out on the deck and bark at the howling coyotes but the deer walking by at ten yards get a pass.

Ok. Happy hour(s) is off to a good start. Now on to Green City IPA from Other Half. Guess I’m done working for the day.
-
All Together IPA from Other Half. This is being brewed by hundreds of breweries across the country to help support hospitality professionals across the country. Glad to do my part. The more I drink, the more I help.
-
After an afternoon of delivering my own NEIPA home brew to a couple of friends, I made a loop to pick up beers from Rising Storm, Other Half and Noble Shepherd. Now I can settle in for the evening. First up is Stacks on Stacks NEIPA from OH.

Just break off a leaf and smell it.... carefully. Definitely skunk cabbage. That purple thing is the flower and as it ripens it gives off an odor of decaying corpse. ITT attracts flies as pollinators since it’s too early for most insect pollinators.

Beer thirty came at 3:15 today. Seems to be getting earlier by the day. I could soon be cracking a cold one when I get out of bed in the morning. I think I’m regressing to college days..... Surround Sound double dry hopped DIPA. Hazy, citrusy and very tasty. Unlike college days when it was $.99 a six pack generic black and white beer.
