  1. No, I highly doubt any of them are from NY besides mine, lol. I think there are one or two from PA. Most from what I understand are typical Midwest deer with a random NE or SE thrown in the mix.
  2. You know, if you didn't drop your bow, one of us surely would have shot him that day.
  3. LOL, indeed. Separately, Bases was chosen for the 2014 Covert Product Catalog.
  4. http://www.haastylehunting.com/vote-here.html A pic of the giant we called "Bases" that me and Moog chased this past season is in the linked photo contest. Photo battle #15 - the pic on the left. You have to click on my name...Brad. I would appreciate any votes. With all of the cams I run and use, I don't get very many "picturesque" shots as I'm more into using them as a hunting tool rather than as a hobbyist or someone who typically goes after the magazine shots. Again, appreciate any votes.
  5. That is a great area. I wouldnt scout in may...wayy too late. Itll be miserable and green. You should be there in march.
  6. KISS method as Split noted. Certainly worthwhile if you like to tinker with things, though.
  7. A good friend of mine hunted on Cartwright's ground for a long time. It's definitely seen better years as far as big bucks go, but still decent.
  8. I think I'm only behind in your head. I don't think anyone else here is drinking the ZH koolaid like you. You must be swimming in it. I can see why ZH would be a perfect medium for the pay to defame scheme. How about you? This one is worth a chuckle...Google power: ZeroHedge is right = 3,500,000 hits ZeroHedge is wrong = 6,850,000 hits I spit in your ZH koolaid.
  9. And the fact remains, Dan denies he is the site founder. Go figure. Several people here who I would think are a great barometer of "general humanity" have also commented that you are a little batcrap crazy with ZH. When one person says I'm way off base - I read or listen to them and try to understand their POV. Maybe I am way off base. But, when several people say it - I really need to look at my compass and decide if I want to swim upstream. More than a few times, I find out in those situations, I had the wrong or a misguided outlook. That ZH koolaid must be tasty. You can copy paste...whoopity do. So can I. Zero Hedge has itself been accused of some of the manipulation it claims to expose. A company called Noble Investments Limited claims that a financial consultant paid Zero Hedge to write a defamatory blog post about the company, which he then linked to immediately. “”Accordingly, just fourteen minutes after the Dalrymple GFC Reptort was published on zerohedge.com, Weinberg published a fully formed blog entry, including pictures, in which he summarized and quoted from the report, and provided readers a link to Ivandjiiski’s blog entry on zerohedge.com where they could download the report. Weinberg did not acknowledge that zerohedge.com had “broken” the story fourteen minutes earlier or state anywhere in the blog that the link from which readers were invited to download the report pointed to Ivandjiiski’s blog entry on zerohedge.com.[21] The law firm behind the suit describes Zero Hedge as "a portal for people to anonymously distribute derogatory information concerning public companies," giving the impression that Zero Hedge may well have arranged many such pay-to-defame schemes.
  10. Maple tree in. They are only open a few weeks a year but ive heard they do over 1m in business.
  11. The temp won't go lower than that. It is a limit of their sensor. I don't know if they have updated that for this model year.
  12. The method of research doesn't matter. The end result is the same. You are grasping at straws. Does ZH's founder put his real name on that site? No. What does he do then? He uses a fake movie name from Fight Club. The site tries to push forward derogatory and inflammatory articles that because of the veil of "not signing your name" allows for all kinds of wild tales and ludicrous claims without fear of retribution. Is he even American? I don't think he is. You want to stand for something - put your darn name on it. I grew up knowing that my handshake, last name, and word is the best thing I could offer. I, and I suspect the majority of the world, feels the same way - if you can't put your name on it, anything you say, do, publish, is hogwash. Pure hogwash.
  13. That camera has been a champ for you this year. Glad to see it has performed well.
  14. 8C permission is like hitting the lottery.
  15. Using ZH as evidence is extremist, whacko, tin foil wearing (lol Belo), sky is falling, the world is ending, and any other term you want to use. Five minutes of Google research shows just how ludicrous ZH is. I mean, the site founder can't even tie his name to it. Seriously, the use of a fake name from a movie? Get real.
  16. Extremism rarely is a good thing. Extremism is what I read when you post Papist. Quoting zerohedge so much only backs that up.
  17. Of course. I don't think anyone will say that's a bad wrap at the hands of such legislation. They got screwed. But your posts about the sky falling and linking extremist sites like zerohedge just shows that you are on the far end of the spectrum. A healthy balance of skepticism and optimism often leads to being the best equipped to handle your future.
  18. As I said before, I don't like AC or what he stands for/does, but him and his team are super polished and very good at what they do to gather the support to keep him in office. I really can't think of a conservative politician with a team like his. And, that's scary. If I were one of the RNC front runners, I'd be backing up the darn Brinks truck to some of his people. I'm talking Mario Williams/A-Rod/Cano kind of back up the Brinks truck.
  19. A lot of doom and gloom in your posts. Not saying everything is rose-colored glass, but relax a bit on the fear mongering. And, separately, don't be posting quotes or anything with bad language. Kids read this site and this is not the venue to be posting the ravings of an adult-oriented comedian. I understand the points you are trying to put out there, but no need to do so with the use of foul language on a hunting site that has younger kids in the mix. Poor taste in my opinion. Moderator's note: I agree that the Carlin quote was in poor taste and have deleted it.
  20. Those dates can be anywhere from OK to great. What county? I tend to find you can get an idea of movement based on taking your experience here in NY and moving it back about 5-7 days to get the "general" activity in Ohio, with the further south being as much as 10 days behind. I think the second and heading into the third week in November to be best for most all parts of Ohio save for the northern sections for the larger bucks.
  21. Spott Hogg really. I don't think anything out there beats their sights. Expensive yes, but buy once.
  22. It's all about intended use. If it's a home defense, then obviously those saying more stopping power is needed. If is a small carry or back-up, etc. then having one with you that you can carry and use effectively is much better than that full frame 1911 boat anchor.
  23. I prebuy each year, so the price fluctuation isn't much of a concern to me other than simply getting the propane. I can't remember if I locked in at $2.09 or $2.19 this year. Either way, it's way cheaper than current market rates.
  24. Spend the extra coin and get the rc600, lol.
