  1. It doesn't count. That's a CT shed.
  2. Isn't the NRA supposed to be trying to block things like this with the dues they receive?
  3. Ask the site selling the ammo what, if any, restrictions they have for your state. Or check with your local law enforcement.
  4. I'd guess if this does pass, there's going to be a lot of middle fingers raised. Many of us have a good amount of ammo on hand that is lead and wasn't cheap, so I don't see it becoming plinking ammo.
  5. Every time I read this is about NYC and waterways and run off from state land into the NYC water storage. It reads like it only affects the NYC and surrounding areas.
  6. Seems like they try to get this passed every year, or every other year. It should be up to the hunter to choose to use lead or not too. I feel bad for the downstate hunters around the NYC area if this passes.
  7. I don't know of any state that will sell a complete AR or AK/SKS to a NY resident unless they are an LEO. I might be wrong, but after doing a lot of researching the past couple months, NY and CA are treated like we have a plague or something. I was actually talking to a couple of guys in a gun shop about that this morning, while the guy in front of me was buying an AR and waiting for his check to come back. NY and CA are a mess when it comes to what's legal and what isn't on AR platforms. I'd just buy it here and convert it back in the other state.
  8. So maybe people should start considering if they could do what had to be done to protect what's theirs and their family. Most of the people in cities who go on about bugging out don't get that that is a fantasy in the larger part. One, they will be too scared to leave, two, they're going to be robbed trying to get anywhere. People stuck in cars in backed up traffic will be easy targets. Again, I refer back to my comment about people not having any common sense. Maybe a lot of people should learn how to make a fire for heat using alternate methods instead of playing on the web 24/7. Another case of it's avoidable if you use common sense. Maybe I look at all this a little different from others, but trying to escape a city isn't going to be as easy as many think it will be. As for the whole loosing power issue, it doesn't seem like too many people are worried, investing in cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, and playing the stock market with most if not all money tied up via electronic transfers. All those people with billions will be broke and starving like the rest of the world. If nuclear plants have failure, there's not much one could do. Maybe growing a second head might allow some people to see a POV without their head up their rear-end. As for the second part? White belts and white wingtips. I'm not underestimating anything.
  9. Tell your "cousin" to talk to someone who actually knows the laws for the state he wishes to buy the home is the most logical answer here. To buy a firearm in another state that's not legal in NY, he'd have to have an address and driver's license for the state the vacation home would be in.
  10. Biz couldn't be Negan if he was bitten by 10 rabid dogs. No one from Westchester and then moves to CT could ever be Negan. 90% of the city folk would be dead that fast. In the country, there are a lot more resources to get by on, and we don't screw around out here. Food prices are going to jump up, people are scared and once again panic buying. Not many in the US are used to having to ration anything out. I don't see this coming to any sort of extremely serious issue if people think and start using common sense. If nukes start flying, worry.
  11. Bill, rice has a long shelf life if stored properly, and it's an extremely versatile food source. When food is scarce, worrying about your carb intake shouldn't even be a thought. To add, I don't think people are laughing it off, I think between the news and other social media people are getting sick of hearing it. Especially when they go on the web to discuss the outdoors and are continually bombarded with this topic. If one was to put thought into stocking up for the long term, they should be thinking MRE's. Very little effort to heat them up, and they can be eaten cold if needed. Canned goods are somewhat essential, and don't forget - dog and cat food are made to meet specs for human consumption. They taste like crap, but if this is where we're headed, beggars can't be choosers, and it might beat eating your neighbor's cat, dog, or even them. A lot of these shortages are left over from the COVID pandemic, and just when things were starting to get back to normal, Putin decided it was a good time to disrupt the world seeing COVID didn't bring on the apocalypse.
  12. As long as it's not raining, I don't care if it's sunny or gray. I flat out don't like hunting anything in the rain. A slight breeze, but I'm not much for a hurricane. I actually have a fishing trip planned during May this year. I could/can hunt where we're going, but I probably won't bother lugging the hunting gear for the trip.
  13. How is worrying about this effecting your Spring turkey hunting preparations? Asking for a friend.
  14. How did the new turkey slayer pattern for you @blackbeltbill? Post up some pictures here. Seeing some tracks in the mud and been seeing them in the fields strutting already. On the way home from a hike last week, I saw a tom chasing a jake across the road. Thier heads were as red as could be.
  15. I don't know how well the cobra or king cobra weave used to make a rifle sling would work for a bow sling. I'd look up making a standard snake knot for something like that, it would be a little thinner and a small loop in front of the sling to put on the stabilizer bolt. Here's the video.
  16. I'm a bit concerned with the new album. I guess we'll see what they think a metal blues song sounds like. They haven't been the same since Iowa for heaviness, a few too many poppy songs. Did you get the sling sorted out? I was making and selling para cord slings for a while with both ends using basic Uncle Mike's swivels, doing it by hand got to be too much trouble between tearing up my hands and no one wanted to pay for the 3-4 hours it took to make them. If you're interested in trying to make one for yourself, let me know, I did a video a while back on how to make them.
  17. I'm pretty sure Little Falls is 6R, not 5J.
  18. ^^^ This. That design is to hook the clamp onto a loop in the shoulder stock and to attach a standard front mount to rails on an AR, then use the traditional sling mount on that.
  19. Thank you. I was looking around today and may pick up a set of the studs designed for synthetic stocks. I already ordered a couple of rails, and the rail mount for the sling is pretty easy on the wallet as well.
  20. Riding the couch for most of the day. Pup and I are both having belly issues. Good luck out there guys.
  21. No need to go through all that hassle. I was only asking because I was curious about durability of the stud staying in place and not breaking the stock. Then babies aren't cheap, and I don't want to break it.
  22. I should have added that at that point in the creek it's usually only about 12-15' across. It was closer to 25-30' today. The big rock in the picture sits about 4' out of the water, today it was closer to 2'.
  23. Did you just drill and set the sling base, or did you take the stock off and remove the top to put a nut inside?
  24. This was neither of the places I went to attempt fishing, this was the place I went to make a cup of coffee. Everything around here in the northern Catskills's looks like this.
