This thread in a direct way, ties into people stealing, trespassing, and just acting like idiots. The respect for what you can do to other peoples land, or even worse, people, has gone away. It just seems more and more people don't care what they do. They just do it. What if that accident had been caused by a police chase, or even worse, a bunch of gang-bangers? It could have led to far worse then me just worrying about a cracked pole, damages lawn, and some debris. Not to be an a$$, but we don't all live in crystal castles and Cinderella is the closest neighbor. Anyway.......................

That's a nice group. I would still make a scope adjustment 3" up, and left 2".

"Core Heat" is just an area. It means the core. Your chest and back. I know this may be off your normal map, but look up a ski or snowboard jacket, with a core lining. It's designed to keep your core warm, chest back and kidneys warm on the lift up. Hunters sitting all day need more. I am just not sure about a battery operated layer.

http://www.grainger.com/product/22MH12?gclid=CL2zkLfXgsICFXIF7AodtwoA_A&cm_mmc=PPC:GOOGLEPLAA-_-Safety-_-Workwear-_-22MH12&ef_id=UxKIdAAAATDRbUqy:20141117222605:s Think that link might work. I snowboard, and I hunt, I know how to layer clothing. I just thought this might be a bit much. It did teach me something though. Then again, I guess the old traditions of wool, that even when it's wet holds your body heat, are gone.

OMG! People hate hunters, never going away. How did this turn into just an extension of other threads? I was told I was worthless last summer, just because I had a pair of camo bdu pants on and a Realtree TShirt. I was coming back form a weekend atv riding/scouting/camping trip. I stopped at the Stewarts on the corner of 29 and 147. Some jackass has something to say. Just because I had camo on. I laughed at him, got my coffee and came home. I just said this in another thread, stupidity is a plague. It infects everyone.

Better title would be "Missed My First Buck". At 16, my first shot at a buck was.....Well, buck fever got me bad. My sit was in a small valley for the evening. I start creeping my down one side to my tree, and a 4 pt jumps up and runs. I brought my shotgun up ( old single shot ), got a bead on the side of the deer and fired. In that split second, my head raced, on the downhill, hill on the other side, safe. he's running but you got it. I missed clean. I did everything right, except one thing. I never led the running deer. I stick pointed at his side and fired. We have all done it. Some may not admit it. But buck/deer fever is the leading cause of misses and bad shots.

ALL into jerky? You're wasting prime cuts of deer meat. Loins, straps, leg steak/roast.....Even the neck can be used as a nice roast. You put taters, carrots, cracked pepper, and fresh garlic in, wrap it with butcher string and roast it. YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! To each their own I guess.....

No clue how to answer that one. Most people care about their lawn. I do, and my g/f is worse. Not at this point in time. But come spring, I will have to fix it. I love my brother, but he has a daughter going to school in Spain, so getting him to fix anything around here is like asking Cuomo to back off. Fat chance. It's more the city and NG I am worried about. They do things half a$$3d in my area, so there is a concern for safety. I guess I made the thread because of all the people making comments about people in the woods that are clueless. It's not just in the woods. Stupidity is a plague, and it hits everywhere.

Another plan for gun confiscation in NY
DirtTime replied to Mr VJP's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
The Buffalo thing was covered in another thread. I do have a question though..... Seeing you have to be at least 18 years of age to purchase a firearm in NY. The Safe Act. All the other crap that's a part of NY. How do minors still legally hunt with a shotgun or rifle? Or better yet, if all the new laws go into effect, how will they remain to legally have a firearm in their possession hunting or at the range? -
I just have to get used to the noises. Big issue is they keep clearing more and more of the area I hunt locally. I know there are deer in there. But I think the bow hunters outnumber the deer 5 to 1. I also can't get used to being in a spot, and after the sun is up watching someone sit down or set up a climber 75 yards from me.

Bed is possible. Would explain the piles. Nothing else in the area though, so I would guess a buck bed. Only because all the deer I have seen in this area were does and were traveling in 3's and 5's. I really do want to say turkey too. There are a ton of them in there. I really didn't do a huge search of the area. I came on this, took the pic and went back the way I came. Going to sit this area this weekend. So, I didn't want to be in there screwing things up. Already had my evening spot set up, and didn't want to go get everything and move it that day. I hope to find out for sure this weekend.

Shooting from a rest or elbows on a table? Rifle looks good, make sure you calm breathing. Not a bad group at all. If I still hunted with a rifle I would still adjust up 3" and left 2".

Nice buck! Congrats to her.

Thats what the scrape looks like. But doesn't explain the deer droppings. There were about 5 piles in about a 5 yard radius. I scaled down the pic from the original size. It was 3648 x 2736.
-
100% on the shooter. Should loose his right to hunt, and dare I say it, loose his right to carry a firearm.
-
I took this Saturday mid morning. Looks like a scrape, there are droppings near it as well, but there was no licking branch over it. Does it look like a scrape? Never seen one one this light. Usually dug right to the bare ground. Any thoughts?

Police didn't tell me didly really. Bro said today they had no license and unless he presses charged for descruction of property they won't tell him didly on that part either.

The g/f told me being home wouldn't do any good, and the buddy that was picking me up seemed pissed off when I said I wanted to bail on the day. So I went. Figured being in the woods would help. It didn't. So what? Really? You really want to make this of all things a font war? C'mon. Grab a seat everyone.....Here we go...WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Yeah I have an issue with that pole and the wires that run on it. So do all my neighbors. 3 years ago the insulation on the wires caught fire, set fire to a three in my back neighbors yard, then broke off and were arching all over the place. The whole block was trapped in our homes because we could not leave as the wires were in the street. They 'fixed' it, and a week later another wire surged and blew the transformer box. So, yeah, I still have my worries. <^> Here are the pics I took yesterday morning before cleaning it up.

This makes no sense now........... Toss a chunk of Old Spice in your pocket and tear it up.

What's the deal with people slamming the Amish? Don't they get privileges for hunting like they do for traffic? I have no clue, and I am not about to look it up. I doubt you will see them in hunter orange and hunting land that's not theirs. Shouldn't you be paying more attention to the people shooting people for no reason, making the gun laws completely stupid?
-
Just called to turn in the plate. It was gone. Police said I did the right thing and not moved it, yet they said in the future, move it. LOL. Said I hope this doesn't become a frequent issue. They got the two people that fled, they live just over the bridge. Nice......

Sleeping bag?
-
True. Thanks for reminding me of that dude. Still mad as hell though. I won't get paid. I rent the house from my brother. I figure they were either drunk as a skunk and/or high, and the suv was stolen, or over all illegal. Why else would they run? Police say they can't give me any info right now, only the land owner.

Congrats. Nice buck.
