No sir! Another wonderful day in the southern tier! Another 2" of rain today, and I am worried about the new stain on the house, looking ok, but not thrilled. All it does is rain here. My new HSS vest safety system delivers today though.

I want to reply to each idea you mention, but do not want to sound as if I have given up, because I most definitely have not, and wont quit trying. Speaking of wind, I have truly checked wind often last year, since I never bothered to, due to not having many choices due to only having 1 tree stand here at that time. It always seemed as if the winds changed direction several times within say an hour or so, when forecasts predicted a certain direction only. Just seems to constantly be a shifting wind where I hunt. I stopped paying attention for that reason, but this year, I have 2 stands up, and will put my 3rd up very very soon, and I would like to try paying attention to wind again. As far as moving slowly, I do take a few steps, and stop, few steps...stop, and gentle steps. However, this stand I sat in today, is only about 100 yards behind my house, my house is also 300ft off the road, and each neighbor is hundreds of feet away, all dense woods. I chose this spot because in years past I have seen some nice bucks, but as always mentioned, they are soooo rare. The opening day of regular season in 2014, my dad killed a decent 7 pointer in the morning, and that is within 50 yards or so of this stand site. As we were in my yard talking, after dragging his deer to his truck, a real nice 8 pointer with pale colored antlers was walking through my backyard, within a stones throw of us, it was so exciting. Anyways, we both went back to our stands, and 2 hrs later I shot a big 7 point that dressed at 175. Point is, both these deer killed within yelling distance of the spot I sit in now. I was sort of justifying why it is so close to my house. We have never had such an experience hunting, where we were both successful on the same day. I also am concerned with going deeper in the woods, but I do, I have a stand about 1500' back roughly. The land is a long rectangle.....where this old dried up pond is so I really only have a small window to access this long chunk of land. It is difficult to explain. Point is, I always feel like I am so exposed trying to access the stand way out back, that I worry I blew the area out long before I reach my other stand site...i should draw up a pic showing the geography of the land. Basically, I walk along a slight hill, then it drops down steep maybe 25' then the land is perfectly flat for about 150 yards to a rise of about 25' after crossing a 6' wide creek. I have a stand dead center of this flat area, behind me by about 100 or 125 yards is that dried up pond, and I feel it could funnel deer around that, dumping them in my vicinty....ahead of the stand in the direction I face, is a spot a couple years ago, I saw a couple 2 rubs in a line, and over a weeks period, had 4 or 5 bucks on camera, in the morning. They all headed in the same exact path, with was headed away from the creek side, and to a house that has about a dozen or so apple trees. They head straight to that house. It was only that weeks time though, never another rub near, and never pictured on cam again. Hopefully this painted a bit of a picture, sort of just thought out loud for you. Thanks Treeguy Also, for the past few years I have finally been washing clothes in scent free detergent, a d keeping them stored in a clear regular plastic bag, to keep as scent free as I can. Funny, but never bothered before a few years ago. Once I got my big deer, I have a total different mindset.

Burritos with Grilled blackened dry rubbed chicken, with chopped red onion, cubed sweet grape tomatoes, crisp shredded romaine, cold baby spinach leaves, spiced up with chopped jalapenos, cheddarjack cheese, and a light drizzle of chipotle ranch dressing. Avocado inside too. You know same shit different day/way... No pics, too much room for jokes with the look of the ranch dressing.

Hey Chef, I hear you man, it is difficult for sure. Yeah thats me who is in the vicinity of your friend's camp. I took a very nice 7 point in 2014 on my property here, which dressed at 175. That was opening day rifle. I have seen a few giants with suprising mass walk randomly past cams here before, to have never had them show up again in any means. Even driving in the area say within 5 miles, every now and then a giant rack appears with a big body. Like you have said before, they surely are here, but I truly feel they do not have solid patters up here. Sightings just seem sooo sporadic and random, and rubs just seem so spaced, and few, that i cant seem to figure out if its one buck, or if it criss crossed another, lol. Again, I am not a good hunter, I do not seem to scout much at all either because of the lack of sign, and for reasons said prior. It cracks me up though, its deep dark woods, and pretty vast, roads are not too scattered here, and the houses are really not too plentiful when you look on google earth. Oh well, I will just keep putting my time in, it makes getting a large buck that more exciting, and meaningful to me. Fortunately I have a spot in Orange County where deer sightings of doe, and buck are much more frequent. Thinking out loud now, and wrote a book, haha. Stay safe in Florida!

It has rained almost everyday since June in my area, so to finally have some weight off my shoulders, and a nice sunny day, I just HAD to sit here all day.

I was actually eating peanut butter like it was pudding a few hours ago. Speaking of dinner....going to make some chicken burritos with avocado, and other stuff lol

Oooooh, lol. I was so confused for a minute, forgot about that post. I have been here 6.5 yrs, I look at it as if hopefully they will watch over the house...weird but how I feel.

The owner of this land had passed years ago, there was also a hunting camp deep in in the 70s....the wife still owns it. Plus my house has this in memory plaque inside that is about 4"x6" with 3 names on it, no clue who they were.

That was actually purchased, I believe the shop ordered it in for me. They did not even charge me for it, great shop. I can't remember the name either, he opened it up, installed it, and we adjusted it together, and he gave me posture lessons in field of the shop. It is a help, it keeps the bow from rotating as I draw back. If you were interested in one, google "bow arm stabilizer" about $90 or so.

I am out back in my stand, been out, just havent posted. I am harnessed in too finally. First sit of the year, not expecting much, just happy to be out.

Wow. I hear my dad telling me how proud of me he is, and so on for my home, and how I had it restored. I cant imagine living so far away from him as you do. I could not do it .....I do not know how you do it. I hope you meet your goals while he is visiting, and I would love to share mine as well.

I added some 2x4s to hold me incase I fall asleep. I will sit in it tomorrow for the first time ever.
