  1. I am in no way for ML to be put in the bow season! I have said that many times! NO! NO! NO!. Full inclusion for the crossbow? Yes! Yes! Yes! Phades comment was close to what I said; Stop poking the bear before the bear bites back.
  2. For any weapon to be effective, you have to take the shot. If you don't, that's on you, not the DEC, not other hunters, all on you. I said all this is dissension, and was told it was "discussion". Maybe people don't really know the difference. There is dissension among the hunting community. "I want it my way!" ..... "No I want it my way!". That's not discussion. It's arguing ( dissension ). Yet, no one has really proven anything. I said it last year, stop pitching a fit and hunt. Write your letters, send your emails, make your phone calls, do everything in you power to get DEC to make changes. To not buy your tags and not hunt is, in the old proverbial saying, "shooting yourself in the foot". That message won't work, and it's a little childish if you ask me. If you keep poking a bear, it will eventually turn on you. Consider the DEC an angry bear. Keep poking it. While doing so, just remember, hunting is a "privilege", not a "right". I am not saying kiss DEC's butt, but find a tactful way to get a point across.
  3. If I had the cash I would take the hunt. The new rifle and handgun will still be there when you get back. JMO.
  4. Agree 100%. To bad the general public walk through life not seeing the reality of the world, or down playing it. That moron that stole a car and then rammed police cruisers while trying to evade the police was putting not just the police in harms way, but also innocent people driving those streets. Sometimes LEO's have to make a call to ensure safety. Not allowing them to do that is nuts.
  5. Sgetti & meatballs. Too hot to be on the grill tonight.
  6. It's all this legal crap these days. Everything's a frikin' "liability". Can't do this, can't do that. "Sorry, we don't allow people to hunt our property due to the "liability" issues. We don't want neighbors upset." Too many people are scared of being sued it's sickening and frustrating. But, it is what it is. No point rocking the boat. I will just work around all the BS. That's what hunters do. We adjust to circumstance.
  7. I saved my old peep sight, so I will go ahead and have it installed. I put the sight and left the rest that Jeremy sent with it because it was in good shape. Going to take it over to Flying Arrow on Saturday to get it tuned up and sighted in. Down side, I can't practice in my yard. I really love living where we are now, but damn, I am not liking the ****** ******* rules. Will be heading to Flying Arrow once a week until we can get over to RC and hopefully get a sponsor and get in.
  8. There's a few I found in a search. Most want the deer skinned and d-boned. Can't do that where I live. If I could skin and d-bone here it I would just finish the job. I need a place to take the deer with the hide still on to get it processed. Hell, I just found out this morning I can't even practice with my bow in the park.
  9. LMFAO! OK Pygmy, laughing at that gave be a belly ache. LOL
  10. Most of us on here are 'loons'. Great pics. I love listening to them whenever I am near a lake.
  11. If he's not "qualified", then WTF is Killery? The entire public knows for a fact she has committed treason. That's who they want in office? I seriously think to many people were either dropped on their heads to much, or licked too many lead pipes. To many drugs maybe? Doesn't matter, anyone who is for the downfall us the USA as we know it must be a drooling window licker who should start wearing a helmet.
  12. They did drop the prices last season if I remember right. Three years ago when I first got back into hunting the small game license was still separate and I didn't bother with it only having a bow. I think the price you mentioned that year for my bow tag was right $19.
  13. I wanted 4H as well, but didn't try as odds were low. I got 4B and 4J, if nothing else there's public land to hunt in both areas.
  14. Corrected. Still worth the money.
  15. WOW. You had a really nice tan back then Pgymy!
  16. I tried baking them once with fresh garlic, EVOO, sea salt and black pepper. They were OK, but still prefer steamed or pan fried. Might have to try them on the grill next seeing they look good in Bizs' pic.
  17. Not really much different then buying a DMP, the cost is the same. $10 to another legal deer to your possibilities. You get more then a week with the ML, isn't it two with early and late seasons? Bow you get just shy of two months extra time in the woods. Worth the money in my book.
  18. Yes. It doesn't seem to over flow outside. At least that I have noticed. When I woke up to rain this morning I knew they wouldn't be here today.
  19. That's my point. Maybe the gun only hunters should start complaining about that. One more time I will try and explain this ( please pay attention ( sorry for sarcasm ) ): You can use any legal weapon in the regular season, AKA, the 'gun' season. Maybe gun hunters should start saying that since the bow and ML crowd have an early and late season, we don't want bows ( of any sort ), or muzzle loaders in our season. Shotguns and rifles only. How would that fly?
  20. Nope. Still have water backed up in the tub drain.
  21. You misread what I said: The thing I see, and I'm sorry, is there seems to be no common ground from bow hunters. There's no give by many. They want it all about them and that's not fair IMO. Two seasons ago I was bow hunting in the regular season because all I had was a bow. A couple state lands I hunted the gun hunters didn't give me the stink eye because they say me walk in or out with a bow. But, many bow hunters don't want even allow a crossbow into the whole of their season. The bottom line is to reduce doe numbers they have to be killed. Use a trad bow, a compound, a crossbow, a rifle, a shotgun, or a ML. Use w/e you want that's legal. We either do our part or we don't. I have tags for 2 doe and my either or tag. Trust me, I have a goal for this season, doe early, try for a good buck for a while, then fill up the rest of the freezer with w/e walks in from of me I have tags left for. Every year people want things just so. That's never going to happen. There will never be a peace and harmony between DEC and hunters.
  22. Good to know. I always practice once it gets a bit cooler with my hunting coat on at least a few times. Might buy a new arm guard to make sure I don't skin up my arm. That frikin' hurts. Did you shoot it with a stabilizer? I have never used one in the past. This bow seems pretty balanced. Only additions I might make are a peep sight and limb savers.
  23. This has been the case for a long, LONG, time. Most criminals, especially those in gangs carry handguns. Easily concealed and and to run with/get rid of. I have no issue with NICS. I do believe in "Constitutional Carry". If You pass the NICS then you should be able to buy a handgun the same as a long gun. It's gotten so silly that now to buy certain ML's you have to pass a NICS check as well. But, Billy Badguy can buy just about anything he wants off the street. Even fully auto rifles. and worse. I feel all this gun laws are actually doing more to help criminals then the law abiding citizen. As said, as more laws are passed the bad guys are getting more brazen, that's not a good thing. I am not in the mood to get into the LEO debate right now. Sorry.
