Maybe it was there when he pulled in? Uses it for his free range chickens? Here's the best one they would probably say, I am going to hunt a state that allows it, but it's cheaper to buy it here.

Those above and: What do you plan to do to stop these terrorist attacks on US soil? What are you going to do help this country create more jobs? Why do you always skirt the issues or flat out lie to the public? How is your health, honestly? Once in the seat will you continue the Clinton tradition of sleeping with the interns?

If I remember, you couldn't even use a rifled slug barrel in the shotgun only areas.

I have an electric fence, barbed and razor wire around my sandbox. Nothing getting in there. Heck, if I forget the key to the gate I can't even get in.

Killing a cat for eating a robin? Cycle of life. Let it be. Pooping on your lawn? Break out the AR! It's war.

Bomb explodes in NYC
DirtTime replied to Elmo's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Not for nothing, but, what do you think ISIS goal is? To come here and drink tea and play bridge? They want to kill anyone who doesn't go along with what their belief system. UM, that's a good chunk of America. If these attacks keep happening and nothing starts being done to prevent them, it will probably get messy, and fast. IMO Huntscreek nailed it right on the head. ISIS is a common enemy. -
Do you think this would work for scent control?
DirtTime replied to ApexerER's topic in General Hunting
That's why most of us have more then one place to sit. The wind can change and be different in a 10 foot gully then it is on top. by "playing the wind" you are trying to make it work in your favor. One spot I sit has a thick row of brush and trees at my back, wind usually swirls a bit and it's never constant, and looks over a small swamp with the deer coming from my right, can't hunt that with a bow as I am right handed and a deer to my left is what I need to limit movement. Watched more then a few does walk through there last season. But, if the wind was really bad, I would go 300 yards away and set up in a different gully half way down, the wind usually hits me in the face, but not every time. My favorite spot has places I can sit on all four sides of a small creek bottom. Generally I like that spot best when the wind is NW as I can sit behind a big log with the wind in my face. It's all about location of deer and where you put your stands. I would set up another stand or blind over looking the same area so you at least have two choices. JMO. -
Best ways to keep people from stealing your ground blinds or stands
DirtTime replied to LJC's topic in General Hunting
It's too bad people have to steal and or trash other peoples property. Private land I hunt I have a few blinds I made from moving some small logs around in from of where I hope they will show, and a good size tree at my back. A couple are high enough for bow hunting, but most are not high enough to hide my draw. Right now for public land I have a strip of camo burlap I will fix to some small trees or brush for the bow season on public land. Usually even finding a tree with some small brush on one side can be an alternative a well. I have a feeling this year we will find out if the pop-up blinds work for same day use or not. My g/f wants to get one for gun season, and we will be mainly hunting public land and I am not leaving it in the woods. -

The wind is a big factor, as mentioned. Walking in you will sweat, and setting up a climber. I really don't think there is much you can do to cover that, sweat stinks. If you take a break for breakfast or lunch and go to a diner/restaurant with your hunting clothes on you will pick up the smells from that. Just because we love the smell of burnt bacon or sausage, over cooked eggs, and the smell of coffee that would put hair on a bears backside, doesn't mean the deer will like it. Or worse, the waitress might smell great to you, but I doubt deer are into the latest perfumes. Un-sented soap, keep your clothes at least in a plastic bag and put them on when you get to your area, and take them back off for the ride home. (Unless you can just walk out of your house and hunt ) Play the wind and enjoy hunting. -
Nice rigs around. Like that moog posted the recurve.

Dude, I love your sense of humor. But, I want to see what these new found "experts" are shooting.

Troll. Hey Bowguy 1, have any insight on these threads? Got any pics to post? Not just words. In fact, no words! .Lets see some pics: https://huntingny.com/forums/topic/34821-lets-see-your-rig/ https://huntingny.com/forums/topic/33907-1st-shot-daily-pics/?page=14#comment-499130

LJC, you got it twisted. You seem to be an expert on the bow, so please, share your wisdom with us in these two threads: https://huntingny.com/forums/topic/34821-lets-see-your-rig/ https://huntingny.com/forums/topic/33907-1st-shot-daily-pics/?page=14#comment-499130

You don't sleep with it, you kill deer with it. C'mon Pygmy. Get on board here. LOL
-
They use AR style down south all the time in .223. They kill deer just the same as all you .300 WM people.
-
Sorry stone. My max is 30yds. I really prefer 25 or less, but deer come in at odd angles and ranges all the time. You need to know your ability. I am not a fan of guess work when trying to shoot at game be it with a bow or a gun.
-
So, you only have the web to make your point?
-
Nice rig. You are killing it in the 1st shot thread. Thanks for sharing.
-
Take some time and look around this site, don't pass your judgment on me. You will them.
-
Pics?
-
Nope. Bow is shooting well. Form is good. No need to add things I don't need. How about you? Got some pics? Arrows into targets? This is aimed at the new 'experts'.
-
You may have missed the point though.
-
Gee, I wonder who you got that from.

This goes on. The debate on yardage with a bow is endless. Shoot within the yardage you feel comfortable in. For me, it's preferably 25 yds. I just don't get why this is always a debate. If you can make an 80-100 yd shot, great for you! You put your time in and practiced to get that yardage. But, I agree, if a new hunter is coming in, and thinks they will get a 80 yd shot with ease they are wrong. My problem is, people post these vids, say they can make these shots, but fail to mention the amount of time and dedication you need to get a perfect shot over a max of 40 yds. I am not sure what these people boasting with these very long yardage shots want to achieve, but to a beginner you will give them expectations from the start that 90% will never achieve. Leaving wounded deer. We should be preaching the basic ranges, not what the glory hounds posting on YouTube can do.

After looking at the pic on here. The upper left arrow didn't hit square, sagging low but dead on. Have to switch that arrow out and see if there's an improvement.
