  1. That is in nice condition for the age. Enjoy, and take some photos on it for us.
  2. No help on date of manufacture, but man she’s s beauty.
  3. Whole new meaning to banging the gears .
  4. That’s a lot of scary black guns you have there.. just kidding, looks like a good time to me.
  5. He shoots at a club that has them mounted at a angle to deflect them down. But at 13 ft, it’s just not worth the risk. Copper jackets can do weird things, I am sure we’ve all seen it.
  6. Wife and I shoot them all the time but with the right projectile. It’s super fun, there’s just some thing about hearing that plate ring.
  7. Yep you guys have it covered, I haven’t drag raced since I was a teen. I used to go empire drag way in Leicester and one time a guy showed up in a built viper and clicked off a high 8 sec run and they booted him.
  8. I was having a discussion with a coworker about shooting and he was telling me he had loaded some xtp’s in his 357 and was shooting steel plates at 13 ft with it. I say you know it’s not recommended with jacketed bullets as the jacket can come back and injure the shooter. He says , well no one has got hurt yet, then tells me a jacket came back and hit his son in the chest but didn’t hurt him. I say, it’s not worth it to me especially when one can use the many copper washed bullets out now a days. He says well to each there own. Yep you bet and don’t ever ask me to shoot with ya.
  9. Be carful. I believe if I remember right a sub 10 second car has to have a roll cage. If he has mods etc. and that car hooks he could very well get booted from the track. Just a FYI ..
  10. Agreed, I do all my mudding on my atv’s now. I can buy 4 aggressive mud tires for the quad for less than one super swamper for a truck . Plus the quads are built for it where’s building a truck to play in the mud can get expensive.
  11. Very nice indeed. Have had a few fun vehicles also. Started with a 72 dart swapped out the slant 6 and K frame and installed a 360 with ported heads and a LD340 intake, purple cam , headers and pinion snubber. Had lots of fun in that car till I wrecked it.Then a Buick Regal with a mild built 350 . Then started building trucks to play in the mud, 80 Chevy lifted with 38’s and a mild built 350, then a 82 bronco with a mild built 302 on 40’s. Then a 79 f350 with a 460. Ported and milled the heads installed a torquer cam , 850 4 barrel holly, headers and re geared the axles to 4.56’s, limited slip diffs front and rear and ran 44 inch super swampers. Wished I had kept that truck, had lots of fun in that one. Seemed there was a poker run or mud bog every weekend back in the early 80’s Then I got married and kids etc and had responsibility’s so yeah. My just bought 14 f150 will be getting some add on’s in the near future. A tuner, and might do some engine mods. Congrats on the new hot rod, will be fun no doubt..
  12. My 07 f150 has the 5.4 and when I did the plugs I only had one seize in the head , but I had the tool to remove. That truck has 150,000 trouble free miles on it, I only have had the CEL on one time and that’s when the fuel pump control module corroded up on it. If anything is taken away from that article, it’s that ALL and I mean ALL auto manufacturers make lemons..
  13. I like up close, because I like watching the behavior of the animals. Plus I like to challenge my woodsman ship skills to see if I am correct on stand placement. But being able to consistently make 300 yards shots like it’s nothing, is a skill to respect.
  14. You made the right choice, there’s just something about the gladiator that’s off just enough to me also.
  15. I really like it, I have always been a big bow hunter and hunting with a revolver is close in challenge to hunting with a bow. One has to put in the time with a revolver to become proficient, same as a bow. I highly recommend it.
  16. So I’ll let you decide, is it a case of to many guns to remember or chalk it up to a (cough clearing throat) senior moment ...... even though I don’t believe you or I are that old yet
  17. When I was 17, I had my first small buck walk out in front of me at like 15 yards. I had buck fever so bad. I shot 3 times missing him every time. Funny thing is I was using a H&R single and he just stood there and just let me reload that gun. I guess after the third time he caught on.
  18. Bow - closest , base of ladder stand straight down, / farthest, 42 yards ranged 870 12 gauge - closest, Base of tree in my climber straight down again / H&R 12 gauge single shot - farthest , 160ish paced off yards. 44 super red hawk - closest, 20 yards / farthest, 80ish yards paced off .
