  1. Agreed. If that buck had a better diet he would be a monster but for the area that this buck is living which is the side of a highway with mostly weeds, garbage, the occasional acorn and petunias from peoples yards he is certainly by those standards a huge buck. Where I hunt upstate we have a few corn/clover fields, plenty of acorns and unlimited hay fields but I have never seen a buck of this size mainly due to hunting pressure and coyotes. To me it is more impressive seeing a buck of that size knowing he did not have ideal nutrition compared to a buck I know that has been eating out of food plots all day. P.S. This is not a bash on food plots. I do not plant food plots however I credit those that do spend the time to do so.
  2. This just proves wrong to all those that feel supplemental feeding is necessary to grow big racks
  3. I hear ya. I am just amazed how there is nothing really nutrional for these deer to eat yet they can still get to these sizes.
  4. Unbelievable that a buck can grow to this size without food plots!! lol
  5. Not to be disrespectful or insensitive to those who lost their lives in this tragedy but is it just me or is that cop in the picture pretty hot holding that gun???
  6. And everybody thought antlers were for fighting!
  7. They are there but now they are also being seen on Arthur Kill near Richmond Town, Wolfs Pond park and Gateway park.
  8. Got to my treestand one morning and climbed up to the top and found a porky in my seat. Not sure but I think we both crapped ourselves!
  9. I work down town in Carroll Gardens and used to live in Bensonhurst/Gravesend and now I live in Staten Island. In my opinion the nicest place you can affordably live in NYC.
  10. Only place i can live in nyc and have deer and turkey in my yard lol
  11. Same here. Bow/Gun originally from Brooklyn and now live in Staten Island. I hunt 4A
  12. I dont think I could eat any deer that came off of Staten Island for the simple reason there is no agriculture and they probably wouldnt taste very good.
  13. I once shot a squirrel from my treestand and nailed it then all of a sudden the squirrel took off with my arrow in it. Damn thing actually climbed up a tree with my arrow still in it and there went my squirrel and arrow.
  14. Personally I love seeing the wildlife on Staten Island but some dont and they are already planning ways of preventing the expansion of the herd of deer and flocks of Turkey. http://www.silive.com/news/index.ssf/2012/07/deer_by_the_hundreds_pose_grow.html
  15. Never mind the turkey but the deer population in Staten Island has boomed and estimated to be over a few hundred. I rarely saw them and only in one section of staten island now I am seeing them everyday. Staten Island has a huge project going on converting the old land fill into a park that is going to be 3x times the size of central park and this has become a deer haven. I am seeing the deer feeding in open areas every evening off of Arthur Kill rd. This park is quite interesting and should be really amazing. 16. Mickey Mouse boots are the best out there. Funny looking but will keep you warm and dry.
  17. I live in Staten Island but my wifes 3 siblings live in long island and we fight all the time because I refuse to go to parties and gatherings because it is never any less than a 2-3 hour trip each way. It is absolutely miserable traveling to and fro long island.
  18. Wow! How the heck did that happen?? Was everyone ok?
  19. I worked for Teamster Local 282 for two years and it was the biggest scam going. They are all puppets and paid off. My boss was a crooked gangster, which he eventually got pinched and is now doing time, and paid everyone off or threatened them and I got the shaft.
  20. Oh man I hate when that happens, which is almost always!!!
  21. First one is 2010 second was 2007.
