  1. I know some doe will get bred early, so the cycle will be earlier. I just haven't come across tracks or seen fawns much before mid June.
  2. Meh, it's become apparent that a few only take the laws and regulations as suggestions, tags probably mean little to them. It's their land, so why should they need tags?
  3. Haven't needed to wear a back tag in the NZ for as long as I can remember hunting up there, about 30 years. Don't have to wear it in the Catskill Park either. The bill that was introduced to make it, so the whole state didn't have to wear them, died in the Assembly a couple of years ago. Back Tag Regs
  4. I'd have to agree with this assessment. The newer generation is going to want things as easy as possible with archery, so they can get back to posting on IG and Twit. Look up, pull trigger, back to tech device.
  5. I probably won't be back over to that area until Saturday. I'll check around for any new tracks and see about getting a pic with size comparison. Here's the pic I took today. The smaller track was just a bit bigger than a half dollar.
  6. It was cool seeing those tracks. I'd guesstimate the tracks being from last night. It never really dries up completely in this spot, but over the past 3 years hunting the area I know that any tracks usually get a bit crusty around the edges after a day, and these weren't.
  7. That was a pretty cool picture Bill. I've heard of early birthing a few times here and there over the years, but never seen any physical sign of it until today.
  8. On my way out from a turkey hunt, I came across some deer tracks in the mud. It was a pair of pretty small tracks and larger tracks, like a doe and a fawn. Way too early for does to be dropping babies, isn't it?
  9. Wife just texted she forgot to feed the dog so I guess that's a wrap for today. Hearing birds sure makes it easier to want to be out hunting.
  10. Freaking train came by and he stopped gobbling. He was down a ridge to my left. I'm sitting tight here for a bit to see if he comes in silent.
  11. Gobble! Moving a bit to close distance.
  12. Crows going nuts. In area 2, nothing going on where the Tom got locked up on me the other day.
  13. Nice video, also very cool to see someone using an Eldris.
  14. You live in CT now! You have that 9/15 opener you always wanted.
  15. If hunting was added to the Constitution, it would bring far more politics into hunting than there is now. Far, FAR MORE! All one needs to see that as fact is to look at the deconstruction of the Second Amendment. You want even more stupid hunting laws, make it more political by completely putting it into the hands of politicians. Now that's a great idea.
  16. Birds hung up on the other side of a small ravine about 100 yards out.
  17. I've asked myself that for decades, not just recently.
  18. I actually feel it's worse. Much worse. Obama got the ball rolling, Brandon put rocket fuel in that sucker and kicked it down hill. What I'd like to know is how two places of the same company have different gas prices. A Stewart's to my north is/was $4.48 while the one to the south is/was $4.59. 7 miles separates the two, and they get the same gas from the same distributor.
  19. Noticed a surge in chest sizes in the area? . We all had to know the gas prices would jump, always do when there's a "D" in office. Never thought it would go back this high again. But, seeing the last time fuel prices were this high the same "D" was the right-hand man to the top "D" so.................. Oil companies are laughing all the way to the bank.
  20. I hear folks are buying that stuff up as a TP alternative. Either that or there's a whole lotta bra stuffing going on.
  21. FUJB! We should all get matching shirts that say that.
  22. So you're OK taking a less ethical shot with a firearm than with a bow? Sometimes I swear you type to troll people and keep the argument going. I shot fingers with every compound I have owned until I bought my current bow which is way to short axle to axle to do so. I have tried and it just doesn't work on shorter bows.
  23. Heard nothing this morning hunting. Driving out to get some stuff done, there's a flock in a field with a couple toms strutting. To really give me the finger, on the way back there were 3 deer in the same field.
