  1. Variety for this weekend. Not sure which one to have when I fire up the grill in a few hours.
  2. Waiting for a bear pic. About the only thing you haven't had walk by.
  3. Gary Johnson is gaining ground due to all the crap about the two top spots. He has a few valid points and has positions in all the upcoming debates. I am still with Trump at this point. Killery is the ruination of the USA as we know it. If you don't think so you....A vote for Killery is a vote to hand over all your guns. I am not backing that, and I never will!
  4. Not the best beer around ( still a great beer though ), but at $3.33 for two 24ozer's can't go wrong.
  5. Bacon, lettuce, and tomato on toast with home made garlic dill pickles. Had two sandwiches and about 6 pickles.
  6. Seems from your first post Biz you have a SW mainly. I agree when the climate changes for winter all that might ( most likely will ) change. It's always good to have at least 5 or 6 places picked out ( which might have to be changed as well ) to try and keep the wind from being a big issue. The private land I hunt in 5J I have about 10 different spots to sit depending on the wind. Some I have made blinds for and others have natural cover to sit behind. You can plan around the weather all you want, but when it's said and done, Ole Ma Nature can be cruel. If it was easy we wouldn't do it.
  7. You can use the regular season tag in the late bow season for either sex as well. http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/8310.html Funny, a short time ago some people on here were going all nuts again about the antler restriction, even being told it was a misprint. LOL
  8. I probably shouldn't have mentioned that spot of state land. Never thought about the number of people who would read it and flood it out with pressure. As for no arguing, don't jinx it people! LOL. I can't express my appreciation for the help and kindness of people on this thread and many of the people on this site. I have learned a few things by being a member here.
  9. I am outa likes. I told Jeremy I can't express enough how to thank him. The best I can do is pay it forward and help another hunter out next year by passing on the bow. I also very much appreciate people helping out with giving me heads up on good places to hunt in the new home area. I can't express my gratitude enough.
  10. Grampy is a hell of a man! Not much he won't do to help others out.
  11. Talked to Jeremy a short while ago. All things are go.
  12. Burgers and corn on the cob from the grill, and fried green tomatoes. Forgot about the soaking and grilling in the husk for the corn so just used foil.
  13. I will have to check more of them out. Thanks for the laugh Eddie, needed it today.
  14. I had pics of my last bow a few years ago, me shooting, target, etc. Will have to locate the g/f's old camera and see if she left them on there. She's not real happy that I will have to shoot into the shed and towards a road. LOL
  15. Isn't there already one? "First Shot Of The Day" by stoneam? Appreciated greatly. Talked to grampy last night and he was telling me a few places to hit and knock on doors. There's a few places to hunt public land around here too, and even the Pine Bush is still only about 25 minutes away. Not fond of that place as it gets hit hard all season, but being in the woods, any woods is the only way to get a deer. I think even Partridge run is only about 30-40 minutes. I had a list and was making notes but it seems to have ran away from my desk. Private land I hunt up north owner told me the other day logging is just about done so I may even get to hit that a few times as well. Don't get why I couldn't hunt while they were logging but, when the owner says no then it's not questioned.
  16. Haven't had it yet. August 20th with a rain date of the 27th. I gave one person on here an invite. I wanted a no kids thing, but I believe that was shot out the window. There's a couple others I was thinking of inviting, but pretty sure no one wants to make a 3-5 hour drive for a cookout.
  17. WTH Pedro? Where's the Chalupa? LOL
  18. PM'd Jeremy, I will take the bow, and then pass it on to someone else who might want or need it down the road. It is much appreciated.
  19. No offense taken. I meant no offense to Jeremy. The offer is very generous and it's appreciated. The reason I declined was because I am not in a situation where I can't hunt this year. There are others who might want or need a bow more then I do. I might come off as a dick at times, but I actually do think about other people before myself a lot. I could buy the Winchester if I wanted to, I just had to put things in a priority. So accepting a bow for free knowing I could have spent the money for a bow doesn't feel right to me. It's not pride, thinking I am better then anyone else, or thinking I am too good for things, it's actually the exact opposite. It's me thinking maybe someone else who really needs it would benefit more then me. I'll shoot Jeremy a PM.
  20. Just moving into the area I have heard a few people say there's a pretty good amount of black bears as well. The park owners and friend of ours mother lives right up the road in Ravena have said they come into their backyards. Nice to see some pics from the area.
  21. I remember reading that. That's something that sucks and sticks with you. I appreciate the offer Jeremy. If I had nothing to hunt with I would take that offer. I have my deer rifles and both areas I plan to hunt this year are high probability for DMP's. If you want to give it to someone it should be to someone who wants to get into hunting but can't afford to.
  22. Yuengling Black & Tan. Been years since I had one of these. Was on sale so figured WTF, why not. After I poured it some ugly guy broke in and took my favorite hat and glass. Luckily he stopped long enough to strike a pose for the g/f so I know who to look for. LOL!
