I posted the updated link. Rabies. Our new home isn't far either.

http://cbs6albany.com/news/local/bobcat-attack-reported-in-new-scotland Anyone in the area hear about this. I meant to post about it the other day, but, forgot until the g/f asked if I had looked it up a few minutes ago.

I was thinking bikini's and a grill. But those pics are cool too.

Wishful Thinking

I doubt Hillary is a virgin to hand cuffs. Oh, wait, sorry, different perspective. I bet being put in them in this manner will be a first and probably not make her day. -
Is this a Mulberry bush?

This is the beast we have where we live now. I like the fruit but I am not going miss this tree, all the BS to keep it trimmed back, and purple poop on my Jeep! -
BBQ pork chops on the grill. Steamed corn and chips.

Best of luck on the new stage of life deerpassion. Just remember, it doesn't matter where you hunt as long as you hunt.

Second line of my signature.

Anyone on here named Scott Allen?
DirtTime replied to mike rossi's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
First, what need does this site fill? Now I am curious. Second, and this one cracked me up as much as when another member posted this same type of "comment": You and Bill work out in the same Dojo? -
It will always be some cause or crusade. "Assault weapons", lead ammo, auto emissions, it won't stop. But, everyone is still entitled to an opinion and are free to speak that opinion. I get the hazards of lead harming birds, I just don't think it's the huge issue some are creating. Just my opinion.

True. I was just asking why Law would rather shoot the .260. I am more then happy with the 25-06. It seems very versatile. I am not sure I would use it for black bear, seems a bit light but that's just my personal opinion.
-
Thank you for the info Law.

Well, we went through the pics the g/f took. Mainly flowers and the same pics of the same landscape I took. The only different one was this, when she asked about the Safe Act. Sorry if the blur doesn't cover the finger. FUAC!
-
Law, question for you. No ill intent intended. From what I have read, the 25-06 is really right up there with a .270. Is the .260 really more on the .270 side or the 25-06 side on ballistics and energy? I am asking as like I said, never owned a q/b and the .260 seems over shadowed by the 7mm-08.

These threads always go bad. This debate will go on until lead ammo is actually banned. I wonder what will be first, the banning of guns or the lead ammo? I have posted how I feel about using alternatives. For me, it's a cost issue. I am not going to rehash that. I said it before, it's just a circle. All the proof are estimates. If I want my Jeep painted I can go to 6 different body shops and get 6 different estimates. Just like saying "ballpark figure". Get some proven, current, on paper stats and maybe you would have a soap box. Like a few have said, I will just about my merry way using ammo I trust and shoots well through my guns. Sorry if it's lead and puts a kink in some peoples thongs.

I don't have any to look at. I did not know you can use last years DMP's this year.

Anyone on here named Scott Allen?
DirtTime replied to mike rossi's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
I don't know any one named Scott Allen. There's an actor named Tim Allen I like though. Does that count? Why didn't you answer this Scotty on the site he posted on instead of asking people here? Not picking on you Mike, just asking. If I have a reply to something on another site I will post my reply there. -
You already have DMP's for 2016? How did you do that?

My other deer rifle is 7mm-08 and I love that rifle. I couldn't pass the price on the Axis XP Stainless for the price! The lower recoil will be great for the g/f if she decides to get into hunting. It also depends on if you want short or long action chas0218. Thanks for all the replies. Much appreciated.

Yes, the Whitetail deer is a curious creature. They at times do walk into a hunters kill zone. Not very often in the thick woods that are a big part of the ADK's. I am not trying to argue, but if you are hunting public land a deer sighting in even the lower ADK's around Caroga can be rare. You get into the areas, the OP said, the odds get harder. You get up around Malone or Au Sable, odds get worse on public land.

Where do you have up to date at minimum 2015 stats and data on the topic? As was mentioned, most of this data is out dated. How many predatory birds have been killed by lead ammo from say, 2010 to date? It still doesn't change the fact that I am sick and tired of NYS residents and the "Go Green" crew telling me and others what ammo we should use! With all the other BS going on this is the battle you pick? We are on the verge of possibly having guns banned as a whole. I would think more people would be on board to save the 2nd Amendment over all the worry about lead ammo. Just my opinion as an American.
-
That's a proper attitude and thinking Rattler. This whole thing is flat out silly! There's no current "FACTUAL" numbers/stats on how many 'birds' are effected from lead ammo. Every time I read one of these threads about lead ammo I think of the stupid gun control nuts that are eventually getting their way. It starts as a snowball and ends in an avalanche! I want to protect the environment and the creatures that inhabit it as much as anyone. I really wish people would stop telling other people what ammo to use, what guns they can own, and what time they can fart!
-
Exactly! But, back then more hunters also actually went into to the woods to hunt. Not behind the culdesac just outside the city. You prepare well. But alas, most of us have tired of this debate. We are forming a 'militia' against it. When the time is right, you will hear our voice. But, not at this time.

Crap! I can't edit the pics post. Was deleting a few pics from the phone and forgot to upload this one to the PC. This is my pup. G/f was trying to get her to go back in the lake.

Not today, this was yesterday afternoon at Indian Lake. A cold RR on the dock while fishing.
