  1. Yep we used a kayak tied to the boat a few times to avoid moving it was a pain, And in my early days of boat hunting. you can retrieve with the boat you are in. You can shoot with the motor down as long as you aren't moving due to the power of the motor at all. If you end up hunting in the cold don't put the motor up!
  2. That would probably be life changing
  3. Don't necessarily let houses keep you away, shoot towards the open lake. Can set up close to shoreline, I hunt open water a fair bit with longlines away from shore. Camo boat probably helps but honestly mines nothing fancy and birds decoy fine. Tons of fun, just make sure to have a plan for retrieving the birds. I've used a kayak from boat, a clip on the anchor line with a float so it's easier to get back on anchor, and a dog, they all work but bringing a kayak is a pain in the balls.
  4. Haha if we all get to post pics of nice boobs she can post up pics of guys similar to me
  5. That eagle is freaking awesome when I finally get a house I'll have to be in touch
  6. I've gotten speeding tickets in my car, truck, jet ski, boat, and sled. I've since smartened up lol I'd just pay the fine and move on, with that said it's never put points on my license if that was in the picture I'd fight it, like a ticket received in truck or car.
  7. How many million miles Cummins on the road? I've been in two! Lol
  8. Hen GoldenEye, a hen scaup or bluebill as we call them would have a blueish bill even when they're juvenile. Nice bird!
  9. Yep! I like hunting the lake and would have been out there most likely is there boat was going good, don't like taking chances on the big water when it's cold. The lake makes for some fun hunting
  10. You'll get another chance! Gotta be positive, my goal for next season is to zero in on more cans and add more can decoys to the arsenal. They're fascinating birds imo. That and add some better spots for malards. The weather is looking cold for end of the week maybe I'll be sick
  11. Delicious! They really are outstanding, this one's going to be mounted by one of the guys in the blind
  12. Late season was a bust, weather sucked boat issues late etc etc
  13. My big takeaway from the spot lately is I'll likely be allowed to deer hunt it next season
  14. Could be, I haven't been there all season it's a field that gets some use when it floods
  15. Got out of work and hauled over to a spot in Clarence I've neglected, got there and remembered why I neglected it but did notice a good number of mallards in the corn across the road
  16. That eagle is awesome, great work
  17. Right now I have 15 dozen decoys in my truck, usually use it to tow and drive the car but to each his own, if you like lifts lift it if you like stacks stack it, I've seen some pretty mean trucks with lifts and a stack. This thread is making me miss my Dodge
  18. That trucks at least leveled, looks good imo. If I skied I'd think it would make sense. There's definitely see funny mods out there though
  19. Patternmaster makes nice chokes but 70 yards is a stretch that will result in cripples. Also I thought 3.5s were the greatest thing ever for a few hunts now I mostly buy 3 inch again. My sx4 shoots well with the patternmaster chokes and Carlson's, and those are a bit more reasonable.
  20. Two of my best spots are small creeks, one north and one south. They really produce when it's a cold late season which unfortunately this one is not. I'll take a hunt on a small creek for mallards over big water for divers most of the time
