  1. still have 6-8' snowbanks here I took this last week in my driveway. don't think the bike will come out anytime too soon
  2. Everyone make it through the winter OK Life got real busy after hunting season & still is but looking foward to Turkey season Hope everyone is doing well
  3. Well I am waiting on my new shotgun & may not be here before the season. currently we can not use crossbows for turkey & don't know it the bill gets passed it will be in time so looks like I will be using the Mathews ZXT
  4. -12 without windchill this morning in NH
  5. Have had DirecTV for a long time we started with Primestar when we built our house in 1995 It was a few years after that they were bought out by DirecTV. I have no complaints at all monthly bill has not dramatically changed over the years Parents had cable & did away with it as their bill went up $10-15 every few months said they were getting charged over $300 a month when they did away with it. That was basic cable, Internet & Phone.
  6. NYbowhunter I run my smoker year round just did a venison rump roast & sliced it like roast beef I too smoke anything I can fit in my smoker. we try to do 3 meals out of it a week summer I do more I have a barrel smoker (wood / charcoal) so days like today I can smoke but usually have to finish in the oven it is only 5 degrees here today
  7. Patriots Fan here and will be a giants fan again when they get rid of that Turd Eli manning Have to say I have always been a huge fan of the Cowboy cheerleaders though
  8. I would not change the amount of time I hunt or my tactics. I am a hunter. I am an outdoors man I will kill a doe just as fast as a buck. The only thing that would make me change is if I lose that excitement I get when I am out there then it is time to hang up the bow
  9. After many issues with Ameristep blinds I purchased a used double bull dark horse blind last year for cheap money. Didn't want to spend a lot to find out they were just as bad. I love this blind material is rugged & top quality. I would not hesitate to spend the money on a double bull if they are all made like the Darkhorse
  10. we have eaten 3 year old Venison that was vacuum packed No problems tasted like we just butchered it. I don't know if I would eat it if it were just wrapped in butcher paper
  11. Have had the best luck with Moultrie's we still have a 10-15 year old D-40 & still works like clock work also have D-55IR's & D-444's
  12. I agree & that is exactly what Rep Jim Webb is trying to do for starters is getting them used in all modern firearm seasons I will keep you posted
  13. Nice! I am in the Dartmouth Lake Sunapee area Yes I am preparing for them I am hoping I will not really have to go far with this
  14. RickF I am actually in contact with the NY crossbow coalition & NH Rep Jim Webb (who is drafting the LSR) & doing as much research as possible to see if at this time it would be worth pushing for the use of crossbows during archery season. this seems like the first step towards that by the way what part of NH are you from?
  15. UPDATE: after researching though the state & other sites I found the contact for the state rep. that has an LSR on the books RE:Crossbow season for 2015. I contacted him & asked what it was about. He wants to expand Crossbow Use to any season that allows Modern rifle & shotgun. He sent me a copy of his 1st draft I think this would be a great start to get Crossbows into their own season in the future & didn't see why this change would not go through however there will be another License fee ( OK with that) thing I didn't like & seems NH does not know where crossbows belong. It sounds like there will be another Hunter Education class that will need to be taken to be able to hunt with them. I have taken Firearm & archery Hunter education & both are cover a small amount on crossbows. I will admit I know very little about them as I just purchased one a few weeks ago. I never had been against them. Now after playing with one this is just another great tool for a hunter to use. It is exactly what it's name say's it is a cross between a rifle & a bow but so much closer to the bow end (on performance) Just don't know why they would been another Hunter education class But if it passes Iooks like I am heading to class
  16. already got it My oldest daughter is home from college for Christmas picked her up Tuesday so we will all be together. other then that I want another Ruger American this one also in .308 but the predator model but was already informed that I will be getting that in April for my Birthday so I didn't need to ask
  17. X3 & wonder how many states will allow them wonder if they are considered barbed
  18. Well I would say for me it would depend on the season We have the 1/2 & 1/2 rule here in NH & the only time I would not take that "LEGAL" (just so nobody thinks I am a troll even though I am the size of one) would be early bow season as the woods here are so thick I have a hard time seeing past my pins after sunset once the leaves drop it is good to go Gun season no problem even with open sights
  19. Any suggestions on where I should start with my state to try & get crossbows allowed for hunting? NH only allows crossbows during our rifle season I would like to see there usage extended even if it were for for coyotes & maybe spring Turkey season I just don't know where I should start
  20. Thanks chiefbkt she will be going to a good cause
