I don't actually collect them per say, but I have about 60. Everything from $5 Ozark Trail knives I leave in tackle boxes, to a few Beckers, 3 Cold Steel knives, a bunch of Mora's, about 10 I built from blanks, a Tops BOB and Tracker #2 as well as a Boker Mini Tracker, a few RAT 1's, a couple Bucks, 5 Joker knives, a couple Victorinox SAK's, a Bark River with a custom sheath, and some others.

Very true, but when you only have x amount, you only have x amount. This is cash I've been saving up for a while now, it's not going on my credit card.
-
Meh, won't take effect until March 2023 so that gives them a year to mull it over more. Didn't they try this in the 70's and it didn't work out? Makes no difference to me, except not having to mess with the clock's twice a year.
-
A few hundred out of my price range, but it's sort of cool looking.

You're a joke. I didn't insult you, I made a wise crack and stated a fact. As for the rest of your gibberish, you need to take a look in the mirror if you want self-absorbed. I swear, people like you don't even read what they post. Like a couple of other guys here, you love to say things and act like you didn't. The pandemics over, maybe it's time you slide back under the rock you crawled out from under when the pandemic hit. Funny how the timing was there. You're calling me and the rest of the people who don't want to deal with your constant barrage of bullshit insignificant means about as much to me as your others accounts did/do, worth a speck of sand on a beach. I take nothing, anyone with multiple personality disorder and 20 accounts on a forum seriously. You are the morning chuckle.

I have to do that with clothes. Not fussing with a rifle too.
-
That's what the guys from Weird Science said, too. Look how that turned out. Bikers shooting up the house, frozen grandparents in the closet, and no joy in the end. I may build one, but not at this time.
-
Us mere mortals have to do some stupid things with these rifles.
-
No welder here. I think I'll stick to buying a completed rifle and be done with it. Walk in, push a few buttons on a PC screen, wait a few minutes, pay and leave. I have to do all that just for the lower anyway.

But with all the new vocal technology out there, better water to drink that helps vocal cords, new and improved throat sprays, that video is out of date. Time for an updated version. It's 2022 man!

Sounds like the making of a good beginner video Bill. Show people how to get started using their natural voice.

Any links for those deals? Everything I've seen in that price range for a full upper comes with a flash suppressor, and seeing I'd prefer to not pin the magazine, those aren't legal here.
-
$100-200 for a lower, closer to $200 for something decent, and $400+ for the complete upper kit. Pretty close to the same ballpark.
-
Starting around $550 and up from there.
-
I should have taken you up on your offer years ago when I was thinking about building one. Life happened, and I put the AR on the back burner. I looked at kits, and didn't see anything much cheaper then buying a complete rifle local when I added shipping into the mix. I doubt I'll be opting for a pinned mag unless I find what I like, and it's already on there. Iv'e gotten very proficient with the spur on my M&P 15 22, or I'll add something like this: https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1021314068?pid=329339

I'm hoping to find something to fit the wallet. I'm not looking top of the line myself, I don't plan to put a few hundred rounds a month through it. Hell, if I shoot 100 rounds a year with it, that would be a lot for me. I think I'm sticking with .223, and as I said, down the road if I want something else I'll just get a different upper for it.

I've been looking at ammo availibilty for the area, it's mainly .223, .300 BLK, and some 350Legend. Nothing for a .224Valkyrie. Saturday will be the whirlwind of driving to a bunch of places to put this all together. At least hopefully. I don't plan on a scope at this point, I have a set of AR open sights I plan to put on for now. I bought them about 8 years ago, and they have just been collecting dust since. I appreciate the info, thank you guys.

Frontgate Balmoral Mailbox
DirtTime replied to BizCT's topic in Non Hunting Items For Sale and Trade
He's going to rent a PO box here to maintain status as a NY'er for forum purposes. In CT, they have $3,000 mail boxes, so he has to upgrade for the new house. -
The only area I may use it for deer is a spot that's really thick, and you can't see much past 60 yards. I have a spot that has a good amount of chucks, which is more what I want the rifle for. I had considered an AR10 in .308, but those are well and beyond my price range right now. I guess maybe start with the base .223, and I can always buy different uppers as money allows?
-
Mainly hunting and range time. I came across a few articles saying the .300 BLK is a better option for deer, but in another article it was shown that it's not great due to not getting the expansion the .223 will when using the right ammo for the task. After a bunch of reading and researching, I just don't see the added price for the rifle and the ammo being an upgrade. I figure asking here might give some further perspective.
-
Is this worth the added price over a .223?

Pot's legal now, no need to mask your stash calling it 'cigars'.

There was a royal wedding, and it wasn't covered here? Some people must be slipping, everything else gets covered here.

Never mind. It wasn't banter, and the OP isn't the person who wrote or lives what happened with the link posted.
