Would You Support a Blaze Orange Compromise?
DirtTime replied to wildcat junkie's topic in Deer Hunting
Lets all hunt naked! New meaning to doe and spike horn. -
You may want to edit this so it doesn't take 20 minutes to scroll down to the reply area. Just sayin........ That seems like BS. I do not see it as a "VIOLATION OF THE CONSTITUTION" though. Can't you fight this with some legality about zoos? Zoos keep and breed animals, game animals, exotics, etc. If they can do it, why not an individual? Doesn't seem fair in an over all realistic view.

I am so glad I made this thread. Now I know whom I should never go into the woods with.......

This is good to know. Thank you the post Joseph and the answer turkeyfeathers.

Would You Support a Blaze Orange Compromise?

http://www.outdoorlife.com/blogs/big-buck-zone/2014/07/video-new-study-sheds-light-what-deer-see Deer do not see color like a human. The big thing is UV. Spray UV killer can cure that. Blue and white are a big no no. Not orange. I don't see a big deal with the orange. If it's mandatory, so be it. Would you stop hunting if you have to wear an orange vest? I wont. -
At least he didn't say "something to stuff in my mouth" AND "something warm to sleep in".....

I hate vampire deer. But, you can still kill one....Here's what you do: Use a bow with wood shafts, try to get ASH shafts. Dip your broadheads in garlic sauce. Go to the local butcher and get a pint of blood and hang that near your stand, blind w/e. If all else fails, call Buffy! Seriously, are you just looking at the trail cam pics? Or are you using the pics and then scouting where the deer are moving to and from? Use the pics, and then get in that area and see what direction the tracks are going. Then set up where the bedding/feeding areas are.

Called the number you sent me.

Try subbing the coke and ketchup for this: Red wine and Lawrys universal steak and chop sauce. 1/4 cup red wine 1/4 cup Lawrys steak and chop 3 drops liquid smoke 1 tbsp onion powder 1/8 cup fresh minced garlic 1 tbsp Italian seasoning 1 tsp fresh cracked pepper 1/4 tsp of basil or thyme

Coleman 2 burner stove. No peculator, instant coffee. First trip is decided. BF will be oatmeal. Lunch will be ham and swiss on rye. Dinner will be: set up night chili. Night 2 will be chicken and rice with veggies. Night 3 will be beef stew. I will make it all up in advance and just reheat it. Only alteration will be killing a deer. Then we will alter the menu. Lots of water will be available. Snacks will be what people bring, hot sauce will be at the ready. Booze will be what each brings. Spring turkey will be a bit different. Only hunting till noon will allow a better menu. Will just be two of us, my buddy and myself so far. So chicken legs night 1, pork chops night 2, and steak night 3. BF and lunch will be on the individual.

Sorry, not planning on being in that area. Utica is almost 2 hours, Syracuse close to 3. For $50 bucks might be worth the trip out this way.

For red meat/deer Mix this all in a bowl, then toss the meat in the bag/bowl 1/2 cup of Worchestire Sauce 2 tbpn fresh garlic minced 1/4 cup fresh minced onion 2 drops "Liquid Smoke" 1 tspn Paprika 1 tspn black pepper ( fresh ground ) Do not add salt! The Worchestire Sauce and the Liquid Smoke will add all the salt you need. Let sit for at least 6 hours in the marinade. Grill or pan fry and you got it. __________________________________________________________ Anyone who puts katsoup on meat........................

You want a home made marinade? Or a stock web marinade sauce?
-
Really? Really? Belo, do me a favor, back off. You wouldn't know your own tool from a screwdriver. You flip flop like a dying rabbit and no one cares.
-
OK. Who said that? Or implied it?
-
If you had to come here first, then you didn't think it was big deal.
-
Yes. Yes it is. A choice! The OP asked what the big deal was about pumping gas on your way hunting. Seeing anyone who does this is a "slob hunter", not my words, the words of others. If the hose is leaking, and you didn't stop pumping and immediately go inside and tell the attendant, that's on you and unsafe. It is what it is. The real line is, if you hunt the burbs, the smell of gas really has no meaning. Nor does the smell of a grease-pit diner. Get in the real woods and then say scent matters. Not 3 minutes from a Quickie Lube. So WTF do you really care if someone else smells like 2 day old crap? I think you are all missing the point.
-
If you are so worried about the smell of bacon, stop. Put a few pieces in your pocket and hunt an area with bear. You might get a target of opportunity.

You can't legislate ethics. You either know what's right and what's wrong, or you don't. C'mon.
-
Don't stress this one. You killed a legal deer. You put meat in the freezer, and you were out there. Many people round here haven't taken anything yet. Be thankful for the harvest.
-
Yes there is! It's called playing Cabelas Hunting games on an XBox or PS.

This is going on in Dansville?
