  1. Good luck. I'm waiting until tomorrow, cold but some sun shine for a change. I'll be toting the new crossbow with an 15" tip to tip width.
  2. Sorry for your less. My condolences to you and your family.
  3. Well that doesn't help me decide if I want to sell my bow or not. It's only 268 if you hunt the NZ.
  4. Well, then maybe it was created by the US in some super secret facility in China so we would think they did it.
  5. I think there's misinformation coming from everywhere. If anyone had any sort of a grip on how to deal with this pandemic, it should have been under control more by now. It is too bad this has turned so political and people don't seem to care for one another at all anymore unless you're standing around a circle jerk of the same party. It's flat out shitty when someone says they hope you die because you won't/don't follow their ideology.
  6. Condolences on your loss. I said 2021 was going to tell 2020 "Hold my beer and watch this!". I was right. I think 2022 is going to tell 2020+2021 "Hold my joint and watch this!". Hope I'm wrong but..................
  7. You want her don't you? Yeah, you wanna hit that like Sammy Hagar wants to hit the bong.
  8. Well, thanks to downstate the rest of the state's been getting screwed on gun control for decades, so I don't feel sorry for you at all. Also, how far is LI from Westchester? Can't you hunt there until January 31st?
  9. I didn't read the article, but I will say that in my area, some places are showing more hunters out then just last year. There were more then a million guns sold to new owners in 2021, I will guess low in saying at least half were new hunters. I doubt there is any truly factual numbers to support my guess, but I can't see all of those people just buying guns for HD. Maybe 1/2 at best. Of course that's country wide, and I haven't bothered to look up just NYS. So yes, I think the numbers are growing.
  10. Most of the time it does. My wife's been looking, she saw a Jeep Renegade she liked and that had a lifetime warranty from the dealership on motor, transmission, and brakes. Providing, she had all work done at that dealership, including any and all oil changes. So no stopping by Jiffy Lube if you were in a hurry and couldn't get to the dealer. If the truck broke down in another state, you were SOL if you had to have work done while away because it would void the warranty. Because we travel often during the Summer this wasn't a great idea for us. If you only travel 50 miles from your house it's probably great.
  11. This makes a lot of sense in more ways then one. I remember the days of sitting a sports bar ( the outdoors kind ) and guys would be busting balls, but it was always in good fun and a round was bought while every one laughed. Hunting was taken seriously, but it wasn't taken to the extreme of actually insulting someone for taking a legal deer. Yearling bucks were sort of frowned upon, but the hunter who shot that little buck was still bought a cold beer on the harvest. These days there's to much dissension, and most of it stems from the internet and because of the internet. Too many hunters feel there way is the only way and slam anyone who doesn't do things just so. "Oh that trail camera sucks you need to have this one.", "If you don't shoot a $3000 bow rig you're bow is garbage.", "You need to have $2000 glass on that $4000 rifle.", as a few examples. Then there's the guys who only hunt private land over acres and acres of food plots who think because they have 500 deer calling the area home that deer numbers are the same 100 miles away. Then there's the little cliques. Every forum has them, and if you aren't part of that you're a lower class person. Personally, I say do what makes you happy and don't sweat the BS. If someone feels the web is an issue then they should step away for a while. Sometime people over complicate things, and this isn't that complicated.
  12. Tapping out. Damp air makes it feel colder than it actually is. Not even the birds are out here. Done for the season. Heading home, wash hunting clothes and pack em up. I seriously don't know what to make of this season. Dudes sitting in my blinds, putting up ladder stands 30 yards from one, and a few other issues. If hunting is on the decline a lot of hunters didn't get the memo. Best of luck to those still grinding it out and congrats to everyone who filled tags.
  13. Social media hunting sites are a double edged sword. If they aren't pushing ads or selling sponsored products you are left with the backbone of what hunting is, hunting talk. When it's all about the endorsements they aren't all that great. They also loose merit when they are turned into a mass flood of nonsense and flaming wars. I'm searching for a hunting forum to join, anyone have any suggestions?
  14. Rookie question here. I read a lot about dealing with misfires or non-fires, and one thing that seemed to be huge was if you drop the hammer and the gun doesn't go boom to wait a minute with the ML held in the same shooting position because it may go off a few seconds later. Aren't you supposed to wait a bit when a primer doesn't go off in the shooting position and not try and rush putting in a new primer?
  15. Thoughts to you and your family that you all get past this quickly.
  16. I think I'll pass. I'd rather head on over to Bangkok and get a 3 for 1 special.
  17. Does forgetting your primers at home count? If so that was yesterday morning.
  18. I just had a guy say he was going to think about me while taking a long shower. Maybe that would be flattering to you, but to me it was pretty creepy. How the hell is that being grouchy?
  19. Apparently. How else would you explain the pics that kept popping up of that naked guy in the thread that fell into the abyss? Maybe someone paid to download those pictures, not much around here surprises me anymore. I would check with the guys who posted the images.
  20. That right there is just a horrifying thought. With all the free adult sites out there and you being married, and have to think of me during that time? There's something just wrong there, really, really, wrong.
