    A gentleman my dad, and I knew from upstate, actually moved to Tennessee recently. He loves it, has some land, etc, and the difference in weather, is much better for his bad back. Another family friend, had a broken back also, he is moving to Texas in a few weeks.

    I stay because of my dad, we are best friends, and have lots of hobbies together. Second, my job, I am too far vested, and wouldn’t have the guts to start over. I started this full time job at 18 yrs old 2 days because before I graduated, and I am about to start my 15th year in a few months. I will have 37 yrs in at 55 yrs old, and will be about maxed out for NYS retirement. At that point, I will see how my dad is, health wise, and sell everything, and move to northern Maine, He would move in a heartbeat at this point. I pondered the idea of moving to Maine when I was there this summer, a supervisor title in the highway dept makes about $10 less an hour than where I currently sit in my current job. I would be a fool to leave my job this far in, when I do retire, and if I actually do move there, I will fortunately live pretty comfortably.

    I knew a guy who was after a specific buck at one point in time. Well he had a cam up viewing what he would see, as if he were actually in the tree hunting. He kept a climber on that tree, well he would hunt, not see the the buck, miss a day here and there, buck would walk by. Turns out this deer was only coming through if he saw the climber at the base of the tree. It was a neat story to hear told, not surprising to many I assume, but worth a hear. I THINK if I remember correctly he had put a different climber up in a separate tree, and took him, or watched the buck one day since that original climber was obviously at the base of a separate tree

    Yeah, but there is no difference, I saw an 8 that didn’t give me a shot in crossbow, and does are seen almost daily, and illegal bucks as well. Same thing different scene. What I need to do is make time to scout this upcoming warmer season for next year, I get discouraged at this point, and say screw it when June, and July comes with trying to locate buck beds, and so on.

    I’m out myself guys, 3k spot. 32 and light wet snow. I spoke to my sister’s other half yesterday, he saw one 8 pointer, and some straggly odd looking spikes, unicorns, and 3 pointers, doe, and one bobcat. They live about 6 or so miles away. Had to skip yesterday, but I’m out each day until Monday. Fingers crossed.

    No, unfortunately it was not a trip for pleasure. My girlfriend, and I did go there for her bday in the winter though. Her idea, plus Red Robin after, which we enjoy.

    My family, and I were out in Lancaster area of PA today. We made sure to stop at our favorite store! Shady Maple.
