Is there a new pistol law now ??
DirtTime replied to luberhill's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
There's a take effect date, so it must have been passed someplace. I thought I read it was put in as an EO? Gun shops are already selling out again, and online shopping is hit or miss again (which will no longer be legal here after 9/1). If I read the whole mess right on the recert, when it's time for people to go through that process, they will have to take/do all the requirements. So, now just to get your pistol permit you have to go through even more hoops, and they aren't just on fire, there's a pool of acid on the other side. In a nutshell, getting a pistol permit is now harder than ever; you have to grant them permission to spy on you, take a bunch of classes and training, pay even more money, and still may not get one or not get your recertification. Just for good measure to piss all legal gun owners off, they added background checks for all ammunition. -

ALL AMMO! Make a call to your local gun shop and ask. Or call your local police department. All ammo will need a BG check. No system in place yet, but from 9/1/22 they will at least have to record all ammo sales. Like I said, the extreme left are having a temper tantrum. Don't be surprised if we have to pay for that check, which will probably cost like $10-20, so add that to the cost of a box of birdshot. -
Don't forget christmas trees and bear paws.

OH, and don't forget, you now have to give them information on every social media type site and forums you visit, as that's part of the character process now. Until this all goes away, I see a lot of dead air on the internet. -

Yeap. To go along with the new pistol permit laws, you will have a background check for ALL ammo purchases. Want a box of .22LR? BG check. Some #8 skeet ammo? BG check. Need a box of .308 or slugs? BG check. This is all getting out of hand, it was a retaliation move from the left politicians because the SCOTUS ruled the CCW laws here were ridiculous. They got scolded and are throwing a temper tantrum. Buckle up, it's going to a bumpy ride. -
My dream is to have about 100 acres of land in the NZ with no close neighbors. During season and I had a tag? Yup, I'd drop one from the back porch. Not from in the house or from a window, but off the porch, yes.

Tomorrow is fishing. Sold a smoker, a Bark River knife, a hunting coat, one of the two SAK's I had out there, and my wife sold some jewelry. Just put a different Bark River back in the drawer, a tent black in the closet, a hunting blind back in the shed, some odds and ends back in the house and lugged a freakin exercise bike back in the house. Also put some fancy smancy camp plates and a knife and fork camping set unused back in the closet. Threw a DVD player in the trash, a couple sets of new sheets that don't fit the bed, and some other MISC items.

Instead, I'm sitting in the yard having a yard sale.

"Concealed Carry Improvement Act"
DirtTime replied to josephmrtn's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
It would almost be funny if the SCOTUS outright declared all of it unconstitutional, more or less making NY a Constitutional Carry State. But, after August, you'd still need a license for semi auto rifles. If that wouldn't be among the top shake your head moments here. -

I imagine many won't comply, the same as registering MSR's when the SAFE ACT was shoved down our throats. It wouldn't be as difficult with handguns to come and get them, as it would be with rifles (at that time) because to get a pistol permit you need to keep address changes and all that information up to date, so they would know exactly where to go. It would not be door to door, they have a list of everyone who owns a legal pistol. You would get a letter demanding you turn in your handgun in x amount of days. If not, expect a visit. Don't forget, NY pours millions of dollars into far more stupid issues, and the sad part is your tax dollars would pay for you being arrested. Now, that's pretty high up on the ironic scale. I have a feeling this may very well be cut down pretty swiftly, and just to invoke how serious they are, the Supreme Court may just put the vanishing wand on some other retarded gun laws we have here. Most of the other states effected by this took the hint and aren't pushing the issue. -
I know a velvet buck is high on your bucket list @BizCT, so I hope you get to drop one this year.

