Biz, I am officially going to start calling you Pedro due to all that Corona you drink. LOL
-
Great buck in the top pic, One on the bottom isn't a slouch either. Good luck in the upcoming season.

Working on the quitting smoking myself. I make my own and no smoking in the house, so I think I am down to about 10-15 smokes a day and only spent about $16 in the past two weeks on it. The drinking thing, um.....Nope. LOL. I love a cold beer ( or 5 at times ). Did switch to really cheap beer mostly though. My outlook was it's better to wait until things are settled more, then have something else break and have to turn around and sell it and take a loss. I went with need over want. Silly me. LOL
-
Spoken like someone who lives in the tropics and can use a 'clothes line' all year. LOL. J/K Had to go with priorities. On a budget here. Plus, with the wait, I should be able to get a new bow and the big sister to my M&P 22LR ( either .223 or .308 ) next year.

Aren't there some "scientists" who have proof of big foot, the yeti, UFO's/aliens, werewolves, vampires, unicorns, and honest democrats? Yeah, you sure can trust a scientist. Especially when you can get a degree online.

Encouraging private land being opened to general hunting
DirtTime replied to Doc's topic in General Hunting
So you don't hunt in NY anymore? Times have changed, a lot! People sue if you spill coffee on their new shoes. Most hunters are good people and if they got hurt on your land, they would take the responsibility for that. Some, ( dare I go there? ) would sue the crap out of you for getting a rip in their pants, or your tree put a mark on the new climber. If you want to open your land to the public, have at it! Don't whine when some looser sues you and takes said land. As for the people that bought their land, post the $*** out of it, and don't allow other hunters on it? It's their land! Respect that and move along. Why do so many people on here lately insist on telling other people what ammo to shoot, what deer to shoot, what to do with the land they paid for, and all the other agendas? Stop telling people what to do! -
Been making this in a fry pan, the oven and even over campfire coals for many years. Got the recipe in an old cook book. If you like red onion ( or any onion ) and mushrooms add them. It's awesome!

I made my decision. The g/f said sleep on it and we would talk in the morning. She would have had no problem with me buying the bow. I just can't. As new and first time home owners, we have already dropped $1500 on appliances that were out dated and didn't work. That's why I had to get the Sears card to begin with. Long story short. If things break in our house it's up to us to get them fixed. I have to get my savings back up ( both of us do ) and pay off some debt incurred with our purchase. Should have never even posted this thread. It was the excitement of being able to do something, then realizing it's not a realistic time to do it. Sorry folks.

Um, not so much around here. Most do it themselves or just don't bother. Or they pay the owners people to take care of it. Not sure I want to step on the land owners toes. As for neighbors off the park, trying to get the odd jobs for hunting access, not cash. We have a rule between the g/f and I, anything over $100 has to be talked about. I have already spent close to $1700 on hunting gear in less then a year, might not sound like a lot to some, but was a lot for us. But, I was thinking, I have two snowboards, and don't out to ride much anymore. They aren't bottom of the barrel boards or bindings. I may sell one which will offset half the cost as least. This is like the political primaries. I have to set my case forward and see what the 'house' says. LOL

From the way you spelled American, you are having a blast in Ithaca. Just a few silver bullets tonight for me.
-
That's hilarious growie. We did zucchini lasagna with hot sausage tonight. Also had a treat as local store had pre-cooked lobster tails 2-for $6.

Yeah, I know. Just thinking out loud ( or through my fingers ? ) I guess. I just agreed about the money is super tight right now. But, I did plant a seed in her mind. A few weeks ago we were talking and she said "You better get a DMP and at least get a doe this year. It will help with the cost of food.". I reminded her that because I cannot hunt the private land I have access too up north for this deer season, my season starts in mid November. She had forgotten about that. LOL. So, I brought it up again and said if I buy this bow I can get out there the first of October. I will probably pass on the purchase right now. But, like most on here the though of new gear is like a kid on Christmas Eve. Visions of what might be under the tree. LOL

We went to Sears today to buy a new dryer. While in there it occurred to me that I can use my Sears card at Kmart, and they sell bows. I "casually" mention this to the g/f and got the 'evil eye of death'. But, me being me, I peeked on the Kmart site and they have the Winchester Laredo package on sale for $449. Trying to devise a plan to get the OK to make the purchase. I already know her big argument, "We can't afford that right now!", and she's 100% right. But.................................

Monster Buck- Best Wildlife Pic I Ever Took
DirtTime replied to blackradio's topic in Hunting Related Pictures
Great buck. Best of luck getting permission to hunt the area. -
I prefer making my own, but didn't have any brown sugar or cider vinegar. So I used my go to, Sweet Baby Rays sweet and spicy.

What have you done this year to prepare for the 2016 season?
DirtTime replied to HuntingNY's topic in General Hunting
Moved further south, added another rifle to the safe, been PC/topo/satalite scouting some state land, started knocking on doors for private land. That's about it for me. -
Had to buy a new grill, old was was shot. BBQ chicken breast with Sweet Baby Rays, side of broccoli with cheese.
-
Well, this 'house warming' has gotten out of hand thanks to the g/f. Supposed to be max 20 people. Pfft! Looking at close to 50 from all the people she invited. Changed the menu. Just box burgers for everyone.
-
Actually, Thatcher Park in my area does not allow rifles. The county is rifle friendly, but you have to be careful, certain parks and public hunting areas have specific rules for specific areas.

I have no kids, but, I remember after taking my HEC the guy that tough me the basics asked me "So, you looking at a .22lr or a shotgun for your first gun?'. I said 20 gauge for more versatility. I stand by the 20 gauge as the best starter shotgun for anyone, not just kids. Recoil isn't that bad, very versatile, and you can get ammo just about anywhere.

Did my own take on shepherds pie. Made the mashed potatoes and browned up the beef with some spices. Layered them and baked for 30 minutes. Grilled corn on the cob as a side. Not true shepherds pie, but, it was still real good.

A couple had only been married for two weeks....
DirtTime replied to EspressoBuzz's topic in General Chit Chat
This was hilarious! Watching porn to achieve relief will make your trigger finger less sensitive resulting in loss of accuracy while hunting. -
Happy birthday ya Jerk! Just kidding. Hope you have a great day with family friends, and a few beers.

A couple had only been married for two weeks....
DirtTime replied to EspressoBuzz's topic in General Chit Chat
I am not even sure what this means. Rattler, are you saying men who get married aren't "real men" in your point of view? You don't like that Uptown Redneck dude, but this is something he would come up with. BTW, the original post was a joke by EspressoBuzz, but people took it too seriously.
