Guts telling me to hunt a feild edge, but more sign by the hub blind. Hit a skunk driving over so there's that lovely smell.

American Shooter Supply hasn't had any black powder stuff in the year I've been into it, nor has his shop over the river from me Guns Inc. . Outdoorsman had some pellets the last time I was in there, which was last August, but if memory serves me right they were the White Hots. I know the Hogdon are on point for me, so I want to stick with it for now. I still have some, I just shot a little more while checking the scope back in August. It's fun to shoot, and I put about 15 rounds down range instead of just a few to check. Even if F&S only has the 24 pack, I'll pick one up just to have a little bit more of a supply on hand.

If it counts any, I'm far more stoked to be hitting the woods this coming Wednesday-Friday with the ML. Then Saturday+Sunday with the 25-06. Then the following weekend with one of the deer rifles.

I'll be up by F&S tomorrow afternoon. Guess I'll stop in there. Guy I talked to on the phone last week said all they had bullets.

Started doing that time slot sit last season more often, and one so far this season. Mainly for the same reason, rainy mornings. Not a huge fan, as that time slot seem to be when more people are out hiking on some of the public land I hunt. I have a dry blind I could go sit, I just don't like hunting in the rain. Can't get out tomorrow, have a wedding and the weather looks great. Weather looks good Sunday as well. Monday is packing up for the Dacks.

Still raining, supposed to stop around 2AM they said. Now, stopping around 7-8 (ish). Waiting to see what it does. Might have to do the evening sit today, or the 10-2 shift.

I like the set-up. Don't really need to have camp 50 miles back in to enjoy it. As long as you enjoy yourself is all that matters. Thank you for taking time to show us around your place. Good luck out there this season and enjoy your time.

For shame!!!!!!!!!!!! That's the other side of the coin. Having an area of private land down by me to hunt is great, but with the property rules I don't see me hunting the area much once the firearm season opens. I don't have the rifles and the ML as safe queens or dust collectors, I love hunting with my boom sticks too much to give it up for a crossbow. That's not a complaint, as I said I like having private property and am thankful to the owner for the opportunity I just like my guns.

I suppose I could carry the target he loaned me. I see Wallyworld has those little Morrels for $17, might order one of those and just leave it in my hunting blilnd.

I'll give this a whirl. It's not costing me anything, it's not like I won't be hunting anyway. We have an area that the owner only wants bows or crossbows due to location, so it can't hurt to try.

I'm starting to see more movement on cams, but it's at night, or an hour before I would be heading in. I think this lull people speak of is just the deer taking a smoke break from over um, err, copulating.

I have no doubt it will kill a deer as long as my part is being done. I just thought it strange my vert bow shot faster at a far lower weight setting. Now I just have to figure out how to uncock the thing when I'm done with a hunt if I haven't had a shot. Those little targets are spensive, and I'm not dropping $50 on a "see if I like it" thing. He gave me a bolt that's supposed to be able to be shot in the ground, yet he said he looses them each time he does that.

Public land. They were just doing their thing, no harm, no foul. Unless they are the slime bags who keep knocking my blinds down, then Houston may have a problem. The area I was hunting is up from a swamp and when deer get spoked they head to said swamp, so them going through pretty much ended my hunt, which was fine, as I was only planning to sit for another 30 minutes or so anyway.

No. I'm not the sociopath who likes to take creepy pictures. He may have 100 different accounts on here, but I'm not one of them. However, I think they took a picture of me while I was walking out. I got this odd feeling and when I turned around they were out at a field edge with phones in hand watching me.

The bolts in the case he gave me to use are a little heavier than 380 grains, they were just a smidgen under 400 when I put them on a scale.
