  1. Bear cubs will not often be very far from the mother bear. One cry from that cub, will bring her running fast! I hope that was the outcome of that awesome trail cam picture!!
  2. Got alot on my plate. But would love to go to this!!! Will see??
  3. Used to catch a bunch of panfish with a cane pole and bobber! Never had anything put up the fight the young lady in the video had though!
  4. I started out shooting trad bows, and shot with my fingers using a glove. After switching to a compound, I still shot with fingers for many years. When I went to a release in the 90's I learned just like you do. Right hand thumb up, palm facing in, anchored to my jaw, just below my ear. I've tried the other way with my palm facing out. But never could get comfortable with it.
  5. The final Bill was never brought to the floor for a final vote. So no changes made again this year. Typical NYS BS! The founder of NYS Crossbow Coalition, Rick McDermott and his wife were recently, tragically killed in an automobile wreck. So not sure from this point who will carry the banner, to lobby for changes in Albany. I know some people behind the scenes in the CC. And they are still sorting through all the stuff that Rick was working on. But as of right now, no one has made the step to fill the huge void Rick left behind.
  6. I too still have the MQ-32!! Bought mine in 2000, so 23 years old now. Still shoots just fine. I may have to take it out again this year!!

    Happy belated Birthday my friend!!!
  8. For bowhunting, I don't like any expandable broadhead. I stick to the fixed blade heads. Like my Muzzy MX4. Never have to worry if they will open up, or have blades pre-deploy. I stick with what works for me.
  9. Perhaps a very good training program would help Dutch??? Having him learn that some of his current behaviors are unacceptable, could be very beneficial to him and your family. Just re-homing Dutch won't solve his underlying issues. I really hope that this story has a happy ending.
  10. Congratulations to you both! 61 years is a milestone rarely seen these days! That's pretty special and inspiring. Wishing you many more years of happiness.
  11. Congratulations Grizz!!! What a huge bear! Be great to hear the story of the hunt!
  12. Sadly Rick McDermott the founder of NYCC and his wife passed away due to a motor vehicle accident yesterday in the town of Pulaski. RIP Rick. You were a true warrior for your cause. And will truly be missed.
  13. Nice to see you still haven't changed either mayor.
  14. What a great shot she is!!! That video was cool!
  15. There is absolutely no competition between sites. It is what it is. Everyone can come and go as they please. I visit both. Some great folks here and there. Have no issues with anyone. Well...............maybe Mayor McCheese. But some things will always remain the same.
  16. Congratulations Al. I've had my LTDL since 1998. So much fun as you well know, working with a dog to achieve a goal. Your dog can be certified as well.
  17. Great job Al. Very cool! I always wanted to do something similar.
  18. I have a couple ATI products. I find them to be great quality at a good price. This OU model would be worth having! I want one!
  19. As AL said, better safe than sorry my friend. The Dox is good insurance medicine. You have a good doctor. My hunting partner has found ticks on him twice this winter! This mild winter will increase the tick population. Be vigilant out there checking for the nasty things. And using Permethrine helps alot.
  20. I just leave the arrows from misses, in the trees as monuments to myself to make better shots! Got a few monuments scattered over the farm. Most are really old. One or two more recent.
  21. I believe my reputation here, as far as contribution, speaks for itself. So does yours.
  22. Mayor McCheese was, and still is, one of the most abrasive people on this site. Seen it too often during all the years I've spent here. He should have been banned years ago. Perhaps this place would have been better off. The annual "Hunters Are Only Hunting For Antlers" thread always got the membership hugging, and singing Kumbaya.