Isn't that how most prison movies start? -
"Concealed Carry Improvement Act"
DirtTime replied to josephmrtn's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Good question. Under this regime, I'd bet they try to come for the hand guns and people would be arrested on felony charges. I had thought about a permit about 5 years ago and never bothered. Then I thought about it again this past Fall. I'm not bothering now. I already know they spy on people, but I refuse to actually give them permission to do so. I guess here's to hoping some higher source steps in and in declares all the crap in this state unconstitutional. I still can't believe people vote these people into office. -

Any and all forums, including this one, are social media, whether folks want to accept it or not. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, IRC and/or any other chat networks, if a blog allows people to reply it's social media, Discord, TapaTalk, TicToc.......... If it has any form of a discussion area, it's social media. -
Carry permits, jokes on you suckers !

This is what I keep saying and being scoffed at for it. They are purposely going against the Supreme Court's ruling as a slap in the face, and I hope they get a boot in the ass for it. -

Because, as I have said probably 100 times just on this forum, the Democrats outnumber the Republicans in this state. That's why it's a Blue state. If it were the opposite, it would be a Red State, or if it was a tie, it would be a Purple State. I know a lot of Democrats are getting tired of the prices of everything too, I just don't see it being enough to unseat a Democrat from the Governor seat. Have a look at the numbers of how many voted for her in the primary VS how many voted for anyone on the Republican side. Gay rights (loosely used here), abortion, banning guns, all the things liberals live for are what they get with Huchul. They won't get any of that with a Republican in the seat. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't feel I am. -

So, background checks for rifle and shotgun ammo is included here? The whole thing reads about pistol permits, so the average person would assume the BGC is for pistol ammunition, not rifle and shotgun ammo. Or did I miss something? -
If we had gotten the last house we looked at, I would have been a half hour from the private land I hunt and a huge tract of state land 20 minutes away in the NZ, I would have sold my bow. The early ML season starts up there the second weekend of October, and I would have been more than happy to sit out those two weeks to be able to use a boom stick.

Congratulations! Enjoy your dinner.

I don't know what's going to help her, but she did win the top seat for the D party. After even more rulings from the SCOTUS on the full ban of what's considered "assault weapons", not allowing high capacity mags, and a few other redundant laws declaring them unconstitutional in a few states, she and the rest should seriously rethink trying to backdoor the Supreme Court. The iron is hot, and the SCOTUS have stated they don't have any patience for these violations anymore, so the NRA, GOA, and the rest need to drop the throttle on getting rid of a lot of the laws that flat out do not stop firearm related crimes. The sickening part is the gas prices won't mean anything come November, I think this hypocrite turncoat liberal loving swamp creature is going to win. She's been asked on numerous occasions on her turning from an NRA Rank A member to a gun hating liberal and refuses to answer the questions. She doesn't have to answer, we all know it was to dump buckets of money into her bank account. I'm getting really tired of telling people "My frikin rights, rights!, don't end where your damn feelings begin!". -

This was no accident, as stated in the article, it was s spiteful and malicious act carried out by a slime ball. It just shows how far the left are willing to go to spit in the face of laws. They feel they are above reproach, but they should not be, and they should be held accountable for their actions. -

This has nothing to do with red flags, Big Brother already knows that if he wants to use it. This was posting people names, addresses, birthdates, the firearms they have, and other sensitive information on the web for millions to see. In this climate, that's not too safe for those whose information was made public with all the fanatics out there. Some moron wants to steal a gun, now he knows right where to go. The AG made the state a free gun store to some criminals. -

The background check for ammo was rescinded by Cuomo himself before it was even put to any vote. That's why you can buy ammo and have it delivered to your house if you don't live in the NYC zip code areas. Some places won't do it because they don't want the hassle of checking every zip code, I don't blame them for not wanting to deal with our mess. After what happened in CA, the Left shouldn't be pushing any boundaries right now. CA is about to find out the hard way some things are best left alone, and being spiteful will lead down a bad road. I see some Democrats out there being removed from office. -
Politicians say gun owners are the reason for violent crimes? This dip stick just violated a ton of people's privacy and put them at risk. I see a huge lawsuit heading towards CA. I hope the morons here are paying attention to this, so they don't make the same dumbass mistake. https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/restoring-america/faith-freedom-self-reliance/california-just-showed-why-a-national-gun-registry-must-never-happen
