  1. I agree they do get brittle but work great in a pinch or if you don't have a jig
  2. this is the reason we switched from gun to archery season in 8N
  3. only other suggestion would be to quick fletch it if you don't have a jig or don't want to take it to a shop
  4. I would have to say for NY it would be the sunrise to sunset here in NH we have the 1/2 hour before & after seems to me NY loses the best hour of hunting NH would be "doe days" for firearm season instead of DMP's
  5. NH does this no Minimum age Hunter education can be taken from the age of 12 & up 16 years old & up you need a license you are allowed one apprentice license
  6. I would pass on him eat some popcorn & have a mineral milkshake instead
  7. Depends plinking would be my 10/22 or my SR1911 at my home range unloading ammo would be my Mini-30 Long distance shooting would be one of my Ruger Americans in .308
  8. if it has to do with shooting pistols, Rifles, Bows I love it
  9. Ruger American great cheap rifle. I have 2) in .308 one standard & one Predator
  10. Bro-inlaw has an arctic cat prowler 500 & loves it manual lift body works fairly easy even with a heavy load personally I would have gone with the 700 The 500 seems under powered to me but plows some & does what he wants just fine. Not 100% sure but think you can get electric lift for the dump bed
  11. Thanks wooly good to know I was thinking probably most sweet flavors would not bother them much
  12. Thanks everyone it is only a week today but like I said it has been a lot easier then I thought this week would be. Got an even better vape setup yesterday. I do have a question for those that vape in the woods. What flavors do you vape while hunting. The 8 pointer I shot last year came in down wind from me while I was smoking at 20 yards & I have shot a few with bow & gun while smoking or just put the cig out. I am vaping an apple pie & a vinilla custard now just wondering what everyone else likes
  13. Wow just saw this thread Congrats to you guys after over 20 years of smoking I just started the Vapor pen @ 3mg Saturday was my last Cigarette even though it has been less then a week I can't believe how easy it has been so far by the means of the Vapor pen I would suggest buying a good setup to begin with. I bought a cheap setup (didn't know any better) crapped out within 2 days then bought a decent one for not much more & works a lot better
  14. From Sept 15th - Dec 15th If I am not working (which gets in the way a lot) I am hunting Same thing for the Month of May!
  15. Congrats to Her!!! same score my youngest daughter scored on her Archery education
  16. LOL won't be my Prostaff. there is now a restraining order out on her. she is not allowed within 100 ft of my Prostaff 7
  17. Nikon Aculan on sale at Cabelas for $149 I use mine more to mark ranges as soon as I take stand. You don't always have time to range an animal
  18. I got stopped by DEC only once since hunting in NY had my back tag on my backpack all he said was if I take the backpack off to make sure the tag went on my back as for the tags I have a clear name tag holder with a safety pin that I just put my tag in & pin to the ear
  19. I have had so much going on this year I didn't put out any cameras, No food plots, I haven't even set stands yet NH bow season starts in two weeks looks like I am whinging it this year
  20. Well wouldn't you know it someone lost my Nikon prostaff 7 rangefinder a couple weeks ago. I won't mention any names who did it (youngest daughter) Saturday I had to drop my oldest daughter off to college in Portland Maine so I decided after looking everywhere for my rangefinder for two weeks without success I would stop in Cabelas & get a new one. It was killing me to spend $300 for a replacement on the new 7I but I decided I loved mine so I was prepared to do it. Well they just happened to have the Nikon Aculan on sale from $189 down to $149 As it did not have all the features of my other one I thought it would be good enough for a replacement at this time. I bought it & tested it out & found it does not have a lot of features that my Prostaff 7 had but I will say for the price it is a great rangefinder & was happy with it. Here is the good part less then 24 hours after buying the Aculand I am outside shooting my bow & getting familiar with my new rangefinder & my wife comes out & asks me if I know what this thing is she has in her hand that she found in her reusable grocery bag. Yup it is my Prostaff 7 rangefinder. After setting up a bow course for my daughter a couple weeks ago my wife had asked my daughter to help her bring in the groceries & she had set the rangefinder in one of the empty bags. I am thinking she did it on purpose so she can now have her own rangefinder. It worked but what she doesn't realize is it will be her birthday present
  21. Wow. May have to try this one drawing smoker plans now. Hoping to build it over the winter mine is to small for all the smoking I try to do
