Thinking of a new toy for fiddlin around with. Been looking at the Samik Sage or Martin Cypress. Don't want to spend a ton...read a lot of reviews - both are highly rated. I was figuring 45#, and if I'm accurate enough keep shots at deer at right around 15yds. Anybody hunt with either of these 2 bows? Thanks, Jeff

We just had a nice Christmas dinner with family, and brother and sister-in law's gift was pretty cool! The Redneck Plunger Gun...cool Legendary Whitetail hat. The plunger gun takes care of all possibilities: If you dropped a deuce an it won't break loose...you need a Redneck Plunger If you laid a log that caused a clog...you need a Redneck Plunger etc, etc, etc. Merry Christmas All!!! p.s...I'm hoping to get a book from Santa next Christmas on how to post a pic right side up

Well, the season is finally over...after 3 months of hunting I'm sitting at the dining room table with a cup of coffee thinking about some of the hunts. Some really comical with people busting up a hunt while grunting in a buck with their dog and on horseback coming right on top of me. Got to spend a lot of time in the woods and had a good time. Got my honey's "do" list ready to go for the day in preparation for the Christmas dinner. Got a good wife that puts up with a lot during hunting season! But I do have to admit the tag tastes like crap however you fix it! Have a great Christmas everybody and God bless you all with a healthy, peaceful new year! Jeff

Got off from work a couple of hours early. So went out for the last two hours of the season. Rain for the first hour then ok. It was nice being out there. Didn't see anything. Beautiful morning for hunting. Saw 3 does...back out this afternoon; hoping the 8 pointer comes back.

This afternoon hunt on a ridge overlooking hardwoods and a stream, I see a nice rack 8 pointer across the stream about 150 yds away. Watched him for about 10 minutes with the does feeding. Nice white rack...couldn't get a shot- too many branches and junk in the way. There was also a pie ball doe in the bunch. It was good to see some deer and have some action. Hope to see him in morning.

After hunting most of the day today, I finally see a buck late this afternoon. Couldn't get a good shot-heavy brush at first, then only an opening for a couple of seconds. Grunted him still, but when he stopped he was in heavy brush again. Then disappeared. Just good to see one. Got one with the bow, but this is first buck I've seen after bow season. I've had too many disturbances at my spot. A woman keeps bringing her dang dogs for a walk all over the woods. She was out there this afternoon at 2.

Had lots of time on my hands, not worrying about butchering a deer. Thankfully I got one during bow season. So I definitely sympathize with all us not seeing a bunch of deer. Stayed in this morning . The fog is still like soup. Going out around 1. I relate to you guys missing your dads. My pops been gone since 2002. Sure do miss him. It's like a right arm missing. Hunted there yesterday with a buddy- we saw 2 red fox - notta deer. I hunt 3G; been real slow so far.

Out for the afternoon hunt...nothing moving this morning at all. Been a slow mover so far this season.
